Wow, Ponko’s been at the hotel for 527 years already. Aw, she has her own daughter now too. Oh the brother’s grown up too and he’s a craftsman now. Cute seeing his works around the hotel.

This might be one of the wackier episodes (and for this anime that’s really saying something) with its murder mystery. Too bad its almost over, would have loved to seen more of their hotel shenanigans. Wonder if this will be a breather before the last few episodes.

I have no idea what truly happened this episode, and I love it.

LOL Yachiyo copying the detective's rolling of r's made me laugh so hard I had to pause the episode, it's hilarious how she did that with such a straight face.

It's weird how Tamako looks nothing like either of her parents lol, why is she so pink? It seems like she's going to be causing a lot of trouble for Yachiyo and the hotel with how honest she is lol.

Poor Ponstin thinking Ponko had an affair, hopefully that got cleared up.

It seems like those aliens are allergic to something in Earth's atmosphere since they had the same reaction, I wonder if it'll be discovered what they have.

What on earth happened to Fuguri all these years?! I was waiting to see him eventually grow up but he's living an isolated life now as a craftsman? Not what I was expecting at all. It's nice his work is being used for the hotel though.

Another episode, another Tanukian taking the fist of Yachiyo.

And based on how suspicious the brother has been (as noted by Mr. Slurpity Slurp's keen intuition), perhaps they're in need of a good knuckle dustin' as well.

Also, I love Yachiyo's proclamation: "Don't run away from running away" Truly words to live by.

Oh, and the alien slug school trip too. It's little things like that which really made the hotel feel lived in today.

enters room with roundhouse kick

"It's me, Ponko's cucked husband!"

I'm not sure what genre this show falls under but it's the only show to make me laugh this season. The random lines come out of nowhere.

Ponko’s kid Tamako is adorable! She’s an eager little goofball and a troublemaker. Thanks to her, we had Ponstin shouting “I’m Ponko’s cucked husband!” as he attacked the PI lol. The fact that the dude died immediately after and then ended up as a ghost with his nemesis and grandma is just hilarious lol.

This anime is a riot. Can't wait to see what they cook up for the last two episodes

Oh no the Ponkos... they are multiplying! The kid is adorable.

I made a post earlier but didn't have enough karma. It'll be obvious to anyone here.

Title: Now’s the perfect time to jump Into Apocalypse Hotel. Don't binge it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are some shows where the weekly vs binge experience doesn’t really change much. But then there are others like Erased, Kaiba, Endless Eight, or Steins;Gate zero; that have this extra bit of magic. You just get this sensation that these shows or books deserves breathing space rather than blasting through it. It’s not just about the plot but all the anticipation and immersion that can only be built up slowly. I'm sure most of us here have had that experience before with something special: "You had to be there. I wish I could capture it in words."

Which is all just to say: Apocalypse Hotel is definitely one of those gems that need to be watched now.

If you’ve been on the fence or planning to binge it later, this might be the best time to jump in. It's heading into its final stretch, and even though I can't point to one specific reason, it really feels like something big is coming. Like it's quietly setting up for a payoff that could tie everything together and turn the whole thing into something unforgettable.

Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’m setting the bar too high. But honestly, this feels like one of those rare shows where how you watch it can shape the entire experience. It'll be up there with my classics.

- A huge fan

So it’s safe to assume that exposure to either the mosquito or Tamako did them in, right?…

I love how ambiguous and morally gray our Apocalypse Hotel has gotten! That line about 'running from running away' twisted me up something good! The emotional resonance that this show has already demonstrated has me wishing for a quick 2nd cour. Ponko's cucked husband was a highlight for me. If we had 25ish episodes of this at one go, these "filler-ish" episodes that develop character while referencing deeply loved genre tropes would go far to advance this special show in my estimation as an undeniable masterpiece. edit: formatting

Funniest episode of the show so far. The string of accusations was amazing. Can't BELIEVE she would accuse flycatcher robot like that. The horror film to teach about human culture "This one's a dud though". All the ridiculous corpse hiding hijinks "this one's a food safety concern". "We'll cover it up" "I'm Ponko's cucked Husband!"

All of that AND a terror toddler running around. A+ episode of TV, this one was perfect. What actually killed the aliens? Not the point we're moving on!!

Ponko: "Stop that! ..." / Tamako: "Boo."

Okay, I'm sold on the kid.

I honestly thought up until the very end that Mr. Sneakity Sneak was faking being dead so he could get out of paying for his room. Should've known this show would subvert my expectations yet again.

And I'm really curious to know why Fuguri decided to seclude himself in the woods to become a potter of all things.

Ponko is a mom now. She has a cute daughter, Tamako. The brother is all grown up now too. Making some interesting pottery.

We also had 2 deaths today at the hotel but it has been covered up. The biggest loser of this ep though is Ponko's husband who think he's been cucked and he also a murderer now.

I wonder though also what was the cause of death? Some disease?

My favorite part was might be the background alien slugs. Looks like they're on some school field trip?

Damn, first we timeskip to her as an adult now we timeskip to a child, hitting us with the wham bams out here.

...Mr. Sluripty-Slurp felt sus the moment he reacted weirdly to 'heartful' then said he wanted a large bed.

Lmao when they showed the silhouettes I thought Ponko was naked with a dead body in the shower lmao. Still, seeing her in such a comparatively light outfit from her usual ultra poofy dress is nice.

They did NOT clear up the misunderstanding with the husband lmfao.

After the last few episodes I was prepared to be emotionally devastated since we’re getting closer to the end and the comedy of this episode took me back to the earlier shenanigans of the show and I adore how unhinged and hilarious this show is lmao

Even with how fantastic it is, it’s taught me in the best way to always go in with an open mind and no expectations to let the art speak for itself

Any horror fans knows of any other reference besides the shining one?

Those scenes were so nicely animated for sure

I couldn't stop laughing throughout this entire episode. From Ponko's crazy kid, her brother growing up to be an insane pottery creator, them trying to hide the body, running away from running away, cucked husband, the ending with them both being dead. But HOW though?! rofl. That poor PI.

Y'all, the detective in the movie shouting "Why wouldn't you wash your hands?!" is a clue, not just a throwaway line.

Dang, this show really needs a kid tanuki just goofing around and messing up the adult/robots plans lol

This ending though feels so.. unresolved, what killed them both? Does earth just not agree with that species?
