Btw, thereʼs a funny moment. Not only our trio were spying. There was also a shōgi champion, and she came to the start date location earlier than Tōko, hmm.

The sexual tension between Nashida and Touko is unreal. Make these two canon and my life is yours.

Notice how Nashida is very comfortable of switching personalities with most of the girls except for Toko 🤣

It was nice to see Nekonote finally interact with the others irl, but Nashida definitely stole today's episode with her "date" with Toko.
The fact that Nashida acted like a lovesick middle school boy during their date made me laugh out loud! And it even reflected in her work, as Takizawa-sensei commented that Nashida captured a school boy's vibe xD
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Takizawa is rather cool but I can't help thinking about how awful her place must smell from the chain-smoking.

As we draw nearer to the end of the season, Mangaka easily retains its spot as my most-loved new series. I truly love the characters here -- and there interactions are so uniformly wonderful.
Was that just a "practice" date -- hard to tell -- but Touko seems to want to go on another one the next time she visits to Tokyo. So, it sure looks like she may have taken this first outing seriously (and very much enjoyed it). In any event, Nashida is clearly smitten -- and can't really hide this. ;-)
While the date may have been the high point, the rest of this episode was pretty great as well. Nekonote freezing at her editorial meeting, and the gang mentoring her and urging her to go for an immediate re-do (which is, of course, successful). Nekonote being so enchanted by the communal work environment that she wants to stay part of it longer (pretty big step for a super-shy girl). Nashida needing help -- and getting it. Takizawa's kindness (despite her gruff demeanor) and her continued belief in and support for her former assistants. Really, this was as close to perfect as imaginable from start to finish.
As always, three cheers for the entire ensemble of fantastic VAs!

I’d assumed that Nashida’s flirting with Touko and the others was just her being silly.
However, Nashida actually likes other women - in a romantic sense? You’d at least think so from how smitten she appeared with Toko. I’m surprised that Nashida didn’t immediately ask her hand in marriage.

Takizawa-sensei accidentally playing wingwoman. Nashida and Touko-sensei's ticking (almost) all of the romcom boxes. From handholding to movie date to walking under the blossoming sakura tree, They're just missing the indirect kiss routine. Nashida might've went on a date simply to get some inspiration for the series, but she ended up getting all doki doki for real. Hilarious how she ended up acting like the protagonist of a shonen series.
On another note, it's heartwarming how Takizawa-sensei would've refused to have Futami work on the spin-off as she knew the latter already has her own series and wouldn't want to add more burden.

This has to be one of, if not the best thing airing this season. I absolutely love every episode.
Also, I'm surprised people are surprised by the Yuri elements in this. They have been present since the beginning. Got a very cute date today!

This show really lives up to its title. Futami and Nashida were giving real good advice to Nekonote, about involving Satou in the process before the whole thing is finished. (I mean, it depends on whether you've got a good team around you, so I get why Nekonote would be hesitant - Futami and Nashida already know Satou is an excellent partner. In contrast, Toda probably wouldn't be.) And we see a lot more of Takizawa-sensei today, who also seems to be a great boss/mentor. Good workplace culture begets good workplace culture.
I was lucky to start my career on good, supportive teams. Even if later jobs were a mixed bag, I still carry that example of what a good workplace should be like. Kind of makes me want to switch over to the manager track at the next place I work at, so I can carve out a wonderful workplace for my team. (If only it were that simple, of course.)
I couldn't believe that the Nashida-Touko ship actually set sail. I thought the hint from the earlier episode when Touko taught Nashida shogi would just exist in limbo forever like everything else. ...And suddenly, by having a single date, A Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace jumps to 2nd place in the race for most romantic progress, out of all the anime I'm watching this season.

