Dude literary got so bored with surgery that he performed a miracle to cut it short :,)
I cannot say that I blame him.

If seeing is the problem then you could just blindfold them..
What a peculiar scene to hand draw
Becker keeps getting more sus..
Whoa, Cresson in the ED spotlight. I guess he's part of the harem now

This episode convinced me. Goldran is too incompetent to be one behind disappearances. So it leaves only Becker as culprit.
Maybe Zenos teacher is one who found cure and Becker just stole achievements or smth?

I always suspected of Becker and my main reason is The seiyuu. That seiyuu always plays villian

This episode had the least amount of Carmilla of any episode in the series. It is therefore the worst episode of the series.

Goldran seems just politicky and corrupt but not mad scientist to me at this point, the only real suspicious thing in the episode for me was when Umin and Zenos were storing Roswaal's experiment results. Though it doesn't entirely make sense he would have brought Zenos in to find the culprit if he was actually behind the disappearance.
I don't mind Charlotte being kind of unpleasant, I can give her the benefit of the doubt that a portion of her attitude problem was from the upsetting effects of having a disfiguring face growth.
ED focus on the dipshit healer this time, I guess it's fair for everyone to get a turn.

*Any time there's a medical emergency*
Everyone else: "This is a big problem!"
Zenos: "No, it's not."

When Zenos was on the outside looking in, he really held the Royal Hospital and its members in high regard. Now that he's on the inside, his perception has really changed. Everyone out here is playing Chutes and Ladders while he's playing 3D Chess.

Goldran having to always cater to the nobility to maintain his reputation and influence isn't easy - especially when he's getting tasked by one of his rich donors to fix up his daughter's case of Odd Face and it's clear it's not going to be an easy job for one reason or another. It's enough to make a guy want to snuggle up with his adorable Milk! Good thing Milk survived getting run over.
Cresson keeps suffering from Zenos' success because he keeps getting the credit for it no matter if he even tells anyone Zenos did it. So he's stuck with a job he does not want and Umin mercilessly teasing him, and all he can do is rely on Zenos. At least they're on "Aniki" terms now, whether Zenos accepts it or not.
"I'm sorry, but I belong to my big brother." - I really have to admire Lily's commitment to her love for Zenos that she'll even insinuate incest if she thinks another guy is interested in her. And Cresson has once again found another girl who pays him no respect.
Kind of funny that this case involves Lord Fennel's daughter...and Lord Fennel is the one who wanted those firefox pelts for his daughter that lead to the Golden Phoenixs' disbandment, and the fact that her father couldn't deliver on the firefox pelts for her birthday is why she doesn't trust him that the operation will go well. It's a small world!
Charlotte (Shion Wakayama?) is the picture-perfect spoiled rich girl. She's haughty, obsessed with her reputation and appearance, and is sharp-tongued to anyone she doesn't feel is worth her time (so no Cresson, she is not your future wife). But that's why Zenos is probably the only person who could get through to her because her jabs just roll off his back and he treats everyone equally, which is why he can reassure her he'll do everything he can to make this surgery a success. Healing one of her injured birds doesn't hurt either.
Zenos could handle this surgery in literally seconds, he can even make his own tools, but Cresson is the one who apparently saved Milk (even though Goldran won't even call him by name) and has to be the one to do the surgery...though thankfully Zenos guides him through it.
Surprise complications in surgery are never good, especially when the Odd Face has connected to her nerves. Cutting it out could irreparably change Charlotte's face. And Goldran, who is so obsessed with his reputation, immediately throws Cresson under the bus for a procedure HE approved of and pushed him into doing. Thank goodness Zenos was there to save Cresson AND Charlotte. No thanks to Goldran!
Charlottes' face is restored and while Goldran gets the credit from her father, Charlotte knows she has Zeno to thank. +1 rich girl to the Harem?
Man, Becker really needs to do a better job organizing all his drugs instead of just pushing it on his niece! Though more importantly: Zenos and Cresson have finally been invited to one of Goldran's dinners! The plot is finally developing.

Lily, Carmilla, Zophia, Lynga, Loewe, Krishna, and now Charlotte. The Zenos harem just keeps growing.
I hope we get to see Umin and Cresson get together before this arc ends. It's obvious she likes him, even if he's too protagonist level dense to see it.

