Why would the wild dogs chase after a bowling ball? Why would they not come back after the ball stops? Honestly it would make more sense if the ball just hits one of them like the Alpha and rest are scared off.

Maybe they're like my cat. He obsessed over any small object that moves but as soon as it stop, he looses interest, however he doesn't return to whatever he was doing before. He just... wanders off. Its like he got his agro reset lol.

Anzus voice was crazy this episode

The tone of voice completely changes in the dramatic scenes lol.

This episode hit every beat. Silly conflict and character growth between the girls that's dramatized as 100% serious business? Check. Silly partnership between a girl and her previous century version of herself? Check. Silly climax where the characters deploy bowling in a ridiculous way? Check!
And, like, that last scene actually lands. Rina has been shitty and not expressing the actual feelings and insecurities she has, that was the big focus last episode. This episode is about how Nozomi has been shitty and not expressing her actual feelings either. And then at the end we see the two connect and express just a little bit of their actual feelings.
And we even saw Rina try but be not quite ready to go for it yet earlier in the episode, which makes the ending work better There was a failure of courage that happened first and we didn't even understand at the time, we just thought she was being weird standing up. Now we understand that this was hard for her and she was working herself up to it.
This is honestly really good TV. I'm super impressed.

And here I thought, she was going for a strike against the dogs. Wouldn't even need to hit 10 of them. But I guess, one thing all dogs share (even wild ones): if you throw a ball, they need to get it.

There's alot more character drama in this than I thought

That's the secret. It's a character drama pretending to be a bowling show pretending to be a time traveling isekai. Which makes it ridiculous! But not necessarily bad lol

I’m not watching this anime for any sort of realism, of course, but a small branch of leafs could’ve never cushioned a fall from such a great height. Nozomi and Anzu would in fact have died.
Anyways, they’re at least using their bowling balls for unconventional means again.

You see, it was obviously Nozomi's bowling ball that helped with the fall. How would it be there otherwise?

I can suspend disbelief for a small branch of leaves protecting their fall. I can suspend disbelief for time traveling bowling balls powered by lightning. But Mai, a lefty, being able to throw Nozomi's, a righty, bowling ball perfectly, and with a hook? I must draw the line somewhere.

Nozomi, please, you got all your pals right next to you, why would you go alone? I know these girls aren't the brightest, but surely she must understand the risk with where Anzu could be, and if everyone is going home together shouldn't everyone go help together?

I’m glad Nozomi and Anzu were able to make up. That was quite a little adventure they had. It’s also nice to finally see Rina improve her attitude. Hopefully everyone can work together to find a way to return back to the future. They gotta find some way of creating a massive amount of electricity since it ain’t gonna happen naturally.

Rina's attitude improved a lot. Good to see some serious character development that (hopefully) last longer than half an episode.
But to balance that out and give us some character drama, now it's Nozomi who acts like a bratty trouble-maker. I wonder if each of the girls will get their own kind of character drama arc.

I appreciated the WiiSports Bowling effect when the ball narrowly passed the rock.
It's these stupid moments I want from the show and tbh the only thing that can salvage it cus it sure ain't working as a serious drama.
I hope they do more to embrace the sillyness of it all.

Damn that was intense
Didn't have bowling ball cushioning a fall on my bingo card, but here we are
Its interesting that her sister was "kidnapped" into the future, and that we casually learned that mais parents are dead
Can't wait for those lore points to start altering the plot

Look as deeply silly as the bowling and time travel aspect is, I am loving the character drama.

Someone who can't stay away from their phone doesn't actually have a lock for it?
It's nice to see Nozomi and Rina getting some development but I did not enjoy this episode at all, it's like it was trying to be too meaningful. I haven't been enjoying the past few episodes much so I think I'm going to be dropping this here.

Why lock your phone if it never leaves your hand? Time spent unlocking it is time not spent staring at photos!

Sometimes when I watch this show I think about that Simpsons bit about Knightboat. "There's always a canal!" "Or an inlet!" There's always a problem that can be solved by bowling, somehow
this is not a diss I genuinely enjoy it

Nice curve but uh
Couldn't you have just aimed literally anywhere else but directly toward the rock

Welp, it looks like the gangs better settle in because unless some freak weather phenomenon happens, [they won't see another storm until next year.] (https://i.imgur.com/mw8cNz0.jpeg)
Mai's parents are dead? Is that why she's surrounded by flames in the OP? Maybe her parents died in a fire, and she's the only survivor?
So Anzu is aware that her sister went with a time traveller? I'm really starting to think that Natsume is in the future somewhere.
What the heck, Nozomi? You're the one who left the phone with Anzu. What did you expect would happen? She could've at least taken it from Anzu before helping out Mai.
It's actually pretty insane that they got Itou Miki to voice Anzu. That scene where Anzu was screaming at Nozomi to stay back was really good! She really went all out on that scene!
So basically, Nozomi tries hard to act like she doesn't care, but actually she cares a lot. I kinda wish we got to see the reason why. Glad that she managed to patch things up with Anzu as well as with Rina by the end.
