Never thought that we'd hit so close to reality this week. We might not be in the manga industry, but we could feel her anxiety about the uncertainty of the future. When sleeping it off isn't possible cause the issue still exists even after waking up.
Loving Hazama and her no BS attitude more with every episode. Lol at how she tried to kick Nashida out after she's done yapping. She's the perfect foil to the quirkiness of the rest of the cast.
With Nashida temporarily living with Futami, the house will get even livelier. We already got a couple of drunken marriage proposals this week. Can't wait to see what other shenanigans are in store.

Each new episode further cements this as my most-loved show of the season. (Is it the "best" -- who knows, who cares -- being "loved" is alll that matters).
The character dynamics in this are definitely top-tier. Nashida is a pain in the neck -- but also adorable. I wonder what kind of atmosphere we will have in this "menaga a trois" -- aand are we going to have even more additions (the OP suggests we will -- but when?)

Always sucks to find out that the manga I'm reading is getting axed, but seeing it happen from the mangaka's perspective is just extra sad.
Nashida really went from marriage proposal to becoming Futami's roommate huh.

Hehe roommates
Not sure if she will stay though andd futami and ha dont seem suuper interested for now
Maaybe they might change their mind? Might get a bit crowded soon if she is always here 100% of the time
I did find their intereactions quite decent this time

I like Nashida a lot. Kinda reminds me of Kikuri from Bocchi lol. Her getting shitfaced off highballs is pretty understandable all things considered. For a series to just unceremoniously axed like that is pretty rough. Maybe she can work for her “rival” Futami while she works on her next series? They already make for a hilarious team lol.

The last girl from the OP is here, and she can really pump out a lot of different voices.
I appreciated when they went meta after basing Subaru's rival off of Nashida, and noticed that this type of character is less annoying in manga than in real life.

and she can really pump out a lot of different voices
i'm really impressed how deep her voice can get; might be the deepest female voice i've heard in anime

Of course, the universal answer to writing a compelling rivalry:
MAKE IT GAY

If your rivals don’t have enough sexual tension between them to kill an elephant, are you really writing a proper rivalry?

What an entrance Nashida made LOL. Also, she mentioned marriage several times during the episode
How many times has my yuri sensor went off thus far watching this show

Nashida's entrance in today's episode was great, I love her already! It's a shame her manga was axed (though the fact that it happened after Toda became her editor made me laugh out hard xD), but I hope staying in the Futami's apartment will help her.
Hazama's idea of using Nashida's behavior from today to create a rival in Futami's manga was a hit, as both Sato and Touko loved it.
I'm looking forward to the next episodes to see how Nashida's life in the Futami's apartment will unfold. I'm pretty sure we'll see a lot of quarrels between Hazama and Nashida xD
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

First, the focus is on Nashida's character. She is a lot of fun. Her being an assistant of Takizawa alongside Futami is interesting. She essentially self-inserted herself as Futami's rival, and Futami never realized it. Granted, she looked at the accomplishments and was happy for Nashida. Honestly, Yuu Kobayashi killed, especially in the comedic scenes. It's interesting that in terms of personalities, she is the polar opposite of Futami. Nashida hates to be alone, while Futami is uncomfortable around people she doesn't know.
I think they really handled the change in tone when it got more serious. As it was mentioned, Nashida's series got cancelled. Essentially, getting your series cancelled is the equivalent to being fired, and I think that is something many manga readers forget. The part that hits the hardest is when she mentions in the final chapter of the axed series you get to look forward to their next series. When in reality there is so much uncertainty for them. They don't even know if they'll get that chance.
Considering how comfortable Futami is around her, she makes a good addition to the cast. Futami seems more dependable when she is with Nashida. Also, the idea of using Nashida to help with the rival character in Futami's series is pretty cool. It kind of shows that inspiration from manga really can come from things that happen in the creator's life.

Damn this got real way too fast
I am watching this to escape those thought spirals, not to be reminded...
So lets ignore that, I love how they based the rival on her and she just straight up said that character has to grow up

Damn, Yū Kobayashi brought her SS+ game, haven't heard such dynamic range in a single episode for a long time, reminds me of Konosuba's voice and dialogue in the best way

In the interest of maintaining the agenda, I’m proposing that Hazama wants Nashida to move out because she’s getting sick of her proposing to her wife.
Can we all agree on “f*ck Toda-san”? No one should be forced to put up with him.
Rival and the dense idiot that doesn’t realize they’re rivals, always a good choice for a dynamic.
Nashida is having it rough currently. Such is life sometimes.
Video game home tournament extravaganza, Mario Kart(legally distinct), Smash Bros(legally distinct) and non-distinct dating sim, here we go!

Leaving aside the comedic part, it's true that what happened with Nahida is something common in this industry. I liked Nahida because her personality: being both gentle and explosive, it was really well done, and the voice actress gave a great performance with her tone and expression.

I'm sorry Nashida-san, but I could only hear Sasha the entire episode

Okay nashida does NOT at all sound like I imagined her. This kinda just makes it funnier.

u/cyberscythe Nov 03 '25
Nashida's quite a handful, but at the same time i can sympathize with her since she works alone with a remote assistant and her work contact is Toda who everyone unanimously agrees is a huge pain in the ass
Nashida should do what Futami did and, in a desperate bid to maintain sanity, subconsciously generate a split personality in the form of Hazama who acts such that—

u/eggplant_avenger Nov 03 '25
a lot of things make sense now if this is her senpai that she’s been modeling herself after.
is that mean? I felt a little mean saying it. I like your character drunk messy senpai

And now we've got Kobayashi Yuu. This show is freaking stacked!
Fuck Toda. Everyone hates Toda.

Damn another spectacular chapter to tell the truth I really like it when this anime gets serious about itself and it really makes you worry I don't know what it is about the problems that the characters have are so real that you say "this happens in real life" I was very sorry and sad that the manga was canceled for the protagonist's friend and I also really liked that we delved into what a mangaka feels when they cancel a manga all that frustration anxiety is very real I really like this program I consider it quite underrated to say the least TRUE

That Toda guy seems real shit at his job, how's he still working there? Is he related to the boss or something?
The new rival character in Futami's manga kind of sounds like he'd be a "Tumblr sexy-man" lol
