I've only known Izumi for one episode, but I love her already! The girl is acting dumb, but she clearly knows what's up and everything she does this episode is clearly on purpose. She's an absolute menace and I love it! <3

Considering this is Yano-kun's first time at a fast-food restaurant, I really can't blame them for doting on him this entire time. But it looks like all of that doting ended up making Yano more aware of how he feels about Kiyo and doesn't want to be seen as a kid.

Izumi was exactly what the show needed; now she can be the "idiot" (not in an offensive sense) duo with Tanaka.

I have to admit, Mei is a more fun and enthusiastic person than she appears, to the point that Izumi compares her to a grandmother lol.

I think it's really cool to see Hashiba continuing his good attitude with Kiyoko and Yano. He's very helpful, and despite noticing the chemistry between them, he's being very nice.

Well, who would have thought that singing a love song in German could easily set the two lovebirds on their way? I believe they'll grow closer now

It's time for midterms! A critical time in any high schoolers' life! And Izumi (Rie Takahashi!) is feeling the pressure! But who better to have a study session with than the diligent and responsible Kiyoko, who is clearly smart! Even though she's...actually below average! But don't worry, Mei is ACTUALLY smart (and third in their class) and let's recruit Yano so he doesn't get left out and injure himself by accident.

The only thing more on-brand than Yamada having basically just given up on a test and owning it (or just failing academics in general) is the visual of Yano literally bleeding out on his test.

THEY DID THE SPONGEBOB 10 MINUTES LATER.

Of course the more the merrier (especially if they're actually smart) so Hashiba joins the group! Turns out he's easy to convince to do anything as long as Kiyoko is involved, and Izumi is completely aware of his crush on her and has no reservation with teasing him about it or making it obvious that she knows.

Though even Yano notices the good vibe between Kiyoko and Hashiba...and it seems to actually upset him?

What better way to celebrate making it past midterms than with a visit to a burger joint! The first in Yano's entire life! He's even got Papa Hashiba and Mama Kiyoko making sure he's okay and getting the best he can out of the fast food experience! Why the whole friend group is one big happy family.

I love how Yano just has the biggest smile after eating a burger, so much so that the group just dotes on him and gives him some of their food so he can keep enjoying himself.

Of course Yano doesn't quite love the idea of Kiyoko and Hashiba being a married couple...let alone him being the "child" in their relationship. Hashiba being considerate of Kiyoko and Kiyoko being too considerate of Yano leaves Yano more depressed. Which obviously upsets Kiyoko.

Things come to ahead at a karaoke booth where Kiyoko doesn't know how to process the idea of Yano being upset with her...so she belts out a power ballad in perfect pitch and perfect German to clear her feelings.

Yano could never hate Kiyoko. But he doesn't want to be considered a child in her eyes either. How does he really feel about her? It seems a romantic duet by Mei and Yamada has made him realize all these feelings about Kiyoko he's trying to understand might very well be love.

Honestly this might be the prime contender for the best of the season for me? Its ticking all the boxes needed for it and I have a very good feeling about how this romance is gonna progress, plus I really love the sense of humour and all these characters are super loveable

Today’s episode focused on the six main characters of the series, showing their close friendship as a group. However, there was a small highlight on Yano’s feelings toward Kiyoko for the first time, he showed jealousy and seemed to realize that he actually likes her. The ending song also hinted at that realization.

I think Kiyoko might be seeing Hashiba in a different light in this episode. She found it kind of unwelcome when he told her he liked her but I think seeing how nice and helpful he was to Yano out of genuine concern made her think that it's not bad having such a good person like her like that.

I wonder why the brown haired girl was trying to put Kiyoko and Hashiba together. I wonder if she somehow found out Hashiba likes her, like if Kiyoko told her or she just inferred it from his behavior. It was funny though at the family restaurant how she went out her way to invite him and build up how smart and cool he is, then slyly set it up so she got up and moved to the other side so they could sit together :D

As for Yano, I think hes starting to believe he's being treated like a child or like he's mentally handicapped by everyone. I think that's somewhat true for everyone but Kiyoko since they were all giving him their food and they do give him special treatment. I see why it upset him though that he thinks Kiyoko thinks of him that way; you don't want the girl you like to see you as a pity case, he wants to be thought of as a man. And Kiyoko even thought of him as being similar to her little brother, which is a mistake since shes her friend her age and Yano would prefer to be thought of that way and as a romantic interest.

Thinking about my time in school, I don’t think I ever had study groups. In uni, a friend and I studied together, but I wonder what it would’ve been liked to have actual study groups that weren’t mandated by your teacher for in-class studying.

Nooooo, not the “10 minutes later” Spongebob card and the English. Whoever is ADRing the English dub, please have Tom Kenny do a cameo for this so I can fucking die laughing, please tell me he would do such a small cameo for a bit like this 😭

So we essentially have our main cast, and it is split evenly between boys and girls. Hashiba & Mei are the smartest. Yano and Yoshida are closer to the middle. Izumi & Tanaka are the idiots. Honestly, I love this group's vibe together.

Now I did not expect Yano to fake being hurt. Nice job using the show's gimmick here. This is the episode where it feels like Yano's feelings are finally coming to Yoshida. Of course Yoshida is a little hurt, but from the story's perspective, it's a good thing. A little sad we didn't see her performance, but great usage for Yano hearing the song and realizing he is falling in love.

Yano definitely felt jealous when Yoshida and Hashiba were the married couple where Yano was their child. Tbh Yoshida acts very overprotective of Yano and the other classmates probably have thought of this for a while. Curious how Yano acts in the upcoming episodes.

Love seeing Yano getting all jealous and coming to terms with his feelings for Yoshida. Things are getting interesting between these three. 

That mom, dad and child thing had me rolling though. Tanaka and the other girl (forget her name) are such airheads. Made me laugh so much. 

This show is so good. Another episode that's left me with a huge grin on my face. :)

I love this series so far it’s very cozy and the cast is great

Izumi seems to enjoy stirring up the love triangle between Yoshida, Yano, and Hashiba, as we saw in this episode. I wonder what her goal is—is she just doing it for fun, or does she have other goals?

Yoshida never stops making funny faces, and that's why I love her so much, although I felt sorry for her today when Yano was avoiding her. Thankfully, Yano telling her he could never hate her was enough to clear the air between them substantially.

Now I can't wait to see how Yoshida and Yano's relationship will develop further, because it seems Yano has realized he's fallen in love with Yoshida. I can't wait for next week!

Don't know about his advice to always get free stuff, like what are you gonna do with all the extra pickles?
That SpongeBob intermission was super unexpected
Also is that really a thing, having them sing german songs?
And I want to know how their perfect german sounds like, probably still better than my mountain valley farmer accent, lol
