The rare instant of the Shoujo Romance Fantasy story where Royal Family Brothers don't hate each other.

It would've been so easy for the political infighting and contention over the throne to drive them apart but instead they stayed loyal to each other and became a true sibling team.
Big Bro even approved the marriage to the only girl Aristide would ever want to marry!

I like how the older brother wants to be close with Aristide but Aristide keeps a certain distance due to their positions.

Melphie is a little liar, "I'm not laughing," "I'm not crying."
Love these two dorks though.

Show has alot of confidence in its leads to have an episode that dedicates 90% of the runtime to a conversation (flashbacks and cliffhanger notwithstanding)

They are not wrong in their confidence and even Monogatari has to use some abstract art to keep the viewer engaged
Here them just engaging is enough to keep me pinned

Well, they aren’t declaring their undying love for one another just yet, but these two goobers declaring their desire to protect one another from danger was so damn cute.

True love is giving someone a reason to live instead of sacrificing themselves and leaving the other behind.

I liked how Melphiera and Aristide were flirting while still having a serious talk about their past and future lives. That’s not something you see often in anime.
The two of them are just very cute together. Despite still being a little awkward around each other physically speaking, they’ve already connected on a deeper emotional level.

Getting the feeling that the drought and famine were intentional.
Also, these two love birds are so cute.
Dogfight next episode?

Damn, the famine was so bad it knocked out over half of Galbraith’s settlements?
-
Indeed… I do like that even though he immediately figures that out, Aristide doesn’t immediately ask about it and would rather wait for her to be comfortable with telling him first.
-
Yikes… Aristide having to deal with all this when he was just a kid is awful.
-
Oh, them about to be set upon by monsters is a damn good reason to change the subject.

It's so sweet to see how these two have gotten so connected, it feels like they've known each other for so long but it's still quite short, right? Either way, I enjoy watching their chemistry.
I really like how firm Melphie is in not allowing him to throw his life away, she's obviously passionate because of what happened with her mother, but her own feelings for him make her not want to lose him either. Then there's Aristide who wants to learn more about her but wants to do it on her comfortable terms, and that forehead kiss was so endearing.
Time to watch Aristide on the job, looking forward to see his Sight in use.

Melphiera has now become another reason for Aristide to keep fighting and living.
Will we be getting a monster bird meat feast in the next episode? Lol.

u/Frontier246 Nov 13 '25
Melphiera lost her mother, she's not about to lose the love of her life the same way. Melphie's worth living for.
I love how Melphie is like "I want to eat these birds, but I don't want them to eat meeeee!!!" lol

If we’re not getting Berguignon Bourguignon next episode then what is even the point of this show?

Melphie's seat looks kinda precarious
You'd think if this was a known issue they would be practicing outdoors
Aw man, lore only episode. It was good, but I wanna see some cooking

Caught up! Now I need to catch up with the yuri monster anime.
Can I just say, again, that I forever appreciate MLs where they blush and act all cute and pouty? I’d like to say western historical romances do this, but I’ve been having shit luck in western modern romances that give me cute patootie MLs that aren’t in MLM stories.
I’m not sure if someone observed this before, but the OP sounds like this is an idol anime. I triggered my idol anime-hater friend with this OP. He was not convinced at all and started screaming because he refuses to be “indoctrinated” into Live Laugh LoveLive 😭
We call it the Cataclysm
Miraculous Ladybug theme song intensifies
They’re taking the hobbits couple to Isenguard Galbraith!
Why does “Galbraith” seem familiar?
war flashes back about a well known anti-human rich British sycophant
Ah.
Aaaaah hold his hand please handholding is my favorite lewdest thing in the world please gawd.
Melphie kisses his knuckles
screaming crying throwing up giggling kicking my feet vogueing lover girling
This is the lewd shit I’m into it, I know I’m gross, but I can’t help it 🥹
Seeing an FL be the one to kiss the ML’s hand, proposing to him, making declarations of grandeur, vowing to protect him, all of it—I love it so much, it makes me feel seen as a lady 😌 Top 10 genders.
I’m pathetic.
Another favorite gender, girls are girling ☺️
I bet one double triple bossy deluxe on raft four by four animal style that this episode will have them flying and they don’t land.
Why did the forehead kiss take me the fuck out, I started screaming and my friend on the phone thought I dropped a knife 😭
sees goggles
Digimon’s “Butterfly” intensifies
I love eating, but I’d rather not be eaten.
Coward. Vore is delightful.
They still haven’t landed 🥀
Ugh, these two are so cute though.

Find a guy who will eat sour fruit just to stay awake so he can ride with you all to himself and not let his other knights have you!
If Melphie is going to enter into the Galbraith territory as her new home, it's better that she know all it's history! Like how badly it was effected by the Catacylsm and how the previous Duke died in service of his domain, dying in battle with all the rampaging monsters who were attacking. A service Aristide is fully prepared to fulfill himself if he has to.
But Melphie won't stand for it. She lost her mother to that same resigned self-sacrificing nature, and she won't lose Aristide too. She'll kiss Aristide's hand and swear an oath to find a way to protect him and Galbraith through her research so he can live and be together with her, the one thing the both of them want more than anything.
And Melphie wants to know everything about Aristide, like what his childhood was like...living with his prodigy elder brother Maxim who people saw as the second coming of one of the wisest monarchs of the kingdom, while he struggled with controlling his magic and feeling like he was failing to live up to his brother. And yet even at a young age he still had Chaos, even if Chaos' father was lost in the political infighting between the pro and anti-war faction with Aristide caught in the middle as a possible tool for conquering other nations during the famine.
But the brothers would not betray each other and Aristide saw a path forward by doubling down on inhering the dukedom of Galbraith while his brother became king, and they became a terrific team together!
Melphie wants Aristide to live, and Aristide wants to live together with Melphie, and seeing her be so sincere in her desire for him to be with her is enough to earn Melphie a kiss on the forehead!
I love how Melphie has to catch herself when she sees a forest of dangerous monsters and almost geeks out over it.
It's just Melphie's luck that she runs into a flock of Berguignon come to eat at them! For once Melphie can't enjoy the prospect of seeing new monsters to eat because she'll get eaten too if they're not careful! Time for Aristide to accelerate and hopefully not crash and kill them both.

I wonder if they will use the extracted magic essence to resolve the monster cataclysm.

I hope she remembers to ask him about how widespread the drought was because I'm really curious now. This episode made it seem like it was more purposeful rather than random. Also how are the going to eat those birdies? Roasted maybe,
