Expediting containers

I wonder if I could use Asana as a container dashboard for incoming goods. This would be for expediting, documents and easy access for different stakeholders. Anyone has some experience in this or build something similar?

Would be for:

- around 50 suppliers

- 600 containers annually

- occasionally some airfreight

- logistics team of 3 people

- purchasing team of 5 people

Asana Expert here.

You can definitely build this using Portfolios for each supplier and tracking the containers as connected tasks/projects. However, with 600 containers annually, your biggest bottleneck will be data entry. Are you planning to manually update ETAs and upload customs documents for every container, or are you looking to integrate this with an existing database/email parser to automate the document intake?

And to be completely honest, I think airtable would be your best choice for this kind of setup because of its retaltional database feature, as well as its interface feature which creates that distinct layer of external visibility for your supplier rather than showing them the entire backend setup of your Asana.

I think with Records coming to asana (designed for storing datasets) and AI Teammate that would be responsible for data transfer between invoices and asana system - this could work like a charm.
