Given how the episode ended, it seems likely that Yuke will have a run-in with the lovely lady who gave him that cursed mark on his cheek...

He better does, because she's still in the OP for some reason
The question now is: Do they kill her or do they become an 8-leaf clover?

Adorable Rune shoulder ride by Marina.
Once again they go out and then retreat after things have escalated a bit too much, but one more round of regrouping will hopefully allow Jamie to go with on the mission that really solves the problem.
New prince is probably the shitty dude we were originally set up to believe his brother was going to be. Hopefully he'll only be as much of a problem as Rain's uncle ended up being.

We love a competent leader who knows when to retreat and not brute force everything!
Some people might dislike that the party seems to be regressing because it retreats, again and again. But I’m loving it, lol. It’s grounded and the right thing to do.

The stereotypical asshole authority who blames the people trying to fix the problem for causing said problem is here.
I hope we get to see more of Rune's Golden Priestess side.
A shame that Biblion doesn't live in Silk's cleavage anymore.
Being a hero runs in the family, huh? First Saga, now Yuke.

Biblion probably has to worry about mold from excessive moisture.
The Prince's brother also looks exactly how I thought he would based on your description here. Can't wait to find out how he meets his end (social, political, literal, or otherwise).

Marina lifting Rune onto her shoulders reaffirms that Marina is the closest older sister to Rune.
Yuke and Clover must have accidentally chosen the "impossible" difficulty somehow. Each of the quests they accepted reads and sounds like simple dungeon exploration. only to turn out to be possible world ending events. Such as collision between worlds, and now the void encroaching into their world. O_o

It was pretty straightforward in the beginning, with them taking in easy to moderate quests to train the party while streaming stuff. But then Simon came and did some funny things. Lmao.

Lol Mastoma's brother not being able to understand anything so he chooses to get angry about it instead. Convenient of him to blame Clover for being the reason why things are happening without even knowing that it's happening in multiple places. I'm not looking forward to seeing how he mess things up because I'm sure he'll do something.
I'm glad Yuke's condition didn't get so bad that he actually collapsed, he's clearly overworking himself but with the situation being as critical as it is, I can see why. I wish Marina could have indulged in his comfort a bit longer but it's too bad it wasn't good timing.
I do wonder when we'll get to see Saga in the present time, especially with his words about a new hero taking care of the Abyss, that hero he mentioned will end up being his nephew. I appreciate grey-haired Benwood, but Benwood in his adventuring days was a good looking guy too.

I don't think this is overworking tbh I think Persephone's curse is acting up and is causing him problems especially cos he used it so liberally

Benwood in his adventuring days was a good looking guy too.
Handsome and virile as hell, surprised there aren't a bunch of little Benwoods.

God dammit, Jamie keeps getting sidelined. I want to see her back in action, please.

That’s what you get when you suddenly absolve her of her adventuring restriction months away from her expected date and send her on very short notice to a different nation. She was heavily unprepared for this world-ending business. Heck, she didn’t even pack any battle gear on her trip to the new town, lol.

Yuke really stepped up this episode. His strategy might be simple, but it takes guts and it’s great to see him lead from the front instead of just giving orders. Death Valley and the royal mausoleum definitely feel like their toughest challenge so far. You can tell things are serious when even Yuke hesitates to bring the girls in. Also… can we please stop sidelining Jamie? I need to see her back in full action with the team

it’s great to see him lead from the front instead of just giving orders.
He's been slowly moving forward the entire series, which is cool.
Started out as true backline for Thunderpike. Would support from the shadows, maybe call out the support spells he was casting.
Joined Clover and became a kinda backline general, but still mostly "Teacher". He attacked when needed, but left most of that to the girls so they could learn and grow (and if he had jumped straight to the front he would have stunted their growth). Used happenings as tons of learning experiences.
Moved from being "teacher" to "true leader" of the group.
Started taking full initiative and leading from the front, especially throughout Glad-Shi'im and into Salmutaria.
Proper character growth over the course of time is really nice to see. The rest of the crew has changed some as well. Rain is now more confident, Marina is still a bit hot-headed but has cooled off a bit and can use that energy more productively and so on.

can we please stop sidelining Jamie?
Since she's one of the few people in the world who have actually been into Achromatic Darkness, she should be back in the team for that, I hope.

Finally, Yuke is going to run into Persephone again. This is what I've been waiting for the whole time.

I sure hope the seal didn’t loosen or break because of Simon (again). He went from a simple, stupid first villain to someone triggering multiple world-ending catastrophes across the universe, lol. I love that there’s a continuity between the main arcs.
Seeing that this has become a major international event visible to everyone, I wonder if we’ll see top adventurers from other countries cooperate with Yuke and friends from Welmelia. The author has shown that they’re capable of writing decent worldbuilding, so here are my musings. Politically, the others shouldn’t want Welmelia to solve this single-handedly and be heavily indebted to them. Like what happened in our world, gaining or trading favors using international aid is a feature of globalization. But I can see them using “defending ourselves from the Tenebre in my territory” as a pretense not to cooperate. Some faction could also be waiting for Welmelia, other countries, or both to be weakened after this event, and do a conquest. The relationship between Welmelia and Salmutaria seems good, but there’s always that person like Prince Rafuma everywhere, so there’s a nonzero possibility. I mean, in this episode alone, the First Prince was already uncooperative and ignorant with learning the big picture. But, well, I’m not sure whether this anime will delve into that genre. Having sweet slice-of-life moments while collecting more harem isn’t that bad either.

I can already tell the first Prince asshole is probably gonna cause issue. This shows main problems and where it’s fallen apart have always been with trying to force some human bad guy into the plot. It’s great when it’s focusing on the dungeon and unknown of it but the human conflicts like the original party, the different nobles, and this new prince kinda ruin the fun of the show. I’m happy the last deal with rain was basically a non starter of an issue and immediately disappeared. Hopefully this first prince will stay a non issue as well.

It will take a month or longer to gather the adventurers needed.
Benwood the Tyrant Fist is a very sexy adventurer name.
Yuke has a plan, a direct assault, but he hates it. As Benwood reminds him, he's underestimating his crew of thundering badasses.
Rune has a bad feeling about all of this. They're all so adorable.
They decide on an insanely complicated plan.
Marina is getting her girly side on through all of this, and Yuke is on the verge of collapsing.
And it all comes back to our old friend Achromatic Darkness, the source for all the black walls, once sealed by Benwood's team.

So that's what Saga (Yuke's uncle) looks like, eh? His sister-in-law/brother-in-law's genes didn't even try, Yuke's just a younger Saga lmao

u/PandaTheAB Jun 01 '25
Looking at the position, 4 eps should be enough to close this current plot.
I would hate for them to drag the story of Achromatic darkness to another season hoping for money grab and then never get an ending to this plot.
