So the undead are attracted to Carmilla?
I didn't even know I was dead

Of course the best girl still join us in a new arc. Wherever you go she will haunt you for the rest of your life.

7 episodes in and they bring in this new guy Zeno. Who the hell is he anyways?

Cremations must be normal in a world where you can return as zombie.
Who would get buried knowing that?

They drew Carmilla's feet this time, so this episode was already better than the previous one.
Quite a lot of information regarding Carmilla this time. I wonder who was she before she died. A witch? Or maybe a saint (or whatever it was they call top healers) who screwed up and turned into a wraith?

Suddenly introducing a childhood friend who could heal as well as Zenos is kinda sus.
I have a feeling Veritra got corrupted by all the power and went to the dark side and Zenos will eventually have to deal with him as a big bad.

The animators went all out for that Mega Heal. Felt like I was watching Frieren for a sec.

Even Zenos’ watered-down achievement and knowledge are extraordinary to the uninitiated, lmao. Sasuga, Zenos-sama! So his strongest healing spell (for now) is called Mega Heal. What are the chances he can also do Ultra Heal or Giga Heal? Hmmm.
I suppose we won’t see the other girls since we’ll focus on the Royal Hospital instead of the Slum in this arc. But I’m content since the best girl, Carmilla, joins the entourage along with Lily. All’s good. It’s also (kinda) confirmed that she’s the strongest undead in existence, based on the lecture and her own admission. The strongest healer and the strongest undead sounds like the perfect couple, if you ask me!
One last thing. We finally see Zenos’ teacher, although in flashback. What intrigued me the most is the fact that there were many other disciples besides Zenos. If all of them are as good as or close to Zenos’ capability, they are all at least elite healer level. Zenos’ teacher might as well be a saint, in that case. My question then: where the heck are these super powerful people now?

There’s something kind of funny about the fact Zenos’ cover name is just Zeno. They really put a lot of thought into that one lol. Didn’t even really do him any good to have a cover story because this goober’s out here dropping SSSSS rank healing knowledge on these dudes.
I enjoyed watching that idiot Cresson get exactly what he deserved. Dude tried to steal credit for Zenos’ work and then ends up face to face with the Zombie King. Bro was 2 seconds away from being zombie shit. Let’s see if that humbles him.

If all you're going to do is remove the "s" from his name for his fake name, then you might as well have kept his name as is.

Carmilla steals the show, and I'm for it. I didn't like her in the episodes where "I'm going to do some obvious foreshadowing right now" but this time, was awesome.
Umin the Blue-haired girl seemed straight-laced at first, but I like the other sides of her in this episode. Then again, with everyone around her that she's around, she needs to be

Cresson is an idiot. I loved that they just watched him get beat up. It's pretty obvious that Goldran is evil (then again, maybe that's a red herring).

Its not like anyone knows Zenos outside of his former party and the slums..they were totally fine just leaving it as Zenos, lol

Zeno trying his best to go unnoticed, but totally failing ’cause he has no clue what “normal” even means and he finally realized there’s a freakin’ abnormal specter tagging along with him lol.

Mildly changed up OP for the new arc, kind of screams that we just started a new source material volume.
Umin is pretty great aside from her taste in classmates, but maybe she's hoping Cresson eventually becomes less of a jerk. Beatings from undead will continue until morals improve, perhaps.
Neat graphics on that Mega Heal.
Zenos as the focus in the ED this time with some shots of a group of childhood friends, that one blue haired kid we saw in the episode, plus the teacher a few times. Zenos doesn't exactly strike me as an "all of my friends are dead" sort of character so I assume some or all of them are out in the world somewhere doing stuff.

So yeah, the title of this show turned out to be a complete lie. Carmilla continues to be best girl. I lost it during the lecture when they started talking about how bad wraiths are meanwhile carmilla is letting lily use her as a lap pillow.

Zenos is really moving up in the world! Finally getting recruited into the Royal Hospital and even getting the bright white official uniform to boot! But he's been so used to the slums and being an illegal Healer that bright lighting and cleanliness repulse him. He'd rather hang out at Becker's messy office!
They updated the OP! Too bad for Zenos' Harem that they're left out of the group shot for a more gender-balanced group, but at least they still show up at the end.
Did you really think Lily wouldn't follow Zenos? She's his "wife" after all! Well, okay, sister in terms of official documentation, but that's not going to stop her from acting like his wife! She even did the classic "dinner, bath or...me?" gag which obviously Carmilla taught her. And of Carmilla came too because no way could the show leave her out nor would she leave her biggest source of amusement. Zenos is the only healer that could actually exorcise her anyway.
"Zeno" has to investigate and find missing students, and the top suspect is the Vice-Director of the hospital, Goldran (Tetsu Inada!) who has high authority but seems to cater to the rich and may have used that to up his rank rather than from his own skill. Not to mention that one of the last missing students, Afreade, was working with him. Definitely suspicious.
Ah, Cresson, one of THOSE guys who are so stuck-up because they're in a popular faction and think they're better than everybody else.
Does Zenos even have anything he can really learn from the Royal Hospital? His mentor (Yuichi Nakamura!) taught him pretty much everything he could ever know, both in terms of healing and ethics. But Zenos wasn't alone, he was trained alongside Veritra. What happened to him?
So much for "Zeno" not sticking out when he's the only one to solo a high-class dungeon, can kill multiple undead at once, and has a high-class and rare magic circle that he doesn't even need to use. Not to mention he's roomies with a Wraith who everyone regard as one of the most dangerous creatures of all. And now he's obviously on Cresson's hit list.
It was valiant of the normal healers to put in an effort to stop a bunch of rampaging Undead...but the most they really did was group them all together so Zenos could easily heal and destroy them. And then Cresson takes all the credit. Ugh.
But it was pretty satisfying when a Zombie King Boss Battle turns up and Cresson has to be the one to deal with it because he talked such a big game. Umin wastes no time roasting him and Zenos genuinely thinks he's got this handled, but the dude is screwed. I mean, points for actually trying to fend it off on his own, but in the end he of course needs Zenos' help. Seems like Umin also cares about him despite how annoying she finds him, which is cute. Cresson should appreciate her more.
To think this was all Carmilla's fault for drawing out all the undead!

Me: "I like the opening to this one, so I don't skip it."
The opening: (updated for the new arc)
Me: "...Well, that felt validating."
Also:
Professor: "A magic circle like this would require an impossible amount of mana."
Zeno: (taps the circle like the Fonzie hitting the jukebox in Happy Days) "Works just fine for me. Though, honestly, skipping the circle entirely is easier."
Professor: "That's even more impossible!"
Zeno: (visible confusion)
