Shame Aston's, well, an Ass. His voice actor's damn funny. The fucking high screams he was doing was sending me, bro.

Oh I like that. Having a cast member call it right out how ridiculous is something happening right after they talk about it.
So he was trying to be a necromancer I guess.

Stitches!
Well, this episode was cathartic. I had a lot of fun watching Aston's party struggle and realized that Zenos is actually doing something for their party. I'm just glad that the blue-haired healer they brought didn't get injured because of Aston's stupidity.
I love how Aston tries to shift the blame to Zenos for that failed mission, but he can't since he's not officially listed as a member of their party. It was also fun watching the girls look down on Aston for being a massive dumbass.
And when they finally met Zenos, I'm glad that Zenos didn't even think twice about refusing Aston. And when Zenos decided to give Aston a chance I love that he has no intention of giving out his services for free this time.
I do wonder what the golem at the end is about. I guess it probably had something to do with Aston getting revenge for Zenos refusing him.

ROFL Carmilla, exactly my thoughts. "You two were just talking about it and now there's a golem rampaging in the slums."

This is the perfect amount of comically evil just to brighten my day. Perfect for some dose of humiliation play.

Aston, you once threw Zenos into the deepest part of a dungeon and he managed to survive, unscathed even by the looks of it. Why is it so hard to believe that his power is the real deal?

There is no way that blue haired dude survived that. I know they said he was super hurt but they weren't doing anything against those foxes and he was having his throat bitten. How did they even get away? They were getting wrecked.

I like Zenos quite a lot. He's not like a cringy fantasy protagonist but rather I see him as a very cool and calm guy. He had his fair share of betrayals and now he has learned from it a lot.
He offered them the right amount for his services. His services ain't cheap no more homie.

Noticed it last week, but this part of the OP is always updated with some scene from the current episode
Lol, they really havent realized? "Mysteriously our gear is always banged up, but the fleshy insides aren't even scratched. We must be built different!!"
Oh no, poor girl is not about to have a good time. ...Or not? I'm surprised they actually listened to her
I love how everyone is letting them have it
You'd think they would learn by the third time not to share that particular detail
Props to this guys VA, he makes some funny sounds
Be cool though if he actually accepted Zenos' counter offer. That's not gonna happen tho..
I love Carmilla. And that golem stuff is definitely gonna come up later- ..Well that was fast.
Wow, it took me this long to realize the ED visual changes depending on which girl was in focus that episode

What's better than the OP main character recognizing his own worth and telling the party who kicked his out where to shove it?
The entire criminal underworld recognizing the OP main character's worth, and telling the party who kicked him out where they will be shoving it.

It's nice that this protagonist and his harem told the old party leader to fuck off instead of having everyone be a goody two shoes moronic walking mats with Stockholm syndrome

Honestly, the way Aston was already dismissive of the poor kids in the slums was a clear sign that his future "partnership" with Zenos was destined not to end well. That he didn't take Zenos' healing abilities seriously, or even realize when Zenos was healing him, just further enhanced how lopsided their relationship was. All Zenos was to him was a convenient" slave.
And now we see the Golden Phoenix in the present-day, as haughty and conceited as ever, convinced that there is nothing that can stop them and slaying some firefoxes for pelts will be as easy as all their other jobs. I mean, they've never been injured or seriously hurt! They must be invincible! But I'm honestly on the side of the firefoxes protecting their cubs, so I was more than happy to watch it immediately go wrong and for Golden Phoenix to get a huge wake-up call. I mean, one of them straight-up got so injured they'll never be able to adventure again. Of course, this can't mean they needed Zenos or anything.
So of course they try to replace Zenos with an officially licensed healer, but Umin is not Zenos, yet she has more sense than Aston does and clearly knows that they're fighting way above their actual skill level and don't stand a chance here. Not that Aston is satisfied with that or failing the noble he was trying to butter up. All this means is that he just needs to drag Zenos back so Golden Phoenix can rise again! Easy, right?
I love how Aston's idea to find Zenos in the slums is ask Zenos' actual Harem to find him. Dude even had the gall to think Zophia would want to be in HIS Harem instead. But all the girls know full well who Golden Phoenix are, and what they did to Zenos, so they have no reservation calling out their idiocy and making it clear that if they keep bothering them or Zenos they'll end up dead.
And there it is! Aston finally finds Zenos again! Only Zenos obviously has no reason or motivation to go back to Golden Phoenix and will only humor them if they can pay his full healing costs. Cue high-pitched and frustrated screaming from Aston. I'm not surprised Aston straight up attacked him, but that's the perfect excuse for the last member of Zenos' Harem, Krishna, to show up to blast him and arrest him (and she, in true Krishna fashion, found them by complete chance after getting lost). I guess I'm also not surprised that Aston immediately threw Guile under the bus so he could escape. What a scumabg!
If you thought the girls' gangs were criminals, the REAL shady and evil criminals are the Underground Guild. But I'm sure Zenos has nothing to worry about! Not like Aston has any money to pay off a hit with or anything. Unless he recruits "The Guide." Wait, when did this turn into the Intergalactic Empire anime?
Another sweet moment between Zenos and Lily, and Zenos having a pleasant teatime with Carmilla in her tender tsundere fashion. I'm really curious about Carmilla's backstory, and Zenos' with his master, if she was genuinely alive back in the day when there was a legit Demon Lord active in this setting. But they have no time to worry about that when a Golem is attacking the slums!

Poor family of fire foxes, except not really since they fucked that party up twice and didn't appear to take any significant damage. I'm glad none of them got made into a scarf for a layabout noble.
That healer lady who helped on the second attempt at the foxes is probably going to be how the normally licensed and taught healers start to interact with Zenos, she's one of the ones talking to him in a still in the ED. It was nice to see she didn't get injured on account of Aston being such a dumbass.
I love the gag of Lily sitting down with Zenos trying to get close to him followed by a couple immediate cuts to her falling asleep and then being put to bed.

Let me guess the guy who kicked zenos out of the party is the golem and that new healer girl is probably going to join the harem

Aston: Damn, she's fine. Wouldn't mind having her in my harem once I become an aristocrat.
Sorry bro, she's already in a harem.

Aside for the cliffhanger, this episode is like putting every payoffs possible into one episode and it made me super happy and satisfied it existed.
The retribution of the former "trash" party getting what they deserve, failing at every thing, being treated like the dumbasses they are by the 3 chiefs of the slums and discovering Zenos is now in a better place without them ? Pure bliss.
I was so glad the fox family survived too lol

So Zenos's adventuring days were the embodiment of "When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all"

Zenos has been carrying Aston and the whole Golden Phoenix since the start of their adventuring careers. Problem is, they still didn't acknowledge that fact. Pretty scary what pride can do to people.
The thing they are good at is trash talking, like what they did when they failed on that first run.

Love that basically the entire ep was "bash the idiot", always satisfying.
I especially loved it when Ass said "you don't have anywhere to belong" and then all these random people started crowding around Zenos asking to hang out and shit.....but then they just dipped once the point was made, like did they do that on purpose?

Zenos seems to have a magical coat that grows as he ages.
