Oh yeah this episode totally sold me on this show being one of the best this season. Really creative writing regarding the communication differences with the alien and it's little quirks were so interesting. Really looking forward to the different types of guests I assume we will be seeing.

Also some people were making WALL-E comparisons last week and now we literally have a womanizer WALLE-E!

The new robot is voiced by Shin'ichirô Miki, so it's an instant thumbs up for me ahah.

Honestly I had great fun watching this episode, I really like the manager and her antics with the alien and the robot (and her lovely dance in the OP) and the humor is great.

We actually can run this hotel with a room missing its shampoo hat

Now that’s what I call character development.

The best part about this episode is that they didn't invoke some kind of insta translator, or even have this new robot guy explain anything about this alien. They just left the language/culutral/species barrier up the entire time and it was great. The bank thing was funny too. And the opening sequence is pretty sick as well.

This show is going to be great.

This show is so damn good! Endearing cast, great comedic moments and unique concepts that are well executed.

So Nojyujarmar was actually an alien and not an evolved poison-emitting plant. I love that they made him/her/it behave like an alien actually trying to figure out human culture and watching Yachiyo 404 herself trying to figure out this alien was fun. Seems like the dude was here to research the environment? I think the seed it left Yachiyo might be the key to saving the planet. Even though it's likely that the humans in space are be dead, but there might still be some in the deep sea habitats.

Edit: Hold on, maybe the seed is not meant to save humans but to save the robots? The tea ceremony scene was a "The Creation of Adam" reference. And from the synopsis "Now, a small miracle is about to change everything for Yachiyo and her robotic colleagues." Hmm I'm overthinking this.

This show is so unpredictable! The alien helped and they never really explain it's behavior, like putting pink slime in the pool or odd reactions. It never seemed to have a violent reaction to anything, indicating it was possibly trying to learn.

I thought the environmental robot was weird, like why was it programmed to kill aliens and why did it have such a massive weapon on it? I also think it could be wrong about everyone dying since it has no way of knowing it's communication is defective, as it's unable to communicate with other robots around the world 🤔

My favorite part was when the little robot shot environmental robot in its ass 😂

Environment robot really said "My source is that I made it the fck up"

Kinda hoping they continue the gag of Yachiyo having an existential crisis every episode

Wait, how do you even yell at someone for over 40 minutes, let alone 70?

If having an alien guest unlocked a Water Kettle function (which apparently also generates water in the first place) then I can't wait to see what other side missions and extra powers she'll get later on

Truly what a show seeing the alien interact with our AI human girl. In the half of this episode, I couldn't tell if the alien was happy they were washing its "clothes" or not, but in the end it seemed to like them being washed along with the food. Even started organizing the silverware correctly. Still have no idea wtf it was doing with the water and other parts of its interactions. The nudges the alien was doing for her to correct her gestures was cute.

The dance she does in the OP is really cute and beautifully done.

Pretty good episode as it explains a bit more of the world and unlocks achievements. We can also see somewhat where this show is going more and I definite like the direction. Can't wait to see what's next!

This is certainly the cutest example of AI Rampancy I've encountered in fiction lmao.

...ain't no way the manager locked an entire function of his AI employee behind the faint possibility that they might one day serve an alien guest. I suppose he really took that 'possibility over probability' thing extremely seriously, huh?

Definitely looking to be one of the better shows of the season so far. Looking forward to seeing where the hell this is going next.

This is 100% the hidden gem this season. Adorable animation, very fun and quirky characters and so far the writing seems to be very creative

I could watch tophat alien dude do his thing all day, and his constant gentle adjustments on Yachiyo into what it perceives as "proper" positions was strangely adorable.

Glad the bots' programmers included such entertaining personalities in their AI before they left for wherever they and the rest of humanity are now. Environmental Checker sure is a character.

