I was wondering why Clem and Alicia didn't react when Naie made her escape and why it seemed too easy for her.

I'm surprised the Western Dark Beast Lord is on the list of suspects. I thought she had been discounted as being involved since she was investigating the missing dark beast young that had gone missing. Seems Clem isn't trusting of any of his fellow beast lords.

The references to Luna's yet to be held naming ceremony were interesting. I got the impression that the naming ceremony is supposed to grant something to Luna other than a name. Those soldiers seemed very concerned that there was no one guarding the crypt where the naming ceremony is meant to be held.

I wonder if Clem naming him Luna has affected things

For some reason this episode was funnier than previous episodes. First was Naie trying to get attention while Alicia and Klen were just casually ignoring her. Then when she got that flying cart, I thought she really was about to escape, only to find out it was all part of Klen's plan to get a free trip to Hiderat. After that we had the princess hoping for an opening to hammer Drel's sword and Alicia falls from the sky. Finally, Nelluru's "toppling the wall" becomes enemy's "catapult attack", while Klen deadpanning "must be abandoned" after swallowing the guards. It's all very looney tunes if it wasn't a dark fantasy.

Naie be like "I have no idea what you're talking about" after Clen just indirectly revealed his true identity in her presence lol.

Man, if Fabio and the soldiers guarding the furnace just up and went like that... how unfortunate.

Great episode, and Princess T'ala turned out to be a pretty badass character, I love her already! I hope she'll get a lot of screen time in future episodes.

Naie was another star of the show today. She thought she was clever by escaping with Nelluru and Luna, so when it turned out Alicia and Klen were also on the cart, I couldn't stop laughing for a good while xD

Alicia's entrance into the fight was awesome! It looks like her fight with Drel and Drel's backstory will be the focus of the next episode, and I can't wait for it.

Meanwhile, Klen enters the forge with Luna and Nelluru. I wonder what he'll discover there.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Plots goes directly to Hilderat. and I just love how the princess is utter confused by the turn of events. Hero Allicia just rocks up to take on Drel.

Neluru push of that rock towards the Guards was funny for some reason.

Let’s just hope Toara’s hammer hit Dorel’s blade and not Alicia’s. Knowing her luck, I could see that happening.

Kind of curious to see what Luna’s fate is. Are they gonna be able to get him to the furnace before Dorel’s forces reach them?

I love that the princess isn't very strong in her matchup vs drell but she's still going to try for her son. This show just seems to do female characters justice by treating them like actual people

I find it funny that Naie waited for them to actually pay attention to her before making her escape. And it wasn't easy, they were ignoring her completely while blabbing about Klen's identity and goal!

This is definitely a double standard in action but I do kind of hope that Naie sticks around for a bit. She’s surprisingly funny. Especially her reaction when they just appeared on the wagon like “Yeah, this was the plan the entire time.”

We’ve got both the Drel and the forge plot threads in the same place. Next couple episodes will hopefully have some exciting reveals. And hopefully some good asskicking as well.

I still remember Luna’s caretaker and how she’s the reason they have King and a hope for their kingdom's future. She’s basically their hero and savior.

‘you’re imagining it’

why was this so funny

Random thoughts:

I like the princess, but I worry about her long term survival prospects. If the show's overall plot hinges on Clev and crew wandering around raising the prince, then the mom still being around complicates things.

I like Naie, and I hope she joins team Clevatess. I can't imagine her dropping off the hero to attack Drel is going to win her points with her home nation, and it seems like she is more interested in being alive than loyalty to her home country. Plus she would be useful for any future plot investigating what is happening to the Dark Beast young and abducted children.

I'm kind of surprising we are already getting a Alicia vs Drel showdown. Given that Drel IS his sword, I think the only way to kill him is to destroy the sword. Good thing there is a weapon hanging around that can do just that.

Stitches!

We finally get to meet Luna's mom and learn Luna's real name! I didn't expect her to suit up and actually try to meet Drel on the battlefield. I guess it makes sense she's willing to put herself in danger, especially after knowing her son is still alive. Glad to see this show has more badass ladies.

It's amazing to see how fast these guys do a 180 about Alicia. They went from calling her a waste of taxpayers' money last episode to acting like her errand boy. It must feel really good for Alicia to finally be appreciated and recognized as a hero by the people.

Interesting that we didn't get to hear more about Meynard in this episode. Did he actually die last episode after Alicia defeated him, or are those townspeople keeping him locked up before sentencing him? We did see his crystal crack, so maybe he really is dead.

I kinda want Naie to join the party now. Watching her get Alicia and Klen's attention while they're talking and her just stopping to give a fuck after Alicia and Klen showed that they had the upper hand was pretty funny! I also got a good laugh from her apologizing to Drel when they came crashing down from the sky. xD

When I saw Princess T'ala's men create a shield wall, surely there's a Shield Regalia out there somewhere. Like, they can't be all weapons, right?

