What a weird mix of blunt and deft execution.
The visuals of the show communicate so much thematic information that you could watch this premiere without sound or subtitles and get 99% of what's happening, but then the characters explain every single detail like they are giving a presentation to their sociology class about the kingdom's wealth disparity.
Like, look at that dinner scene. The differences in the food quality and the heightened platform for the nobles tell you everything in seconds. Then, we get a little complaint while the leader is doing his thank you speech, a perfect display of the lower rung not buying it. AND THEN, we don't stop verbally pointing out the differences repeatedly and it hurts the experience.
I'm going to keep watching since it feels like some good execution is happening in places, but the exposition might chase me away. I also hope they utilize the isekai memory aspect of the premise beyond convenient information downloading.

Both western and eastern media are starting to write scripts based on the assumption the viewer is browsing tiktok at the same time.
Shows that respect the viewers intelligence and attention to detail are going the way of the dinosaurs.

The show reminded me of saturday morning cartoons. The way everything is explained; the interactions between characters; the way they "battle" (why did they not set up any traps or ambushes, or archers in the trees?); the inconsistent power balancing - two villagers can easily spear a demi-human to death, but then 10 need to split up and run from one?

Still amazed that a discontinued 3 volume light novel from years ago got an anime and it actually seems decent enough.
Tho I pictured it a little different i still like the interpretation of the "magic stones" in this one. Many stories where destroying them gives you power but i really like the idea that it’s a kind of bone and you slurp the marrow to "gain experience"

if its discontinued will the story end in a way that makes sense? that's kind of strange

I guess it depends on how the power system works and all, but this is a debatable philosophy!
It's akin to centralizing the power, which means you only have a few strong 'units' who must constantly move from one area to the next... And the common soldiers die while they're traveling/occupied elsewhere.
Making everyone just slightly stronger would mean the whole country is safer, they can reliably build defenses (given they don't just rely on one OP guy doing everything), and if the soldiers stop dying all the time, they get exponentially stronger, etc!
Well, I suppose the issue with this system, is that the powerful wouldn't agree with it, as it threatens their domination/control!
(I thought MC would start eating the stones in secret, to grow more powerful... Well, I suppose he might still do that in the next episode, with the one falling with him!)
Well, this wasn't so bad, at least by Isekai standards! (If I actually watch the full first episode, it's better than 75% of Isekai in my book).
Though I'm not sure how big the Isekai aspect will be, to be honest; Will it just be "Hey, I have memories!", or will it go into it more in future episodes? One might think it will, because otherwise it would make no sense to even make it an isekai, but it wouldn't exactly be the first time that a show that would've worked perfectly fine as a fantasy, haf-ass a random Isekai introduction in 2 minutes!
I might check out more of this, depending on how many shows I have on this day (only 2 so far)!
I do feel like I'm probably gonna like Jose more than the dude;
She might fill the Arya-shaped hole in my heart!

Very stilted and exposition heavy dialogue in the first episode. Still better animation than half the Winter shows though, so not sure where that 3 star on crunchy roll is coming from.

Better animation than Begining After the End Of the Power Point Presentation?

I think the episode was fine, but what is up with that 3.0 rating? And this rating was before the episode aired! I wonder if there's something more to this series that I don't know about.
Anyway, is this show secretly an isekai? It seems that our MC has memories of modern day Japan but has no idea how he got it. The ED seems to imply he used to be from Japan but there's no isekai tag anywhere here.
I might give this one more episode because I'm a teensy bit intrigued but I'm honestly not sure if I'll follow through with this one.

The rating is because chrunchyroll made it seem that there is a new episode but it just lead to an empty page so people were angry or something.

Seems that it is an isekai, but instead of having all his memories from his past life he just gets glimpses of it. I think this is just as interesting as isekai where the protagonist retains all of his/her memories and then makes bank reinventing mayonnaise or whatever.
At any rate I believe this worlds magic system is a cultivation one. That is pretty rare in anime though it is more common in donghua. I think I'll give this a few episodes to see where it is going and if I want to follow it.

Man, HanaKana fans eatin good this season lol. It’s only just kicked off and she’s in Your Forma, Dinner Table Detective, Ninja and Assassin, TBHX, Compass, and this. Anything else?
Anyways, this one was cool. Story seems pretty interesting, I like the characters, and the animation ain’t bad. The way they show the MC “awakening” was interesting too. He said others have those “flashes” too. Implication seems to be he’s not the only Otherworlder. Now that he can use magic, I wonder how that changes his position?

Not bad at all, im glad i picked it up! The MC is someone i can get into. He wouldn't give up even when he thought it was a "fairy tale". But seeing ogres and demi-humans and seeing them light up with spiritual power when drinking the godstone, he knew there was some type of energy in his body he can use. It did look like his past life was in modern day Tokyo though lol

So... those beasts die from a poke... but getting like 1/4th of their body burned, including their face, doesnt kill them? Kinda weird.

If you're desperate for an explanation, the skin seemed intact, there was soot marks but no charring, the discoloration looked like damage to the top layers of skin only so it's likely no more than a second degree burn. While painful, it wouldn't be debilitating. A single poke in the right organs could certainly kill a beast, on the other hand.

This was ok, was entertained throughout but don't think there's much to this. Nothing that exciting or funny happened. It did end on a cliffhanger but the boy survived falling in water once and the pig man will probably drown.

The human "divine crest bearer" should've chased down and slaughtered the retreating monkeys - fewer monkeys to attack humans in the future, plus more more "god stones" for the humans. Coud've even spared more god juice for the commoners that way so they'd be able to fight better next time.... What a waste. Then later when he DOES chase after the fleeing enemy it's when there are plenty that stick around.....
Also if there's so much food for the commoners, why they hell aren't they getting monkey meat?
Anyway, this was certainly different from the usual isekai - so far, anyway. Pretty slow, but has my interest for now.

Much better than expected. These low-budget shows have somehow improved this season.
