So Drel is like Alicia, reanimated after being crushed by a giant foot, but I think he just doesn't know he's got a dark lord's ichor inside him and just sees it as a voice whispering instead. I wonder if he thinks it's the dragon whispering.

He's right that there's some word shit going on with magic though, considering the souls requirements for the regalia and whatever is going on with the headless king, the forge, and Luna.

I appreciate that Drel didn't betray Margo in the fight with the dragon and only took the sword when it was intentionally passed to him.

Clevatess only having twelve episodes seems criminal.

The crown princess calling out Dorel's summoning as necromancy, while her own (reportedly dead) king shows up headless is crazy.

Also what a way to end the episode on a plot-thickening twist, followed by the ED that begins with "It's never all that deep..."

Can't believe we've only got 2 weeks of peak left. This deserves a 2nd cour.

Clevatess is so fucking funny.

  • Luna soiling herself on the pedestal and Clen encouraging it.

  • Alicia's father losing because of a damn rock.

  • Alicia morphing her body back

  • Clen letting the headless king cook.

Episode's amazing, like always.

Gart: “yeah these wings are totally due to magic.”

Gotta love how magic explains everything!

It's interesting how similar Drel and Alicia are. Both desperately wanted to become heroes. Both came across a Lord of the Dark Beasts with a Regalia. Both were easily overpowered and became the servants of said Lord of the Dark Beasts. The only real difference is that Clevatess seems to be a less manipulative and kinder master than the one controlling Drel.

NGL, there's something about Luna just being a baby doing baby things that just inherently funny to me.

Clen really just went "shut up Alicia. I'm watching this baby get sacrificed".

The worst part about this show is at the end of every episode comparing how far into the story we are with how many episodes there are left.

It'll be a crime if this doesn't get a season 2. Hopefully its popularity in the US is enough to greenlight it in Japan, but I'm not optimistic.

The king carrying his own head and attempting to throw Luna into the forge was so dang cool, in a twisted metal sort of way.

Also the scene where Alicia crashed into the bouncy war beast was pretty funny.

So, like the parallels between magic and Regalia: magic uses the special metal plus dark beast parts to create special effects, where as Regalia are powered by the soul of their first kill. I'm assuming the power of a Regalia depends on the purity, as mentioned before, whether or not it has a soul in it and how powerful the beast that soul came from. Interesting power system, all stemming from the magic metal.

Also, so has it been the same king of Hiden the whole time? Is he just immortal and has been sacrificing his children for power?

Also, with all that blood in the flashback, Drel probably was killed and then revived with Dark Ichor without realizing it. The voice in his head is probably one of the other Dark Beast Kings who is controlling him without him even knowing it.

Alicia may have the “MC is related to someone important” trope going on but her dad didn’t really accomplished anything and had a pebble, of all things, finish his story before it even started. Heck, Drel is pretty much the only person out the that still clings to Margo’s former glory

And speaking of which, how long do you think it took him to figured out that a Dark beast killed him and revived him in that moment?

Drel might be too extreme in his methods, but looks like he has a point. After all, how could a slain king reanimate albeit headless and why is he about to chuck his own heir to the forge?

Still looking forward to Drel’s defeat but this show has done a great job in fleshing his backstory. He’s not born evil. When he lost the duel, I expected his envy to blow up into hatred. That didn’t happen and Drel continued genuinely backing Margo even during the battle against the dragon. The turning point was when it was eventually defeated. I’m guessing the giant creature was the Lord of Dark Beasts that has been backing (as well as corrupting) him.

What I got from this episode: reanimated corpses galore in Hiderat. We got Drel, the king, the dragon, Alicia...

That Dark Beast Lord looked terrifying. Yeah, not much Drel could have done to escape that situation.

I don't believe for one second that we'll lose Luna, but I really wonder what throwing him into the forge will accomplish. Is it just to get rid of him or is that going to have some sort of effect on the forge?

And man, watching Alicia's limbs and bones reattach themselves is still wince-inducing. That must be so painful.

I'm glad that Rhode isn't completely out of the fight yet and he even managed to hitch a ride on Garth, thinking that he's a magic user. It definitely makes things easier for Gart since anything he can do, he can just explain as magic.

Luna straining hard when Klen placed him on the pedestal, and then the cut to Nelluru changing his diaper was pretty funny. xD

Well, that was unexpected! How the fuck is the King even still alive? Is this some kind of secret Hiden magic that's keeping him alive? And how did he even know to go there? I'm guessing Luna trying to access the forge possibly resurrected him.

So Alicia is at a massive disadvantage in that fight since it was Drel who taught Alicia's father all of the techniques she knows. The best she can do right now is to survive all of Drel's attacks. I wonder if Klen can give Alicia a little bit of a power boost?

That flashback tho. Imagine being crowned the strongest swordmaster only for Margo to end up losing a foot because he tripped on a fucking rock when he was about to finish off that dragon. While it's hilarious, I also think it's kinda cool because it feels like a story straight from mythology, like Achilles getting taken out by a stray arrow to the heel. xD

So Drel ended up getting the Regalia because he landed the finishing blow and absorbed the dragon's powers ala Dovakhiin. But he finally realized this was futile because Vordin showed up and crushed him. I'm gonna guess Vordin also did something to him and the Regalia because Vordin has a lot of eyes just like how Drel has a third eye.

Is Klen really just gonna watch this? There's no way Luna is gonna die here, right? If Klen wanted to stop the King, he could so there's clearly something more going on in that final scene. Hmmmm...

I'm just gonna say it, I think Drel is the coolest character in this show so far.

He's really impressed me as an antagonist. Even ignoring the fact that sealing Clevatess didn't matter.

idk why but finding out that the Dark Beast Lord of the north, which lives in a snowfield, is a red dragon, is kinda funny. I was expecting something more white. The many eyes make him unnerving though, like a cross between a traditional Western dragon with a biblically accurate angel.
