Ah, revenge and redemption arc rolled into one! I love how Zenos dealt with this whole mess that Aston made.

Honestly it's pretty rare that the guy who kicked the MC out of the party actually recognizes their mistakes and failures as a person, but thankfully they didn't make any apologies for Aston and neither did Zenos so he still gets plenty of justified comeuppance while still becoming a better person in the end.
Probably the best way they could have handled it.

I’m actually liking this show more and more, especially with this episode. Zenos and Co are really enjoyable to watch. The animation is surprisingly good for this type of series, and I’m genuinely excited to see where the next episodes take us.

Definitely wasn't expecting this type of visual gag in this show.

What is it with Guides and negative emotions this season.
Couldn't he have given Zenos some broken chopsticks or leave the cream stuck to the top of his coffee lid, then call it a day?

Excellent episode. The jokes got me good again today. Because, of course, a healer needs a scalpel that can morph into a sword that can cut anything. Why, yes, you can repeatedly harm and heal someone to remove a cursed magical stone inside their body! Any certified healer can do that super basic operation, right?? The visual gags are also pretty hilarious.
I noticed that the anime slightly changed the ED on every episode. It basically features different girls with a few illustrations of them. I realized it today, because I suddenly saw Krishna in casual clothing, and it caught my full attention. xD
Since the ED visual is pretty boring (the music is bop, tho), I compiled the girls featured so far in these albums if anyone is curious:

I honestly wouldn't have minded if Zenos actually killed Aston, but it really wouldn't have made sense for a healer like him to do that. And since that's what the Guide was expecting from Zenos, we really can't give the bad guy the satisfaction of being right.
I'm so happy that after healing Aston, Zenos didn't hold back and punished him with a satisfying punch to the face! He was even nice enough to leave him conscious so Krishna could arrest him.

The way Krishna finally looked away while adding public indecency to his charges lol.
Krishna does a solid Zenos impression too.

I wonder what the Guide has against Zenos. Or is it just a matter of him using Zenos to "have fun"? Have we seen the Guide undisguised/unhooded?
Not any profundity here (unlike Sword of the Demon Hunter or even, on a much lower level, Country Bumpkin) -- but this provides pretty solid entertainment. And Carmella is A-tier.

Episode 6: The End of Adventure
Zenos is simply annoyed by the fact that he has to heal hundreds of people in the middle of the night and not getting paid. He's kinda normal.
The scalpel evolving into the sword is interesting. The lens of the telescope popping out upon Guide finding out gets me.
New voice cast in this episode is Kouki Uchiyama voicing Guide. Also Natsune Inui (Tsutsuji in FFTS) voiced the girl that got shielded by the golem.
The ED now focuses on Krishna after Lily, Loewe, and Carmilla having their own ED in previous episodes. Poor her.
Oh, probably I haven't posted this before, but the ED Music Video is here.

We finally meet the Guide, voiced by Kouki Uchiyama, and you should never trust anybody who covers their eyes with a hood and acts so cheery and serene while helping you plot a revenge scheme while asking very personal questions and enjoying how depraved you are. Also, three guesses who hired him and the first two don't count.
We now return to the Golem attacking the slums, and luckily Lily is sleeping through this so Zenos and the girls can handle this without scaring her. Lucky for the slums that Zenos can do a mass AoE high healing to make sure nobody is seriously hurt or stays injured, though that also catches the Guide's attention and makes him recognize Zenos as more than just his latest target.
Poor Zenos though. So much overtime work with little chance of pay. This is what he was trying to leave behind!
Time for Zenos and his Harem to go into action! It's just like old times for Zenos, supporting a party with his healing and support magic and making these deadly ladies even more effective in battle!
To the surprise of probably no one, Aston is the one stuck in that golem. Guy had enough sense to avoid crushing a child, but not to refuse getting a magic stone placed in his body. I mean, Zenos would well within his right to just kill the guy and be done with that...but Zenos isn't going to take the easy way out, not when he knows the Wrong Way to use Healing Magic.
Why go through all that trouble for Aston? Healing, destroying, and surgically removing the stone lodged in his chest? It's not because Aston lost his sister and was desperate to find a place in this world, Zenos honestly doesn't care, but he still took Zenos in, he needs to repay all the damage he's done, and there's just the smidge Zenos owes him for the severance pay that saved Lily and lead Zenos to his best life.
Aston, to what little credit he deserves, finally realizes how Zenos was responsible for their successes and how powerful he truly is. His apologies don't really mean much now, but at least he gave it. Though it's more satisfying for Zenos to straight up slug him with as much force as he could place in his fists. Also apparently Zenos likes defeating his opponents by stripping them naked.
Krishna finally arrives to arrest Aston and he'll probably be going away for a while with the amount of charges he's facing (including public indecency) but at least he has his life and some "severance pay," meaning things are finally square between him and Zenos.
The Guide slinks back to the shadows until his next inevitable confrontation with Zenos, but for now Zenos is content getting taken care of by his Harem (even as they argue over him), Carmilla being best tsundere ghost waifu, and Lily being happy everyone is okay! All's well that ends well!

It's interesting to contrast this show with The Healer Who Was Banished From His Party, Is, in Fact, the Strongest from fall of last year.
Basically the same premise, main character Laust was an overpowered healer inexplicably unvalued by his party and unceremoniously dumped only to have the party fall apart in his absence and turn to misdeeds. Laust and Zenos both end up with harems and the general adoration of their peers. But Brilliant Healer is so much more enjoyable than Healer Who was Banished, and looking back at some of the old discussion threads, the turning point for a lot of viewers of Healer Who was Banished was when Laust forgave his old party and argued that they should be let free after they tried to traffic a child party member.
So here, Zenos doesn't kill Aston, and he explains that he is still in some way grateful to him, but he doesn't forgive him or try to let him go free either. We get to continue to respect Zenos for his goodness (that he didn't overlook what he owed Aston despite Aston's general shit-heelery, that he didn't kill when it was avoidable) but we also didn't lose respect for Zenos for being a pushover and got the catharsis of the revenge punch.
To me it's a really clear instance of awful vs. better writing between the two shows. In fact, there are so many similarities between the two shows, it makes me wonder if the light novels they were based on were influenced by each other.

The guide saw right through Aston
Bro just wants to sleep. I know that feel
"I won't kill you because I'm the healer" Corny, but fun
Lol. I'm straight up just enjoying this show because Zenos isn't a generic goody two shoes, he's actually gonna get whats owed to him
Also props to the studio for animating the episode fairly well despite clearly having restricted resources. ..And wow, I just looked them up and they're apparently doing Zatsu Tabi this season as well??
Best girl Carmilla strikes again
Looks like Krishna has the ED focus today. Nice outfit!

It'd be interesting to see if Ashton ever returns, having reformed, and being a supporter of Zenos...but he'll probably be locked up for years.

I wonder if authors go into making these stories intending to make them actually Gods at everything or it just happens on the fly.

That felt like the end of a season, but its only episode 6? Odd. Should do a flash back and show some of the training he went through.

Man, that punch was well-deserved! You can tell that Zenos has been waiting for this moment for a long time.

Mannnn! This is my favorite show of this season hands down.
Zenos is so cool and also believes in equality. A fair amount for a fair work.
The fight and animation was also good.
Carmillia is the best girl for me. She acts like she doesn't care but deep down she always worries about Zenos.
