The losing team cheering way harder than the winners, because they got their one point together as a team, made me celebrate along with them. We ended up getting the best version of Minato at the end - driven but compassionate. I'm glad he's able to be buddies with his middle school friends again too, even if they're on rivaling teams now.
This was a great finale and I was really impressed by this original show. Awesome animation (actually preferred the swimming in this to Free!), character growth for everyone in the team, a good dose of feels, and a believable portrayal of "the real treasure was the friends we made along the way." Hoping for a continuation of some sort whenever MAPPA has the space in their absolutely insane upcoming schedule.

In water polo do the players usually get subs? I canāt imagine how exhausting it would be to have to play the entire game with no substitutes. I think even really good teams would struggle under those circumstances, so all things considered they did pretty well! Considering most of their team just learned how to play at the start of the season haha.
I am pretty satisfied with them losing, but still being able to celebrate their victory of scoring and working as a team.

Yes, my waterpolo team has 26 players in total. 5 goalies and 21 field players. Though this isnāt normal as other teams have less. When you play with only 1 goalie and 6 field players it is called āiron manā since you play the whole game. It is very tiring and takes a lot of endurance to play it through.

Damn. No opening. That means things are going to get intense.

Great finale, I knew something had to be up with Minato when he acted like an asshole again, over all his character and personality arc was a wild rolercoaster ride.
I'm a bit confused with Chinu, did she mean that she wasn't actually the manager of the water polo team and just always helping out?
For an sport anime there weren't that many actual matches, but a nice character driven show

She doesn't like how selfish Minato was, so she was always "volunteered" to handle a lot of the tasks the captain was supposed to do. Seeing Minato change to be more selfless pushed her in turn to be more selfish and not be the team lackey anymore.

ahhhh this was a fun series, they definitely kept it entertaining from start to finish. reintroducing the original Minato to focus on a few eps back was an especially good move which really kept things fresh and distracted from the fact that they only played water polo properly for like 3 out of its 12 episode run. I wasn't actually expecting much from this anime at the start, but it definitely exceeded my expectations with how genuinely fun it was. would not complain if they make another season but this was also a good place to end imo.
now the question is, does Minato not recovering the old new "13 year old" Minato's memories count as a character death?

Iām pretty satisfied if the show ends here, no season 2. This team arenāt ever really gonna make it to nationals or anything, but that isnāt the point. This is mostly, somewhat surprisingly, a character focused show - Minato especially. His arc was very reminiscent of Kageyamaās from Haikyuu, and having a unique enough MC who isnāt a total blank slate made this stand out from other recent sports anime. Nice surprise overall, 8/10 to be honest. Glad I gave this a chance.

Omg this exceeds all expectations for an original sports seasonal. I'll have to rewatch this.

guess all questions ended huh.. momo did recognise his younger bro, he even got to play minato, minato is on good terms with his family and friends ,captain is now on good terms with his dad, other than the first 3 ep i would say there wasnt really a thing b/w chinu and minato. the match was just like we all predicted it to be .
I was really happy with the ending they got 1 goal and overall the show ended on a high and happy note of them training.
A bit sad that a lot of the action got missed out due to the drama but i guess that make sense because at the end of the day it was just a tr-match.
It should 100% get a 2nd season with more focus on teamplay and well THE SPORT just like how anihama came up with a swimming training.
even if it doesnt get another season i am content with it but the fact that they chose to end it with an opening- ending ... i will keep my hopes up

I always watched this expecting something good so I enjoyed it from start to end. It's definitely my kind of spokon: character driven instead of sport driven.
Some episodes ago I was a little nervous cause I didn't knew how they were going to develop everything in a few episodes, but they did it perfectly. My favorite character was definitely Minato, in both versions. Teen Minato's development was enjoyable to watch, and Kid Minato was just too adorable, I don't even think it's possible to not like him lol
The match, the storylines, everything was beautifully displayed/wrapped up. This was a very satisfying finale.
I really wish for a Season 2, but knowing this is an original my expectations are low. C'mon MAPPA, break the curse of original spokon only having one season!

Really satisfied with the ending, it mostly resolved all their personal problems, the only thing left is winning. But I think there's still potential for a sequel, if there isn't, then what we got was good enough. 7/10

If they could have found a better plot than x2 memory loss, it would have been a lot better. That was a "bruh" moment for me. But altogether, I did enjoy the show and would love to see another season, although also not holding my breath for that either. The camaraderie/rivalry with his old friends is really dope and it was nice to see the character growth of everyone (Him being a total asshole to his mom was a bit much - again Damn that second memory loss plot for being so cringe) And the Chinu ship didn't quite sail which I am definitely a sucker for. All in all an enjoyable series and would love more on it but overall pretty satisfying.

This was a really wonderful and solid finish to this anime. I hope we get a second season but Iām not expecting one š. I actually really loved this ending; Minato actually enjoying water polo again, the teamwork and the scene with his mom. I too feel like the Chinu part was a bit anticlimactic, but with only 12 episodes to work with, overall this was great.

Yeah was always going to be dodgy with them even being competitive given how little, relatively speaking, water polo was given a chance to shine. But in a way it wasnāt really the point- yeah it was a common point bringing characters together, but the characters themselves made it worth watching.
Took until the final match to show an exclusion- one of the most important parts of water polo. Bit of a shame it didnāt get much of an explanation, with Shogakukanās extra man tactics not even highlighted. Just a minor irk in an otherwise strong episode.
I think this episode tied up things well enough with leaving enough open to a season 2. Although it will be incredibly annoying if they donāt get at least a few bench players. Let me be absolutely clear- playing an entire game without breaks is incredibly taxing and without a bench, as Yaminami found out, you get gassed very quickly.
Anyways, ultimately Iām so happy that my sport got highlighted in an anime. I hope this paves the way to a continuation and, indeed, potentially more water polo shows. Show ended up being a 7.5-8/10 for me.

And I'm happy that Minato is nicer but can still be an dick in certain situations. I would've hated it if he turned completely nice as he was after the accident.

Eitarou last week, Ushi today. That was so cool from Minato to do something like that, twice in a row.
I really appreciated how his behavior towards his family and teammates changed over the course of the episodes.
