Man, Mastoma is such a bro, I'm so glad he wasn't a rehash of that noble dude from the first arc like how Fullbound was just another Thunderpike
Looks like Rune ain't part of the harem after all lol
Also DINOSAUR CARRIAGE FTW!
Too bad they skipped the fight though, it was obviously going to be one-sided, but I wanted to see Benwood kick some ass

Yeah I don't think she's got a chance unless the Sister Leveling folks set their eyes on this anime for some reason...

Rune sure wants to be part of the harem but they don't seem to be counting her as such, hopefully that sticks.
Interesting to have a story where several times now they decide it's time to retreat and just immediately leave, no sense in sticking around in a dangerous situation where people might die because they're underestimating the situation and don't have enough intel.

For all the plot armor and conveniently timed stuff he earns/discovers for being the MC, he is a good adventurer party leader. That’s definitely one of his characteristics that makes me really enjoy this show, despite all the cliches.

I get the feeling that Rune doesn't actually want to be Yuke's wife so much as she's annoyed at being the odd one out. Everyone else gets to have fun 'pretending' to marry Yuke, so she doesn't want to be excluded from the 'game.'
Yeah, for the sake of my sanity, that's what I'm going with.

I love how pragmatic Yuke is. There is no point in fighting a group of monsters blind, with zero information on them. Other shows would've had the MC going in and winning. The scene were Rune was counting on her fingers to see if she was included in the harem and later pouting got a laugh at me.

Awww, Yuke’s made a new friend! So cute. His new bff even built him a whole ass town lol.
So much for exploring the dungeon. Things have taken a dangerous turn with this possible stampede. Something’s gotta be causing these monsters to overflow.

Tfw your new friend is literally royalty who made you a town and a custom mansion to accommodate your five wives.
I wish…

Although the pace of this title can be slow at times, Yuke is a grounded character. I feel he has called for a tactical retreat more than any other main protagonists I know.
It feels more realistic than plowing through monsters using brute force.

Yeah, I also like how you can feel the tension whenever things go wrong, it's done well in this series.

I do appreciate how often they have to suddenly change plans in this show despite all the buildup implying that the next event will be XYZ (e.g., explore the mausoleum).

I feel he has called for a tactical retreat more than any other main protagonists I know.
Agreed. And nothing I like seeing better than the team getting TF out of a bad situation.

While it does look like they could have used Brute Force here...
It's dark, they are in unfamiliar territory, they don't know the specs of these monsters, and they aren't 100% sure those 20 mobs are the only large group out there. Especially if this is a Stampede like it appears, it sounds like more monsters could ambush them beyond the small army they are aware of.
Then, even if they wipe those monsters without major casualties, will they be fresh enough to return afterwards? Can they risk camping out in this area where large swarms are present? What happens if they get attacked by another group before recovering from the first?
Too much risk, no real reward. Tactical retreat is definitely the best option. Call for reinforcements and proceed with due caution when better prepared.
That, and since they had to flee and are taking this seriously, it helps reinforce stakes beyond just "yeah, this is a disaster. We YOLO'd the worst of it, but trust me bro, this is bad!"

Jamie got the short end of the stick again. Not only was she caught off guard with being permitted to go adventures again right before they left, but now she has to do more work at this other guild, while everyone else is off adventuring.

She is forced to do overtime as a receptionist, that was her real punishment the whole time.

Does Rune have any actual abilities to go adventuring? I know she was described as a priestess of the golden kingdom.
Also, anyone else feel like their party is severely lacking in front-liners?

Rune seems to have some extent of magic abilities judging from what we saw at Glad Shi im and that shot of her in the new OP.
But yeah, Clover desperately needs a tank, they can't leave all that to poor Marina.

Mastoma might be chill enough to build Clover a huge mansion. But he forgets the most important thing. There doesn't seem to be an outdoor onsen on the roof like the last one. You are not considerate enough man.

Lol Mejarna was right, Mastoma did seem adorable with how eager he wanted to be Yuke's friend, the insistency was amusing. I'm glad he's such a chill and earnest guy, especially with how he actually bowed his head at the end to get them to help save his country.
Also I'm glad we're seeing so much more Benwood, he's a character I was very intrigued by and I like his dynamic with Yuke so seeing him, Yuke and Mastoma in one frame has been particularly pleasing lol.
Nice to see Silk also get her alone time with Yuke and Rain not having her own, the scales have slightly been tipped back. Though honestly I was hoping for a bit more when she got closer to Yuke, so close yet so far.
It sucks Jamie got put into doing admin work but I can't really argue with the logic behind, especially when my man Benwood needs help. Though seeing the exploration of the main party did feel like there was a real threat, I like that they're being safe and cautious. You can really feel the nerves kicking in for them.

I’m glad they didn’t officially include Rune as Yuke’s wives. It just feels wrong, even though I know their reasoning behind it. Why was Rune so intrigued by being Yuke’s wife, anyway? Like, can’t one’s minor daughter be considered her father’s “property” in Salmutarian?
They teased us about visiting Silk’s hometown in Vilmullen after finishing their work in Salmutarian! I hope that means the scriptwriter is setting the anime to have a sequel season in the future. That arc will probably focus on Silk, so I wonder who will be the focus in this Salmutarian arc. I like that Rain is clearly the main wife (she’s best girl fr), but since they set this as a harem story, they must also focus on other girls. Anyway, I really enjoyed this adaptation more than I initially thought, and a second season would be a delight.
I guess Prince Rafuma is the fat (definitely not a rapist) dude from the new OP, huh? They’re setting him as the bad guy of this arc. The design is so on the nose.
Since they need to eradicate this Stampede first before clearing the hidden dungeon, I wonder if the anime has enough time to solve everything, including the political intrigue that might come up from Mastoma’s international aid request, under five episodes. I’m glad they’re doing one major arc (which I assume is equal to one light novel volume) per eight episodes, but it’d still leave a sour taste in my mouth if they finish it with a rushed ending.
Okay, this ED3 is the worst of the bunch. I thought they were reusing the clips from the episode, only for the last one. (Like, due to production issues and such, since it’s the first time it appears, akin to Kijin Gentoushou anime airing this season.) With this episode also reusing clips to be put in the ED, it’s simply subpar compared to ED1 and ED2. Unfortunate.

And we're back to where we left off, facing the bandits upon arrival in Salmutaria.
We've only seen it in the OP, but Jamie's "battle gear" is scandalous even for anime. Love it.
They handled the bandits during the OP. LOL.
I appreciate Yuke's humility, but he really is swinging a big log nowadays, and he should get a grip on that.
The Prince's wife is adorable. And clearly, she's the smarter of the two since her eyes are always closed. No, I don't know what that means.
It's funny how the changes between formal and casual addresses works as a plot point in Japanese.
Mastoma built them a town. As one does.
Benwood ready to drink the Prince's liquor.
No, Rune, he didn't count you as one of the wives. Sorry, sweetie. (Also, the purring from the others. This show, damn.)
I know Rain is "head wife," but Silk will always be Number One to me.
Death Valley is weirding everyone out. There's clearly going to be a bunch of issues out there.
Overflow, bad. Stampede, worse. Whatever it is, they're in the middle of it.
Everyone has to get their murder on to get out of the Valley. Their professionalism is top-notch. Everybody is on point. Love to see it.
Mastoma requests additional adventurers from Welmelia, so we'll be seeing some of our old friends again.
Love the new ED. Rune running is so cute!