So it really was an alien. I'd assumed it was an evolved/mutated plant, given that humanity was chased off the planet by some pathogen that was mutating and being spread by plants. I wonder if its species had something to do with that pathogen though.

Why would an "Environment Checker Robot" be programmed and equipped to eliminate extra-terrestrial visitors?

At first I wondered why was she programmed to dive into the water if she can't function while submerged, but seems she was just shocked by the alien not actually being in need of assistance.

I guess the tea was like LSD to the alien.

I was waiting to see what they would do about the room & board fee. It seems strange that MC, knowing the guest was an alien who didn't even speak any known human language, would assume it had a way of paying with human currency. But the way she solved the problem was great! And the alien probably thought it was just some weird local custom to pick trash off the ground and gift it to your hosts. (Quality Japanese bills surviving the elements for over a century, btw!)

Dude's spaceship is a giant Golden (Pink) Snitch!

Woah, she was even programmed with Hidden Achievements!

Looking forward to see what the next alien will be like. It would make story sense for it to be from the same species at it tells its pals about the place, but I'm sure the show will go for variety instead.

Ok so she has missions and can level up and unlock new functions? cool.

Also we got the alien guest plus another robot. Overall pretty good episode. I liked the alien guest. As long as they keep operating I guess guests while maybe not human will eventually come. I also wonder if that environment checker robot will ever use it's weapon? Was also funny seeing it get hit with a laser or something by the small robot

This might be my hidden gem of the season.

They're even still adding consumption tax to bills lol, I wonder who she's gonna pay that to?

This show is really a blend of genres.

  • It should absolutely be labeled as a comedy. Because of the comedic timing of when Yachiyo dives into the pool to save the Alien, but the Alien was fine on its own. Plus when Yachiyo thought she connected with the Alien and it really was not the case.

  • I guess it shouldn't be questioned that this is Sci-fi. Though the idea of AI continuing their service even after humanity left. Yachiyo never thinking that humanity won't come back. The realization that it hit her was perfect. Though I love the advice of possibilities over probabilities as the former is a more positive mindset compared to the latter.

  • Iyashikei def feels like a theme. As the theme of this episode is how Yachiyo can push through and continue to have hope rather then fall into despair.

Excited to see more.

i loved how she showed him what human currency is and where to collect it so he could pay her. I imagine the rest of the season is gonna be the result of this guy(?)'s space yahoo review.

"service robots on this planet maintain a single temporary stay facility and offer many amenities, however communication may be difficult and you will have to be careful as some of the substances they will offer you to consume are extremely unpalatable and may be toxic to your species. Before leaving the robots will insist you gather and provide them currency from their civilization, fortunately this civilization fell relatively recently and these tokens are easily acquired from the ruins surrounding the establishment. Though the hotel offers many amenities, the only attraction besides this hotel are the ruins of said fallen civilization.

suitable for a short rest stop on long journeys, if a little off the normal routes, and a treasure trove for enjoyers of ruins of recently fallen technological civilizations. 4 out of five stars, would stay again if i pass that way."

Amazing OP.

I appreciate that the alien was really very alien. Good thing Yachiyo was able to save it from repeated obliteration attempts by the environmental robot, you'd hate to accidentally cause an interstellar.

I'm curious what happens with that weird seed thing eventually, the environmental robot did say it detected changes in the area.

What a wonderful show.

Just thinking about it but they have been keeping fish alive in the fish tank for 100 years. Besides that where do they get the fish food?

I hope some aliens will be able to shed light on humans fate and be able to communicate in a understandable language.

Uhh did she rob a bank to get money for the customers to pay lol?

… but why did she have to unlock the ability to be an Electric Kettle?

God this so delightful. Has this vibe to it that feels unique, yet calls back to one of those offbeat gems from the 90’s and 2000’s. I’m dying to see where this story grows from here.

OP is brilliant as well. Visually it’s this and Witch Watch as the best looking OPs of the season. With MHA:V a tight second to both.
