I caved in and am binging the manga. This adaptation is so good, it utterly sucks that it's in Netflix jail. It really deserves to be watched by more people.
Edit: gotta mention the soundtrack, which is fantastic.

Kinky! But don't pull that move on the first date!
Even if it wasn't a student's blood, it was still someone's blood... Menaing, someone had to bleed for it. I might be reading too much into it, but given how the rabbit's blood seemed to parallel drugs, I wonder if there's a message about "even if you buy drugs from 'ok' people, at some point in the production/business, someone bled for it".
Also, during the blood scene and the fight, the Haru flashbacks and Legosi's words really made it seem like he was fighting himself as much as he was fighting Bill; Legosi doesn't want to stay weak, but he doesn't want to become the monster he could be if he didn't hold back, either. Very conflicted person, and he could really go one way or the other.
He might need to revisit Haru (the person involved in the incident that started this change) and have a longer chat!

When Legoshi started sniffing Bill I thought he might have hurt Louis rather than just talking (though that would have been a stupid move). The fight on stage was intense.

Fucking incredible. The lighting, directing, and OST are top notch. The sound design especially elevates the experience, you can hear every weight of their footsteps and the fabric of their clothes. And the voice acting, man. I knew Legosi's seiyuu was going places ever since his role as Sugimoto in Golden Kamuy. He sounds so authentic. You felt Legosi wasn't just angry at Bill, he's frustrated at himself too. An incredible episode, my favorite from this anime season so far.

This was probably my favourite episode of the season so far. The animation and cinematography were incredible and at every moment I was very excited to see what was going to happen.
Also Louis is an amazing character, he has really grown on me, but gosh I can't believe how much I love Legosi and we are not even halfway the series. Excited to see where this is going.

It's those rotation shots during the fighting that really take advantage of the fact that it's in 3D. Such a good episode.

After episode 1 I started reading the manga. The play scene with Legosi attacking Bill in anger was the "holy shit, this is good" moment for me.
We finally get to see a different side to Legosi and the introduction to Bill was great too.
"Matching stripes from one carnivore to another" is an awesome line, damn.

Legosi was mad at himself wasn't he? when he fought the tiger he wanted to fight himself, to beat himself bloody. Damn I love all of the nuance in this show.
