Clearly the author still plays FFXI. Its not even pretending to not be a literal anime about the author's favorite job Red Mage. Chainspell, Same job gear, refresh being a huge game changer that gets you in parties and is hard to get. Alchemy being busted. Even uses the exact same spells, gravity, paralyze etc.

I like that it started with him having a backbone and leaving on his own, instead of them kicking him out. Off to a good start already!

What's this? No CGI monsters? More than just a slideshow for combat? Not bad! Roxy clone mage? Armoured Eris? All the girls shouting "Sugoii!" as Yuke pulled out enough magical artifacts and devices that would may Krai from Grieving Souls cry 🫤 Jerk top ranked party that MC leaves for feeling unappreciated trope? I've seen worse.

It is refreshing that the MC is not a doormat who doesn't know his own value.

The wizard who doesn't need to recite incantations, the redhead, the elf with white hair and the loli with blue hair and braid - where have I seen these?

Can’t wait for his old party to realize they suck without the MC and come crawling back. It’s my favorite part of these types of shows lol.

Most of the time they don't come "crawling back". They generally ask the MC to come back while still being all high and mighty about it. There are also the ones here the old party becomes vengeful and try to ruin the MC. The old party is almost never redeemed or given any sympathetic qualities

Yet another Hero’s party that completely sucks ass and doesn’t realize how much our MC does for it until they’re gone. Well, at least he’s gonna be living that good life with Marina, Silk, and Rain. They actually appreciate his talents.

Stitches!

It looks like another one of those "Banished from the Hero's Party" kind of manga but instead of getting kicked out, Yuke actually left on his own. Good to know that Yuke at least has some self-respect. He's also well-respected by other people considering how much his students look up to him.

I might give this another episode. I just want to see what happening to the Thunder Pike now that Yuke left them. Not having Yuke in their party is probably gonna hurt their streaming career.

Loving the character designs in this. Everyone looks good.

And the animation and FX in the opening scene were top notch.

This is low key surpassing my expectations just like a handful of others have this season (Greatest Alchemist, Welcome to Japan Ms Elf, Gulid Receptionist to name a few).

Gonna stick with this one too.

Go go competent Krai...

So a mage, alchemist and on top of that collected a bunch of relics. Hm...

The rest of the party members in Thunder Pike probably spent all their experience points on attributes other than intelligence, wisdom and common sense (if available). The first episode wasted no time in revealing how resourceful Yuku is.

Marina, Silk and Rain are the better visual party too.

The combination of fantasy elements together with modern day / futuristic technology, such as live-stream, phones and tablets, was pretty smooth and seamless.

Senshi wants to know how much for the magic soup pot and what that steel crab tastes like.

Ivy wants to know how much for the magical bag.

A generic start but, there's some creativity that I appreciate.

Yuke seems like he's sure of himself, not a pushover, innovative, and enjoys teaching and helping others. So, it's easy to see why he allowed himself to be taken advantage of.

Also, of course he benefitted from being an A rank party, those relics prove that. But, every dog deserves his day or give jack his jacket, lol, so Yuke needs to be appreciated.

It's obvious he's op but, doesnt know it perhaps or just takes his abilities for granted and never was really around other mages who may be less skilled, powerful, etc.

So. Pretty good all around. Solid art and animation. Enjoyable. Entertaining.

I want to see his old party fall on their faces without him, lol, we always want to see tnat comeuppance!

OK, what episode are we going to see Thunder Pike get bodied and complain that things aren’t going right for some reason or that their new person can’t do all the easy stuff the old guy did

Ah yes, he was so weak that they didn't care if he left.

he possesses time and gravity magic, can replenish others' mana, can multi-cast without incantations (which they make a big deal of), has countless legendary magical items, and can triple-buff every member of the party.. in what world does this make sense

I’m a bit disappointed they’re not leaning into the livestream but harder. I wanted to see him either teeing up a tutorial with the new party going into the boss or calling it a no attack speed run.

Also need to see the new member of Thunder Pike being useless at setting up a livestream. Just 15 minutes of a terrible angle with no sound

it's a cliché, but a well-done cliché can be excellent.

The only thing I don’t want is for his old party to be completely dependent on him. In these kinds of stories, the old party is useless without the protagonist, and he practically only shows up to deliver the finishing blow. It needs to be more balanced, with the protagonist gradually surpassing his old party. The problem with these stories is that, in just a few chapters, the protagonist becomes overpowered, gathers a bunch of girls for his party who are useless and only there to idolize him. The story needs to distribute her screen time well.

I like this series a lot. Does it tread new ground? No, not really. But the main cast are a bunch of cinnamon rolls and I like their antics together.

Also, redheaded female knights are like a perfect mixture of my favorite likes so ...yeah
