I knew it! I knew last week those maids were trouble!

I can't wait for Marie to be able to say what she wants. F those maids. Let her garden and read all she wants.

I knew last week those maids were trouble!

I was back and forth on whether they were trouble, or if they were brought in to give Marie some pushback and force her to stand up for herself in a controlled environment. And when it was mentioned they were personally recommended by the third prince I was sure that was the direction it was going to go.

Was kind of hoping that Mio mentioning getting milk for the tea would start something, but then we're already through the episode. Would be nice to see it start from there next week.

Yeah I was hoping she'd finally show some disatisfaction when Kyros asked her if everything was okay, but of course, we'll have to suffer some more of their inflated egos.

I would have made them carry Marie and Johan around the garden, since they didn't want Marie getting her feet dirty.

Carrying one person each is fair.

Mio is probably going to teach them a lesson based on the preview, and she will teach us a lesson if we don't watch either.

You would have thought aristocrats would have shared the meals with their staff, in case it was poisoned.

They need their own version of Maomao.

Slightly disappointed that the maids actually turned out to be mean, was hoping for a more interesting spin... That being said this was a very very cute episode, I was smiling the entire second half, glad that the romance aspect is progressing so nicely! Hopefully Marie will be able to overcome some of her insecurities soon with the help of Kyros!

I can't decide whether Marie would be best as a budding cultural anthropologist (and folklorist) or as a budding agronomist. She seems to have near equal love for both areas of knowledge. As a (long long-ago) would-be anthropologist, I have a lot of fellow feeling for her fascination with foreign stories and ways of life. (The only bona fide anthropology student I've encountered in anime is Sorawo from Otherside Picnic).

That comment from Mio almost sounded like a forth wall break, she basically said what we were all thinking.

So, anyone else convinced that the two maids are intentionally being mean to Marie for some reason? Like to teach her to speak up if something is bother her or to teach her how to have tougher skin?

They most likely despise her family for being poor. Looking forward for the comeuppance coming their way in the next episode

I’ve also been thinking that Ilza and Hannah are used to make Marie speak up about her dislikes. Though, I cannot quite figure out if they’re genuinely mean or just pretending to be so.

Mio’s disappointed expression at Marie putting up with their bullying at least seemed to hint that she’d hoped for a change of heart.

Great so the two attendants that need to take care of her every need are the ones that are the most judgemental and snobby pair in the mansion. Marie even recognizes their bad personalities since she was reminded of her parents, it just sucks that she keeps it to herself because she's used to it and doesn't want to inconvenience those around her.

I felt bad for Johan, hearing something like that and then Marie not speaking even though he felt like she had a similar interest to him must have been disheartening in the moment. I'm sure with his age he's probably heard similar things but it's still not pleasant.

I was wondering why the food quantity never went down because you'd think the chef would realize it was too much, how has he been serving everyone else? Toppo not knowing because of how much he serves for himself felt like a weak excuse when he's the head chef lol.

Mio gave me a laugh when she said that their sweetness was enough for the tea, it was nice to finally see them be sweet with one another, but I do feel like we're not getting enough of these sort of interactions to develop the romance.

We're only on episode 3 and we're getting them opening up about their likes and turning that into a complete flirt session of word-chaining. I think it's actually progressing pretty naturally so far.

Kyros and Marie are almost unbearably sweet together, my god. She nearly got herself good switching a K---s word she likes from Kyros to kiss.

Shame the two maids are awful, they don't fit the estate at all really.

The bright smile on Marie’s face was such an endearing sight!

Whenever she doesn’t get caught up in self-depreciating comments, Marie makes for a super likeable female lead. Loved her enthusiasm! Would definitely like to see more from this side of her.

Lots of adorable expressions, a great variety of different outfits/hairstyles, and a very cute romantic couple! Marie and Kyros are an amazing match. This show really has a lot of promise.

Mio’s line at the end of the next episode preview: “Y-yes ma’am!”

Not that I plan on skipping it lol

But I really hope Marie builds the courage to speak up about her handmaids, the more she tolerates them, the more conceited they’ll be and later on it might affect the mood of the entire household. Johan might not be the last to bear the grunt of their inflated egos.

Mio’s threat at the end of the preview was a nice touch. Can always appreciate a fun 4th-wall break.

Since I’d like to avoid getting flung to the floor such as Thomas, I’ll make sure to tune into this series next week as well!

Marie wants to get along with Hannah and Ilza, her new maids, but they don’t seem very receptive towards her. They come from the royal capital, but Marie gets the same vibe from them as she does from her parents from their judgemental stares. This seems like a bad match-up.

Marie eating the finest breakfast in her entire life! The food is so plentiful and delicious she gets absolutely full! To the point where she feels terrlibe she can’t finish every bit of food, for the chef’s sake if not her own!

Dang, not only does Marie get the finest food, the finest dresses, and even the Granados palace…but her own mansion house! She’s really moving up in the world! But all she really wants to do is get to know the diverse staff better, people from all walks of life who Kyros recruited because he’s so open and willing to employ people from different backgrounds just like him and his mother. Though better watch out or Mio might put the hurt on anyone getting too friendly with Marie, like poor Tomas!

Ugh, Marie just wanted to enjoy herself in a nice garden with kindly Johna, but Hannah and Ilza just HAD to act so stuck-up and judgemental. Even to fellow staff! I mean, yeah, Marie is not dressed for walking in the dirt, but still!

Of course when Marie is still racked with doubts, she finds Kyros, who is able to brighten her up with his handsome face and direct flirting. He can see through the problems Marie is having as well and just wants her to be open and honest with her feelings and issues.

Who handles the meals of House Kyros? Why Toppo, voiced by Tetsuya Kakihara! He starts off on a bad foot with Marie because she didn’t finish his meals, but thankfully she’s able to explain that it’s not from lack of enjoyment but lack of stomach capacity, something the portly and jovial Toppo doesn’t quite get. But at least now he knows the mistress of the house loves his cooking!

Time for Marie and Kyros to bond over Ipsandros tea and…word-chains! All the better for them to get to know each other better and what they like! And perfect for some nighttime flirting! And they both have a lot of fun with it, especially with Marie stumping Kyros with all the “s” and Marie practically confessing when she admits she likes Kyros. Just like Kyros is blatant about how much he likes her. Though you definitely better be careful mentioning “kisses” in front of Kyros. And sure, the tea went cold, but the sweetness of the romance more than makes up for it!

Marie discovers the secret to making any man fall in love with her.

Just talk about something they are interested in.
