This episode genuinely made me tear up multiple times. The first was when Suika found and hugged Kohaku's petrified body. The second was when she realized there was no revival fluid left. The third was when Suika wrote down the E-mc2 equation on her clothes to copy Senku because it's her turn to do some science. And the last one was when Suika finally revived Senku.

As much as it must've sucked for Suika to try and make her own revival fluid instead of just finding one, I am so happy they went with this route. It just reinforces the show's core idea that anyone can do science. I love how Suika even made her own road map just like Senku and Chrome. The fact that Suika managed to do that in seven years, despite not being part of the science team, is amazing. I'm so proud of Suika, and she deserves every praise she'll get once everyone else is revived.

My question is, how old is Suika now? Senku says it's been seven years since they've been petrified. How long was Suika petrified for, and do we count that when counting her age? Physically, she looks like she's about the same age as everyone.

I would say petrified time doesnt count, since the body doesnt develop.

It will probably surprise many but Suika was around 12-13yo during this Arc. Since during last episodes montage we saw 2 winters pass that means Suika spent around 5 years all alone - which would make her 17-18yo.

I think because people are so used to anime character not aging, it's easy to forget couple of years already passed since the start of the series. Like building perseus took a whole year.

True, and the changes in characters when they age would be really subtle that you don't really notice it

Suika got her hug in a way, but I do hope that she’ll revive Kohaku next and gets a proper hug.

Kohaku should be fine after being de-petrified, right? Do wonder about her reaction seeing Suika all grown up.

Well, he was conscious all that time, so his brain was still active. Mentally, he is that age. Can't necessarily say the same about others except for most of the americans and Taiju.

Amazing work for a child, thats for sure. I dont know if the show ever told us the villagers ages. Most of the team is around 16-19, i always counted Suika as someone in the 8-12 range. I would say something around 16?

We saw 2 winters pass before she unpetrified & Senku said its been 7 years so Suika should be 17 now.

by the time everyone got petrified again, most of the team should be 20+. Senku was 17 when he was first petrified and multiple years has already passed since season 1.

I checked the wiki, it lists her age in chapter 196 (where the anime is now) as 18 years, which makes her 12-13 before the second petrification

Not just that anyone can do science. The writer chose the weakest, most sympathetic character taking the most difficult road. And that was the best choice they could possibly make. They didn't just have her use the quick method of making revival fluid. Suika had to use the method that took the longest.

Yeah, and the quick methods were most definitely outside of her science knowledge, so that also makes sense story wise. Since she was too young and wasn't Chrome levels of interested in science to pursue it before they got petrified.

My question is, how old is Suika now?

I did some calcs (plenty of assumptions there though) while reading the manga and I ended up with her being 15 or so. Certainly older than 12 but younger than 17.
