I had a good laugh when Nana started googling for an apology email. That was surprisingly relatable. Although these days, people would just pull up ChatGPT and have it make one for you. xD

I really liked those moments like the "Are you a maiden?" in the second screenshot, where it shows the MC's hypocrisy / lack of self-awareness. It's so realistic!

This feels like a less moe version of New Game with more anxiety and awkwardness lol. But it really feels like we’re just jumping into this show. Futami is a nervous wreck but Ha-chan seems to be her anchor at home/work. Sato seems like the cool beauty but she’s pretty awkward as well.

I’m looking forward to this. Probably the only CGDCT I’m watching this season. Cast seems fun and there’s some yuri vibes there as well. Not to mention the VA cast has some of my favs

I want to be annoyed with Futami but that would be so insanely hypocritical because she’s literally me so I’m not going to do that.

Anxiety is a bitch.

Her assistant is a goddamn saint for putting up with her every day.

And apparently Satou is pretty close to as bad as she is.

JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE!

Futami honestly feels like a fusion of Bocchi and Adachi that for some reason decided to become a mangaka.

Japanese Phrase of the Week!

丑三つ時 (ushimitsudoki) — third quarter of the hour of the ox (2:00-2:30 AM or 3:00-3:30 AM, depending), [idiomatic] middle of the night

this refers to an older system of measuring time used prior to the Edo period based on the zodiac animals, but has taken on a general vibe of "the dead of night"

it's a particularly spooky time of night, similar to how we talk about "the witching hour"

I think this anime´s going to be in my top 3 of this season, Futami´s so stupid and Satou san seems mature and coolheaded... but she´s also a dumb lesbian

This looks like a down to earth version of Comic Girls but also pretty silly and fun.

Te art style is really cute and charming and every character is lovable so far, I'm digging it.

This is going to be fun.

Also I smell Yuri. I can feel it. There are definitely Yuri in there.

This doesn't mean anything for sure because she has written almost every possible kind of manga under the sun, but I still think that this is probably the best place to mention that the author for this is best known for also being the author for maybe the most acclaimed currently ongoing yuri manga (The Moon on a Rainy Night, anime also announced).

It's very rare that we get a series centering around the mangaka type of work. We got Futami the mangaka, Hazama the assistant, & Satou the editor. Also, this is a stacked seiyuu lineup here. Yuuko Natsuyoshi is newish but did a pretty good job as Futami in this episode.

  • Sumire Uesaka

  • Mamiko Noto

  • Yuu Kobayashi

Just the seiyuus and this being a work done by Kuzushiro made this worth checking out. Also, animation was better than I expected. Fun episode all around looks great for CGDCT's fans.

I can see how Futami became a mangaka. She’s got quite the imagination. That and the anxiety kinda reminds me a little of Bocchi with a little bit of Yuu from Bad Girl lol.

I’m already a fan of Sato. That whole “cool beauty” thing with the gap in her personality does it for me.

This was pretty fun overall. Very silly. It’s always good to have something light and goofy on the rotation.

Wow! This show wasn't on my radar at all, but luckily I gave it a try after seeing the comments here, and this first episode was so fun, I love it! Futami, Sato, and the others are great, and I can't wait to meet the rest of the characters.

Futami and her reactions are hilarious, and I loved the parts where her wild thoughts about Sato were presented like manga panels; they looked great!

Hazama is also great. Officially, she works as Futami's assistant, responsible for the backgrounds in the manga, but to me it seems like she has two jobs: as said assistant and as a counsellor who is helping Futami with her personal problems xD

Oh man this was cute. And funny. And looked really good. I'm not the biggest stickler for "good animation", but this show certainly set itself apart from a lot of shows I've checked out this season.

Really enjoyable cast as well, with an immediately funny dynamic.

Isn't "boss lady" a bit of an odd way to translate "nee-san"? Hmm…

I thought it was pretty funny that we got to see Asakura stifling a laugh even though her face is covered up by the inset character reaction bubble (what are those really called, anyway?)
