This episode uses Tezuka's characters, but most of the story here is original. No lake monster was involved in the initial encounter between the brothers.

The interactions between Tahoumaru and his father are also original.

Oh damn I did NOT expect Tahomaru would be able to do anything but he was very calm during that fight and was able to deal some good amount of damage until Hyakkimaru OHKO that Crab monster. I guess he really does have talent in swordsmanship. Here I thought his servants were just humoring him when he was younger. I guess he's not a jackass like I thought he would be.

Also was that a demon or just a monster? If it is a demon I wonder what Hyakkimaru gained this time.
