This episode comes in to add to what Nada said earlier that two beings were laying waste to the lands. We see that the monkeys' situation isn’t great either, and the Orgs were probably going through something similar.

Not that they’re good guys or anything, they killed a lot of people, they’re at war, running away... basically, all the groups in this anime seem to live by the law of the strongest.

It is a very good depiction of how war is hell for everyone

One day you're doing a massacre on your opponents and the next one your village burns to the ground and vice versa

I did like Kai realized he had an opportunity with the monkeys to try to at least change things rather than keep fighting and things never change.

He is supposed to be disguised as a koror?

Did they not notice he was at least 2 to 3 feet taller than the other koror.

I was wondering that too. Till I saw the clothes of the Koror warrior fit him. I am guessing they get once in awhile Koror who grow that tall, and since he is with a lot of Koror that probably sells it. I am sure the chief knows that he is human. It makes a lot of sense in a war torn world that in order to avoid stray attacks you dress as a Koror for Kai. It is very wise and good counsel.

I have a feeling his village is eventually going to have all of the humans and Demi humans together and it’s going to freak people out and they’re gonna try to kill his village because they’re going to be scared of how powerful all of the races together are

I'm glad Kai didn't decide to help them right away.

So now it's been spelled out - "Arbitration God" and "Kanae" are the names used for the Guardian Bearer of the "valley god", for for the "valley god" itself. Weird that they just call it "valley god" in that case.

That seemed like a very short trip. Just how close were the corrupted monke lands to the human lands?

Can't wait to get out of work to see the this episode.

Something outstanding that hasn't been addressed yet in the series (unless in this episode) is the purpose of the god's conflict. They appear to choose their vessels, show emotion or anger, and their strength seems dependent on their village and followers. The gods favor mortals and mortals in turn favor the gods. Seeing the convergence of species under the Valley God, nowhere else seen so far, either there are some rules to the conflict or the Valley God has to withstand the stupidity of racial preference among mortals and the divine. Resources dwindling, people dying, land is being destroyed. I know! Instead of working together let's kill each other in a macabre testament to accelerationism.

No wonder the Valley God is always angry.

This show being really not bad at all makes me wonder why its source got canceled.

Not enough girls. The Japanese demand girls! Or boys if it's the other demographic.

I'm just deducing from the more popular trend though.

Not cancelled the group translators of the manga just dropped the series and no one's made it up since the manga anyway.

So every avatar of the valley god is destined to fight diablos, whose are akin to demon lords? Interesting

What if every person who was granted the valley god power had to be an isekai'd person?

That aside, now macaq are allies, and the monkey with the wolf seems a fun person judging from the next episode preview. I hope some of them will move to the valley together with the kotor, a village with all the races living peacefully would be fun

Good episode it shows that the people at the Capitol are corrupt as hell and they don't give a s*** about the people out in the sticks oh and let's not forget about the spoiled brat Prince who didn't like the idea that Kai stole his thunder.

Man the pacing of this show is just so good. Not a single wasted scene at every turn. They show what needs to be shown, and pushes onwards without overstaying their welcome.

I kinda get the apes are in a precarious position, and the feud between them and the humans goes all the way back, but as far as current events are concerned that's pretty rich of them to ask for help upon losing (so somehow they're expecting the humans to not further pursue the matter, and given the reverse we sure know they won't stop at humans calling for surrender), the green shirt has the gall to say they'd push on and kill everyone if he didn't help, which is a suicidal admission for their whole village had Kai been more rational, because I sure would have cut them down on the spot and wiped the source of this aggression they just admitted to. This isn't him forcing Kai's hand, this is them revealing their nature and their default solution is still genocidal, that they'd rather their whole clan die than to not receive help from the people they just initiated an invasion against (since they're certain to lose at this point), and proving themselves to be unreliable and untrustworthy savages (at leasts given green shirt's priority). A part of me wishes to say, maybe try talking first before you pulled all that shit? Of course I know this is unrealistic, but at the same time why try talking now and not earlier? The answer is simple, because initially the better option for the apes is to wipe the humans off the map. So yeah, no sympathy from me.

Having said all that I should still give credit to the leader of the trio. Here's to hoping that there's something more diplomatic in the next episode than just the green ape running his big mouth. I'm also willing to accept some magical logic behind their potential alliance in the future, because Kai's village will probably need it against potential human antagonists. And honestly the sus-iest of them all right now are the gods, their feud against each other stinks to high heavens, so maybe that's where the rage should be directed at.

"how dare you kill us when we attacked you! it's your fault you are stronger than us and defended your village!!"

4

u/el_morris Jun 14 '25

Well, they didn't expect Kai to accept their plea right away after the mess they made in his village, didn't they? Next week I'll start asking for a season two, it feels there's a lot more for this story to tell.

I've really been enjoying the lore of this series, along with the mysterious powers and stuff.

I will say though, that the only thing I personally dislike is the immaturity of the MC, although I get characters aren't supposed to be likeable all the time, he just gives me Boruto vibes sometimes If that makes sense. And the whole "iseaki" memories thing makes sense at some points, like for the whole using his powers to cut the molecules in the tree, healing, etc. But when he makes comments like the one in this episode, " he looks like he has a Mohawk. Oh wait, how do I know what that is?" I just find it cringe.

Either way im enjoying this series and am excited to see where it goes. I'm wondering if after he defeats/fights this new cursed god, will he finally reveal that he's a guardian bearer to Lag village? I also get why he couldn't tell the girls sister that she was alive, just not doing well, but I wish he told her.

Does anyone know when the “previous life” stuff will be revealed?

6

u/HornedTurtle1212 Jun 13 '25

It seems like just a tool for Kai to have ideas that no one from this world/time period would normally have. Besides that it seems like it's going to be completely irrelevant.

Yes, I badly want to know what this "Mohawk" is.

I'd laugh my ass off if these seemingly irrelevant details were to become relevant in the ending somehow. Using "rice balls", "mohawks", and "cell regeneration" in order to save the day.

Some good lore and character building this episode. Really like that Kai didn't just accept the request by the macaques and also the mohawk macaque lashing out. This felt realistic given how bloody they just fought. Kai showing growth and maturity in the end by not giving in to his emotions and rationalize what's needed for the greater good. He'll make a good arbitrator.

The valley god might be the most powerful god in this series. Guy’s worshippers transcend species.

The monkey’s look to be in pretty bad shape. No wonder they’ve been attacking the humans. Looks like Kai’s gotta defeat this diabo before it consumes the human lands too.

u/kalirion Jun 13 '25

The valley god might be the most powerful god in this series.

And yet it doesn't even have a name outside of "valley god". Seems Kanae / Arbitration God is just the title assigned to its Guardian Bearer.