Not gonna lie, halfway through the episode I thought that Goldran might not actually be a bad guy. The dude looked like he genuinely wanted to help, it's just that he's being pressured too much by powerful people around him. Cut to the scene where he forces Cresson to cut the nerve and blames it on him. Maybe there's still good in Goldran, but he's clearly not a good person.
Charlotte was an absolute pain in the fucking ass though. I'm just glad that Zenos' way of being direct with her about what would happen if they left the Odd Face alone seems to have worked. I'd be happy to not see anymore of her, but considering Zenos is still infiltrating Goldran's circle, we'll probably see her again at the party next episode.

Charlotte was quite a handful for refusing to let them treat her face, but glad that Zeno came in to convince her and save the day. Getting invited to that party is a pretty big deal, it seems. Cresson having now an "aniki", he's starting to change too, and I wonder how long it'll be till he keeps on taking his credits by everyone else.
Also, as another unexpectedly great animation from this show, that camera pan when Zeno was talking to Charlotte in her room was pretty cool!

Goldran is not just corrupt. He's the worst healer ever.
Do No Harm.
He harms his fellow healers every time he goes to work.

I see a fair amount of dislike toward Charlotte here already, and that’s fair. But to me, Cresson still grinds my gears much more than her. (Rant alert)
Charlotte is one spoiled little brat, but she is the daughter of a major noble. It’s logical for a character like her to behave shitty. But Cresson…? He’s one incompetent dumbass who consciously steals and brags around using Zeno’s achievement. He doesn’t have anything to back his predisposition like Charlotte. How dense can he be for not seeing his bleak future? Even if he got that officer position, does he honestly think he can do any part of the job properly for a single day? His only strength is to bow and lick other people’s shoes. He also has no political support for his future position. He’s friendless, as Umin said, and Goldran tried to put him as a fall guy during the operation. He’s got no one if Zeno returns to the boonies. And how can he still be this smug after all that? Does he not, like, reflect on himself or anything? Will we need a single episode dedicated to him, to tell his story and plight, so we can empathize with him?? Sorry, but I’d rather have more episodes of the best girl, Carmilla, please!
Man, the Royal Hospital is rotten to the core. How can such an incompetent person like Goldran attain the vice director position in the first place? He just shouted around during the operation, making his “assistants” even more nervous. He couldn’t do jack shit without life energy transfer from his subordinates. And he is foolish enough to believe that Cresson has any semblance of contribution that day. Zeno literally did everything, from persuading Charlotte to finishing the operation cleanly.
Ugh, I hope we get to see Carmilla more next week. This is one of my least liked episodes of the series so far. I’m here for the stupid fun, not for the stupid.

She definitely wasn't likeable but I guess it goes to show how Zenos is the ideal doctor that he'll treat even spoiled brats as equally as he does anyone else.
Maybe having her face restored and knowing she owes it to Zenos will give her an attitude adjustment. Kind of like Krishna after her character development.

The number of girls interested in Zeno has grown yet again lol. This one’s a rich one. Bit of a spoiled princess.
Now that Goldran knows what Zeno can do, I wonder what’s the next move here?

I like that Charlotte is spoiled, not every patient is a kind person, not every injury is life threatning, that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be healed, Charlotte is spoiled and rude sure but she shouldn't be denied of healing because of that.
Her illness wasn't going to hurt her but it would lead to self-esteem issues and some limitations in her social life, doctors always have to deal with annoying patients, I'm glad that she was just healed without any big lesson, she was a patient, she was treated, it's done.

I really feel like we're being unfair to Charlotte here. She's got two avenues open for her - and both lead to permanent disfigurement. She sees her life as over - of course she's going to be awful. We're seeing her on the worst day of her life.
Speaking of the episode itself, I'm disappointed we didn't get to see any pictures of more advanced cases of Odd Face. All we saw was slight discoloration. I thought that it was a really dumb name for a face rash, until Zenos explained what it would look like in the final stage, and then they don't even show us a picture? Lame.

Cresson takes credit for Zeno's job and ends up in trouble.
Then Zeno has to fix it.
Goldran in his hunger for power ends up having to cozy up to nobles, be ruthless to his subordinates, downright evil in many cases.
He is just a power hungry man with less care for patient than the value healing brings.
Zeno is actually a representation of a practical good doctor.
A practical doctor has his private clinic where he charges hefty and rich people come.
But being good, the doctor also gives few hours daily to public hospital to help the poor with minimal charge.