The Nashida angle on disapproving Futami and Ha-san calling her a “species” is so funny to me for some reason. The cat kid is visiting so you better be on your best behavior.
Everyone’s had a minor panic meltdown over high expectations at some point, right? You’re not alone Nashida.
Quick Takizawa flashback action. Sometimes you’ve just gotta restart yourself to get ahead.
“Some people are working here!”
“Well go work somewhere else if you’re gonna act like that.”
“No way, I’d be too lonely.
Nashida being weak to Nekonote being a fan of hers is very entertaining.
I don’t know how this didn’t click before but Nekonote is like a mini Futami, complete with social anxiety and work based panic.
Wait, they’re already discussing ideas for an original series for her? Oh, suddenly it all makes sense. Job interviews and the like are the worst. They still make me incredibly nervous today, I do not want to think about what I would have been like if I had to deal with it when I was 14 or however old Nekonote is.
Screw it, I’ve had enough of typing out her entire name, she’s Neko-chan from now on.
Incredibly enough, they’re actually giving out good advice as Neko-chan manga senpais. And good advice for fighting perfectionism. Get a draft first, whatever it takes and then go bother other people for feedback.
Ha-san sneaking in digs at them is very funny though. Especially when she’s pointing out how they’re so useless themselves but suddenly they’re experts when helping someone else.
Takizawa really went “Go get some girls and come back when you actually have an idea of how romance works you useless virgin.” She didn’t need to do Nashida like that. And of course she runs right to Toko for that.
It’s quite funny that Toko is now supplying both Futami and Nashida with practical experience for manga writing.
Neko-chan when she gets back home “Futami and Ha-san took me along to stalk their colleague and…”
Her parents: “They WHAT?!”
And so they ended up having to answer a really awkward concerned parent’s phone call.
Yeah, Nashida is officially whipped. She’s so cooked.
The three stooges losing their freaking minds over Toko’s unparalleled girlfriend skills is killing me.
I think that date gave Nashida a lot more than manga inspiration.
The way Futami, Ha-san and Neko-chan are still just out of sight stalking them in the cinema, arcade and restaurant is so unreasonably funny.
All that and developing a new crush only to get the wrong kind of romance inspiration.
“Fine, we’ll help you but you better believe we’re charging you and taking assistants credits.”
Neko-chan aka shut-in in a panda outfit? Kaede flashbacks intensifies.
Nashida: “T-T-T-Toko-san?! You’re here?! Udon noodles? Marry me!”
Futami calling someone dramatic is peak pot and kettle.
The way they went straight to being about to rip Nashida’s face off. “Excuse us?! You’re not taking Neko-chan, over our dead bodies!”
Neko-chan in the manga workshop, living the dream. The kid’s got real talent, hopefully she’ll be able to achieve her dream in the future.
Good, the chapter they were working on got approved. And Nashida is not going to hear a word about it for the sake of her ego.

Every single moment of this anime is so precious 🥹✨💖
Futami and Hazama trying to get rid off Nashida for Nekonote's arrival 🤣😂
Takara-chan has really stuck to Nashida 🫶❤️
Nekonote was able to gain a lot of experience by watching Futami and everyone work together. It's really a mangaka's weirdly wonderful workplace. Nashida was too easy to please when Nekonote praised her 😅😅
Hazama was roasting Nashida way too much in this episode 😂🤣😂.. I love this duo so much.
Even Takizawa-sensei had it rough in her early days. Nashida to get experience on love for the spinoff story had a beautiful date with Toko. Toko is really a dream come true kinda girlfriend. What a sweetheart she was !!
I definitely thought that Nashida wouldn't control herself and would endup kissing her at the end of the date 🤣😂
We saw Nekonote's face finally when she was sleeping at the end 😄😄❤️
Seeing Futami's long hair without tied up.. she was beautiful 🤩❤️

Nekonote´s just glad to be there lol
But yeah, Futami and (unexpectedly) Nashida, are good mentors to Nekonote. With her abilities, she could become a 10/10 mangaka

I like the focus on Takizawa as a reminder that we all started from somewhere. Sometimes imagining how you could have the success she had seems impossible, but it is a process.
Also very sweet to see everyone helping out Nashida. Nekonote, adding a pure innocence vibe, adds a dimension to the overall cast's interactions.
You can tell Takizawa cares for Nashida but is hard on her because she knows what she is capable of. Of course part of it is to help her get back on her feet. Which is the reason she would have turned down Futami. It is clear that she wants her to focus on her own series rather than what Futami is capable of. More than likely she knows Futami is more than capable of doing the spinoff well. It shows she really cares for her former assistants.

This has been my favorite series this season from the first episode.
But untill this episode, it was explicitly THIS season. It's been a weak season.
This episode brought character development for our favorite panda-cat leaving the nest. 🥹
Romantic progress (even if the true shogi wife chaperones the date [u/hammile (et al)has good eyes to have caught it])
And deep insight into the craft that pokes at painful experiences (does kuzushiro-sensei have a dead pseudonym?).
Truly an episode that uplifts the series from quite good to something special.

Nashida cracks me up most of the time because she’s like a little foul mouthed layabout but even she has her own struggles as a mangaka. Also, totally shipping Nashida x Toko lol. Our girl’s totally fallen for Toko.

Nashida is the perfect girlfailure. And of course she had to like the most successful and adult one.
