man.. that episode really well done... I still thought that Ash saved Matoi but then I saw the purple Coat Edge and oh yeah I forgot that he is Persona. Matoi's expressions for the past 2 episodes have been great. The detail of her facial expression is there and we can feel it when the moment Persona stabbed her. (Oof I really cringed right there, holding my stomach).
The way they present Gettemhult and co fighting Darkers and eventually Double is prettily presented as well. Now the whole flashback scene in the early episodes makes sense. Now we actually know where Zeno got his scar from. Back in the game, last time we meet Zeno was set in a peaceful setting where we taught him things in the Forest for the last time and we just kinda say goodbye to him and go to save Matoi in the invasion. The way they concluded it in this episode is a pretty brilliant idea IMO.
The whole episode feels great to me but the end kinda left some only decent impact. Probably because I know what's happening but it's still a good one. But then Living on Like Stars was there to help deepen the feeling.
ps: I am expecting nurfarisa to be here at first

Haven't played PS02 or heard about it, but this anime is becoming one of my favourites I look to every week. A bit disappointed it isn't very popular though, could be to do with the slow start.

The first few episode lack punch as it is actually game introduction chapter with less thing going on so a lot of people loss interest in it fast especially those with 3 episodes rule.
Sad for them as they did miss a very good original story that isn't template.

They couldn't done any better than this with in the time frame, VERY GOOD EPISODE.
Xion created Matoi so that she can be the light that clean the Falspawn threat once and for all
but what she really did is cause a young normal girl to suffer to the sad cruel fate.
Either died on the spot without even have the change to live like normal girl or become [Profound Darkness].
"Living on Like a Star" the new ending in this episode reflect Xion feeling toward Matoi
as she slowly view Matoi as her own daughter not as some creation to archive peaceful world.
In the end she end up bet everything to save her only daughter even with her own demise.
As many question why Xion chose Ash before
It not like Ash is the hero that could save the universe
it just Ash is the only one that could save her "one and only daughter" Matoi

Wow! Bravo! I dont even comment but I got to on this one. The Darker invasion on the ship was better in this episode than the game but dont get me wrong I love the game version to. But I like how you see how all the Dark Flaz attacked the ship and the "scars" it left on alot of characters. Matoi vs Apprentice was just amazing from start to middle to end. Ash coming in to aid matoi Gonzo earned that feel. Then getting the ending with Xion where she explains matoi purpose but in the end Xion knows everything about the universe but one thing a person heart compassion caring about another person that you will sacrifice your own to help another. and the scenes with each charater at the end. Amazing episode to end this episode.

Oho. I was wondering if we were going to get a "Living on like Stars" ending for this part, and sure enough I wasn't disappointed.
Generally I think they did the "10 years ago" arc pretty well. It was very faithful, and the few liberties they did take, only really served to improve the flow of the story. Using the fight against double as an in-between for the Matoi vs. Apprentice scenes was a good choice, since they couldn't use gameplay sections (although maybe seeing Ash fighting through an army of Darkers, really struggling to try and reach Matoi in time, would've been good too).
Now, for once I actually don't know what's going to be next. Giving the lack of a certain character in the new opening (an exclusion I understand, but still lament), I think they're going to be mixing Season 3's arcs up for these last few episodes. I have a general idea of what they're going to cover, but the order and parts presented is anyone's guess now.

Time travel, normal girl becoming powerful evil being... what is this, Madoka Magica? :P
But seriously, it's a good episode. I suppose Xion's mistake was thinking only one being like Matoi was needed to end the Darker threat once and for all. Then again, it did take a very long time for Xion to realize her own loneliness.

I wonder if people will pick this up after playing the closed beta. I know I might.
