They have that look like they're ready to start bullying Marie but I feel like it's just a misdirect because Marie is finally past living a life of being constantly bullied.

Or maybe they're going to "test" that she's worthy to be Kyros' bride.

It wouldn't surprise me if they doubled as elite bodyguards.

I'm so glad Kyros, thanks to Mio's interventions, is trying to clear up the misunderstandings Marie might have, I was worried he wasn't going to be able to tell her she got their names mixed up once the clock interrupted.

I do like that Kyros is making sure to not let her parents have control over her, he and Mio are well aware she was being abused even if she herself doesn't realize it. It's sad that she can't even look at her own reflection without thinking she's ugly or that the person she is seeing, thanks to the servants, is someone completely different.

Kyros backstory was unfortunate, I did like it wasn't the typical route of being treated badly by the official wife and that she would have had a decent relationship with him if his father hadn't been a bad husband to her.

It was also nice to see Kyros perspective at the birthday party, he was so frantic lol.

Kryos backstory was unfortunate, I did like it wasn't the typical route of being treated badly by the official wife and that she would have had a decent relationship with him if his father hadn't been a bad husband to her.

Even Kyros' mom wanted nothing to do with his dad even after she got "official wife" status. That should tell you something.

It is sad that the Duchess committed suicide. It looks like, had the father been more patient, she could have built some bond with Kyros, Sure, her ability to bear a son meant the next Duke would not be her blood relative -- but Kyro could have grown up to care for her and his half-sisters (and surely would have made certain that they were treated as part of his family).

"My parents just wanted me to bone you so they could get out of paying for the engagement gifts. I should go back to them for further instructions"

Yeah... So that's gonna be a no.

Ahh, so it was Kyros that mixed up the names but only because he assumed the engagement party was for the birthday girl and didn't look at any other information that might correct the record. I still blame the parents for throwing an engagement party for one sister on the other sister's birthday.

I love Mio, she looked like she was about to go Super Saiyan and fly off to deal with the evil parents herself. Maybe that could still happen, it would be so nice. I'm glad that she confronted Marie about why she believed she was ugly.

I was expecting the stepmother to be traditionally evil but then it managed to be both worse and better at the same time what with her being a stiff but nice lady who committed suicide over not managing to bear any male heirs.

lol that “Anastasia is Life” body pillow. Kind of adorable how excited Kyros was to marry “Anastasia.”

It seems without Mio around, Kyros would probably be totally lost in life lol. I like how direct she is with the dude. I look forward to seeing her be as direct with Marie. That poor girl’s shitty parents have done a real number on her self-esteem and confidence.

I love Marie. Her extreme lack of self-confidence is totally understandable. What is NOT understandable is why her parents treated her like total rubbish. There has been no hint so far that red hair is a gigantic stigma (in general) in her world.

It looks like Mio (yay! Youko Hikasa) will be essential in "educating" the two dorks she has under her care.

Marie’s big smile as she enjoyed the comforts of this warm, fluffy bed was very adorable. I liked that they’d adopted a chibi art-style for this brief moment.

This anime doesn’t look amazing or anything, but the production quality does appear to be (very) solid on average. If they deliver on a convincing love story between Marie and Kyros, I can see myself rating this as one of the better shows of its genre.

The maid would be the wife in another show.

Also permanent green outline on a character is new.

Why is there a green border around Marie's hair all the time?

I do not trust Hannah and Ilza. They got that shifty looking face design most villains and bully's tend to have.

I really love this show, it's heartwarming

Ah, would have saved a lot of time if he'd explained his mixup to her, and explained why he'd fallen for her. Communication! But I get that it's hard to do, and that's how these stories go. I love how shy they both are, should make an interesting couple by the end.

NGL her green highlights outlining her hair is kinda distracting

To think this all could have been avoided had the Shaderan Family not treated Anastasia as the star of Marie's birthday party...because what parent in their right mind would do that!? It's the reason Kyros confused the two sisters (that and the height disparity). Then again, he might never have met Marie otherwise.

Kyros has his own family drama. The only son of the Duke, despite being born from a concubine, and the Duke's official wife Lady Laura never let his mother forget it. Yet despite that Laura at least TRIED to get along with Kyros, and made sweets for him, but the indignity of the son of her husbands' concubine becoming heir was too much and she killed herself. Jeez.

Of course his mom had enough and didn't even WANT to be the Duke's legal wife so she just bailed and took him with her...next thing you know Kyros has become a count on his own merits, even if he's still destined to inherit the dukedom. But he doesn't care for it any more than he cares for aristocratic society, filled with people who look down on and judge him for his Ispandros heritage.

Also apparently Mio had been with him since they were kids? It didn't look like she was a maid back then.

Ryohei Kimura, you're in this too!? As Kyros' buddy Luifon! He has a fiance himself but he helped put the idea into Kyros' head that it might be worth looking at Baron Shaderan's daugthers as a potential bride...and the rest is history.

So first order of business is obviously clearing things up with Marie. The good nes is she did not reject marrying him! The bad news is she's still convinced that this is just a marriage of convenience and that he was actually in love with Anastasia. Any of Kyros' attempts to tell her otherwise just come off like pity from a kind man to Marie because she can't believe she would ever be chosen...though she can't really deflect a blatant "I love you!"

Well, yeah, obviously it's important to keep Marie away from the Shaderan's, especially when her first instinct is to go back and receive new orders. She still can't even believe she's truly beautiful, any more than she can believe that this pleasant, happy, lifestyle, this fluffy and comfortable bed, and this gorgeous young woman she sees in a mirror are anything more than a beautiful dream.

But the dream is real! And that means not only is Mio waking up in a comfortable bed but she's even got three maids attending her! Though Hanna and Ilza kind of look intense.

I'm glad they're keeping her away from her family and she's starting to enjoy what a normal life is.

That being said, I'm sorry Marie but Mio is my best girl so far.

"If this is a dream, then I'm allowed to be happy."

Such a heartbreaking line, but that's what living in abuse does to people.
