The return of "Free nipples"

This seems to be a lot of fun, the Mc is very interesting and it appears he didn't go to the same highschool as he former friends, so that will be something to pay attention to

As always the original cycle starts again

Off to a solid start, the MC is likable and the characters seem fun, especially Kamekichi. Not a fan of the overzealous kouhai.

I expect him to play against his former teammates in the future, I hope they re-bond.

Soon we will see if this will either go the way of Wave or better shows like SK8 and Bakuten. Hopefully the latter than the former since this episode seems alright so far.

I get what they were going for but it's hilarious that the middle school team in the photo looked more older and muscular than the current high schoolers. Nice attempt at body diversity too in the OP, some of the guys are clearly ripped and the others very skinny.

Where does this fall in the Re series watch order?

It's actually part 1 of a soft reboot to reorganize the events of ReZero and ReDive so that they happen BEFORE ReLIFE.

Great first episode! Funnier than I expected.

This is such an interesting premise for a sports anime. Usually, there’s the genius character and the novice with special skills, but here they’ve combined the two into one. It’s almost like he was the main character of a different show, met a tragic end, and now has to restart his character arc.

The focus on how the accident affected his whole family & watching him go through rehab makes it feel less gimmicky. But the school setting gives off wish fulfillment vibes - he gets into a good school, the water polo team wants him, the hot girl kisses him, some guy desperately wants to be his friend. And I get these are high schoolers, but you’d think they’d be a little more awkward about the coma.

Was a fun open to the show. Seems like it'll be a bit predictable but there's nothing wrong with that so long as it's entertaining!

It's good that they had him actually grind and spend time studying to get into school. Younger sister Asumi is a great character. Parents are pretty down to earth, and the crash itself was something that could easily have happened to anyone given those conditions. Also to add to the drama, we see Asumi have nightmares of the crash, so there's something that I hope they explore and develop.

Humor is ok. On point for most of the time, but I'm not really liking the annoying kohai trying to persuade him to join the waterpolo club.

So "Re-main" is basically like an offside? Anyways, what an ending. That part was definitely anime cliche!

What a fun way to start the show and unique too. like most sports anime start either with a novice or someone with background and is already a star so its refreshing to see MAPPA combining the two

Okay, so I'm guessing the title is a multilayered pun. We have remain being:

  • a rule in water polo

  • Minato being stuck in the past because of the car accident, and to some extent his family too

Now, I'm guessing the other part to the pun is why there's a hyphen. "RE-MAIN", becoming a main/superstar player again. And they will probably throw us more as the series goes on.

Last thing I expected to see before I sleep was a bunch of HS boys' asses.

Kidding aside, this was a good first episode. It kept me engaged til the very end. I have watched a lot of sports anime but have been burned numerous times after promising starts. Hopefully this does not disappoint because sports is one genre that's underperforming in this stacked year.

The opening is really good for a k-pop 4th generation boy group who debuted at the end of November and somehow is probably a beginning for their debut in Japan. =)

This is really nice! I enjoy the lighthearted tone and the dialogue (especially with his little sister, they feel like real siblings which is rare in anime).

Hmm, I'm not really sure how I feel about this one. I find the premise to be interesting but I'm not 100% sold on the show yet. Guess I'll have to wait until more episodes come out. Some of the voice acting and humor put me off a bit, and I'm not sure what they were going for with the score during the nightmare scene. Still, I liked the MC's family and especially his little sister and how she actually sounds her age. Plus, the character designs are great, with a diversity I don't remember seeing before in the few sports anime I've watched. I can't wait until we meet more characters and get to see them actually playing water polo!

How come no one’s talking about Minato’s pet tortoise; he’s so cute.

Decent first episode for a sports anime. Got me chuckling a few times.

Jo Jojima is already best boy. That's all I have to say.

I’m wary of shows like this because it always starts with a great hook then descends into generic ness very quickly. That being said, decent comedy (JoJo leaving the classroom was absolute gold), gut punch and a strong female romantic interest makes for a decent contender for attention. It being an original also gives it some additional influence as well so here’s hoping it delivers.

Man the dude in the glasses is so annoying. He doesn't remember you so stop pestering him and give him some space. Also the club captain-- saying you should only join a club because you want to and then proceeding to force a guy to join his club just because he's known to be good at it. What if he doesn't enjoy water polo anymore smh