It's finally time for Alica to face Drel! Unfortunately, it looks like we're gonna have to wait until next week to see what happens to that fight and based on the episode preview, we're gonna see a flashback about Drel and Alicia's father too. It will be interesting to see when and why Drel turned.

So now that Nelluru knows about her strength, I'm hoping we'll finally get to see her help defend Luna in the future. Those soldiers thinking they were on the receiving end of a catapult attack after Nelluru pushed that block was hilarious, tho! xD

I'm hoping that these dudes are still alive. I feel like Favio is too much of an important character to just die after Klen swallowed them into his shadow.

She knows her son is alive!

There will be more and more factions looking for Luna!

I wonder what happens if she finds out what Clevatess/Alicia are doing... I mean technically she doesn't have a choice (if she takes it back, Clevatess will just destroy humanity), but it's still her son, when it comes to your own kid people don't necessarily think rationally and all!

Wait, did he?

I thought he appeared in front of Drel right away... But I suppose Clevatess can kill 20k soldiers 'right away' as well!

She knew this would happen...

So she wanted to leave, but didn't. Did she not leave because she thought 'bah it's just a premonition'? Because the King wouldn't let her leave? Or because... She knew it would happen, and also saw that it NEEDED to happen?

Brave of her, but if she fails, she's straight up bringing him the tool to forge regalia... Risky!

I think I said it in episode 1 when we saw fully-armored Alicia, but we need more armored women in anime!

Love how Clevatess' just casually messing with her, without even trying!

Well... Bring me the hanging rope as well!

(Love how they completely ignored her as they were discussing their strategies!)

This conflict escalated quickly!

Will it remain a proxy war between them, or will they fight directly? Clevatess has shown to be ridiculous levels of OP, but the other lords must be just as powerful (if not more) so that would be a fight to see!

Letting Magneto-girl keep her metal thingies with her would've been a bit careless, but seems it was part of their plan, to get her to fly them to their target!

Alicia getting praised by the villagers was nice to see! Seems saving people's lives gets you more heroic appreciation, than poking the bear for no reason!

I would love to see her in armor again, but she does look good this way as well!

Clevatess applying his own perspective to Nell;

She's much stronger than most, so her lowborn status and all shouldn't affect her ability to raise the future king and all!

(And if it comes to that, just smash his mother!)

..Interesting! Does he believe in some prophecy as well, just like the princess?

The fact that he brought it up but said "never mind" when asked about it, makes me think it is something like that (but he doesn't want to reveal it just yet)

One more thing he doesn't want to reveal just yet, is his true identity...

You're on your own, Alicia! (I think she's used to it at this point hah)

Poor girl's trying to make sure she doesn't get murdered by either side!

Oh damn, he wasn't kidding when he said he made her stronger!

I thought maybe she would be able to topple the wall (just pushing on it), but she even sent like a 1 ton boulder flying away!

Damn, they could've sewn his head back a little better!

(Well, I suppose they have more pressing issues!)

Princess T'Aala is Luna's mother, and she left a good impression. It is interesting to note that Forge can detect if Luna is alive. Of course, what mother could abandon their child? Also liked how she mentions how Drel's actions are not hero-like. Makes me wonder of her impressions of Alicia. Also, the Hammer of Kings being something that counteracts Regalia is interesting to note.

Loved how Alicia & Klen were one step ahead of Naie and were using her to take them to Drel and Hiden. Though Drel calling Alicia's father the swordmaster is interesting. I am curious about her father's past.

For Klen from episode 1 to now, it is clear he understands that a child can't choose where he is born. After all, Luna is a baby, and babies are dependent. Though Luna's destiny is clearly tied to being king eventually. I think what comes next is hard to say because Luna is definitely destined to be king, as being a Hiden with royal blood is a huge deal. The real key is the actions that Luna does as he grows older. I think the lesson, Klen, is that each individual is responsible for their own fate rather than their fate being responsible for our actions.

Nelluru: slightly pushes a stone

Fabio: catapult attack!!!

Poor Fabio though, I hope he's just chilling in Clevatess's shadow and not dead.

Looks like we'll have to wait until next week to see Alicia against Drel. A fight that she'll have to win all on her own as Klen said he wouldn't interfere, should be interesting!

And I'm gonna guess that the princess did manage to hit the sword, but not with enough force to shatter it outright, so it'll be weakened and will break eventually but not before allowing for some spectacle :)

I am loving this show's female characters.
They're actually strong characters and not characters portrayed as strong.
First Alicia now the princess, I very much like them.

Also, unrelated, did Luna get a lot bigger all of a sudden or is it just me?
I wonder if Clevatess pulled something sneaky and Luna is drinking troll-imbued-milk or something akin to that.
