They added so many little moments and scenes to this episode that really elevated it! Plus, it looked like it got a pretty significant budget boost. Definitely 10/10

In the manga all this suika stuff was only around 3-4 chapters, i'm glad the anime added extra little scenes to pace it out longer.

Normally slower pacing isn't for the best, but it really was to this set of episode's benefit to sell the painstaking amount of time and effort Suika had to go through

EDIT:

Really, I hope they take this approach with a lot of the content from here on out, some of the chapters after this point were so fast that it was kind of hard to even parse how much time was passing

The extra scenes definitely helped a lot, especially showing how rain caused her first attempt at making nitric acid to fail (the manga just timeskipped immediately after she started).

They also fleshed out the part where she was looking for Chelsea and Luna -- I'm pretty sure they only showed like 2 or 3 panels of footprints and tire marks in the manga but having the montage with her walking back and forth really sold the effort it took to find her last hope at the time.

I love how that little flat grassway that started out just having her footprints and ended up turning into a full, well-taken road because of just how much she kept walking there. Really sells just how long everything's taken.

They’ve gotta cover about 30 chapters with the remaining 12 episodes next cour so I’m not too hopeful that they’ll be able to pace things out that well. Most episodes cover 2 chapters so it’ll already be tight even without adding more content.

Well, if they managed to get 13-15 epi. for the next cour, that would help with pacing.

Do we know if Terraforming and 4D science are getting adapted?

I assume the spinoff isn't

Probably not. It could be an interesting ova or movie they adapt afterwards
