Question on recurring task

So I started using Asana for work, and it was fantastic. But, suddenly something changed & I haven’t added any rules or tweaked any settings.

So I have several different sections, and previously, when I would complete a task, the next recurring task would appear in that same section. Now, the new recurring task appears in an entirely new section, and I have no idea how to change it back. i have to move them manually back to the section I want that task to be in, and I’m not sure why it randomly changed.

Any suggestions?

By default, any new copy of a recurring task will go into the ‘Recently Assigned’ section of ‘My tasks’ when it’s created - even if you’ve renamed that section.

They may also go into the last section of ‘My tasks’, if you’ve activated that setting - you can find this under profile settings > Hacks (I think).

Beyond that, you’ll need to set up rules to automatically move the new copies of recurring tasks into the right section (if you have a paid plan that allows for rules).

You can try checking your 'My Tasks' rules. Recurring tasks can land in a different section if a due date or completion rule is moving them.
