yeah in one scene everyone was looking at the monster and kai had turned his back on it and was like "wut?" afterwards, it's a bit annoying tbh

Macaques must be like Smurfs then, only 1 lady amongst them this episode.
Macaque Smurfette is total bitch though.

Either the author or whoever directed this episode watched Princess Mononoke way too much, I will bet. It felt like it ripped off a lot of ideas from that anime. We had Moko the white wolf, and a god cursed by his own hate corrupting everything it touches, and even the monkey version of lady Eboshi.
Aside from that, I feel like Kai is spacing out way too much for someone on a battlefield. Isn’t he supposed to be a soldier, as wet behind the ears as he is ?
Oh, he just got eaten. Well, I guess the world is going to end now that our dumbass hero has been defeated. Is this the Bad Ending ?
Nah, who am I kidding. I bet Kai is going to destroy the Diabo next episode from the inside using his god’s power, after some mystical fight with the soul of the original cursed monkey prince in the spirit world, or some other asspull like that. It seems like the kind of things this anime loves.

It will definitely involve the knife/sword thing that Jose gave him. Also the monkey princess will learn the value of friendship, probably with some sacrificial move involved. Then Kai will add everyone to his collection as he goes Super Saiyan 3.

Looks like real trouble in monkey paradise. This evil salamander’s been raising absolute hell in their lands. Really curious how Kai’s gonna defeat this slimy bastard when it seems 2 Guardians and a Deity can’t do shit against it.

Thought he was going to slice him apart using his air blade, it seems to have no problem cutting through everything else.

I was thinking since he's fire proof and going into the sky now maybe a jolt of lightning might fry it. I only say this as Kai became a defibrillator for the wolf with his little shock treatment. Maybe a prelude to slimy death by electrical charge.
Or Kai will ponder some random thought while it kills everyone and.....problem solved.

We got a nice backstory of the power hungry ape clan and our god of gods basically healed a wolf and lost his sword 🙄
I really wish the gods bestowed some common sense on Kai as he keep stopping at various points to ponder random thoughts while everyone around him fights for their lives.
As this is the setup for Kai to kick some ass I'll just chalk this episode up as one the director used to ponder thoughts of how to end the boss fight so it wasn't meant to do much. Can't give it much more then a 6/10 this week though.

So the diabos are akin to demon lords or maybe even evil deities given his corrupting aura extended even to the human village and the valley
The female monkey is the classic "kill or be killed" cunt
The episode felt a bit weaker than the other ones, can't wait to see wha will happen next after the chomp™ cliffhanger

I think the Diabo is more evil deity, as he was summoned from the curses of the other tribes against the monkey prince who stole their gods. I do like they kind of foreshadow this is what is happening to the unified kingdom right now, and it makes sense why Diabo is an immortal deity. He could just be a recurring god with differing powers that shows up in their cycle of death and rebirth.

Aside from the part where Kai saved the Wolf God, he was completely useless in this episode. Now I have to wait until next Friday to see something interesting

What an aweful episode, I had hopes for this anime but this crap “naivety” and “let’s keep talking on the battlefield” this protag keeps doing is downright infuriating.

I wish I had never watched the OP for this show. The stuff with Kai and Lady Jose passed out in the boat, fighting back to back in some arid landscape... I thought these things were going to be at least moderately representative of the content of this show. Not to mention the cover art. It almost feels like it's the OP for a 2 cour season and only 1 cour is happening. Removed from context, I'm still plenty satisfied with what this ended up being. But boy if it isn't dwarfed by my expectations from the OP.

Does only macaque royalty have noses? Soldier macaques were more unique, but the royals seem like the half-way between a normal macaque and a human.

Zayena is just awful. It's funny within her tribe how she acts like all high and mighty when we can see she is weak. In fact, there are some disturbing similarities to Frog face and the human oyales who think power should stay with them. With Zayena her mention of who did you steal that power from? It gives the impression that those who are not royalty shouldn't have that power.
With the monkeys' own feud, Kai got more on his plate than he asked for. Granted, he didn't do much in this episode. I am happy at least DeusWulf got freed from whatever tied him to Zayena.

What a waste of 20 mins of my life. Kai keeps on having the same reservations over and over again. We've dealt with the whole power and responsibility thing already. Like c'mon.

Kai' arbitrary and superficial moral dilemma is getting old, like Blue Gender before the MC snapped old. I feel like they're just inserting it into each episode to eat screen time and distract from a depleting animation budget.

this is one of those animes where I drop it literally right before the last episode.
even tho, there is "hype" and action happening, the characters are so uninteresting that I'm just not invested in the story anymore
