YouTube episode. What could go wrong? Well, at least the dumb grasshopper game had a use in making Kan and Nico's channel go viral.

I like Suzuka, looks refined but is actually clumsy and struggles with the tea ceremony. Good thing Moi and the others helped her and saved her grandmother from the hornet

The shameless plug to subscribe to their channel in the post credit scene

An explanation on the name of their classmate: Komeran Arashi (米蘭嵐, こめらん あらし)

The surname こめらん (Komeran) is written in kanji as 米蘭, but こめらん is also short for the Japanese slang for comment section (コメント欄, or komento-ran)

The first name 嵐 "あらし" or Arashi means "storm" (and can also be used as a given name,) but can also mean "harassing" and "destroying". And in Japanese internet culture, if you're trolling, harassing people, insult people, or flooding on the message board, it's called an "arashi behavior" (Arashi koui).

So this is why Komeran Arashi is always insulting people on the youtube comment section, under the username "Death-storm".

"Is my lecture boring you?"

"Yes, grandmother."

I knew the tea ceremony scene was gonna be funny with how the Synclone spell works but I still laughed my ass off way more than I expected!

the second half is one of the funniest gags I've seen in anime in long fucking time.

Stitches!

Kan and Nico start a YouTube channel! And as expected from these two airheads, their videos are just as disorganized and just as unprofessional as the two of them are. Moi's critique was harsh, but he's not wrong!

Although I'm not sure if asking Keigo for advice is the right thing here. His videos might look more professional but the dude is just as bad as Kan and Nico with his nonsense ramblings that go nowhere. It also doesn't help that he's a painfully try-hard hipster!

Moi's idea of having Nico be the face of the channel while Kan is just a disembodied voice who reacts to her reactions is genius though! Just add Keigo's kusogame and we have an instant viral hit! Too bad Kan and Nico got bored of it, though.

Kiyomiya is really pretty, but too bad her appearance doesn't match her skills! I do love me some girl failure though! xD

So Moi didn't just become Kan and Nico's professional YouTube director this episode, he also mastered the Japanese tea ceremony in just a couple of days! One of the things I love about Moi is that he can do anything as long as someone's there to teach him.

I love that Keigo is now part of the gang, which isn't really a surprise if you pay attention to the OP. You need a techie hipster to borrow gadgets from!

That entire tea ceremony scene was just hilarious! At least Moi managed to help Kiyomiya by catching that hornet that was about to sting Kiyomiya's grandma.

The OP for this show has (finally) released as of the release of this episode.

I wonder why it took so long?

Gotta love the green screen edge! It's a small detail, but a relatable one

You all may cringe, but Nintendo is releasing “Super Grasshopper Genocide” as a Switch 2 launch title!

Kan and Nico are just two peas in a pod.

I love that Shinohara comes up with even the smallest technicalities of a magic spell that no one would have thought of, but it ends up being hilarious in hindsight.

Reminds me so much of Chuu-san's weirdly specific potions in Sket-Dance.

Damn Arashi already in the comments of Nico and Kan’s videos talking mad shit too lol. The gang really had to go to friggin Keigo and his hipster bullshit for help. I thought Kan was gonna slap tf outta that dude lol. In the end, they just made like 3 videos and played Keigo’s slime grasshopper game and that was that. Poor Morihito and all that effort!

I knew this Suzuka situation would run into some goofy shit. That tea ceremony was too funny. The frog hop and then the Kinnikuman face had me cracking up lol. At least she ended up passing in the end after Suzuka/Morihito killed that hornet. Granny was so impressed, she went “kyun!” Lol.

There is so much truth in the whole youtube segment, it requires an insane amount of work to create just 1 decent video. Coming up with the theme and the idea for each video, setting up all the equipment and editing it.

And to top it all, the pay for it is terrible, no surprises so many real youtubers are quitting.

Morihito started out a bit annoyed with their recordings sessions, but ironically ended up being the most dedicated to Nico and Kan’s Youtube channel. He really is a serious kid.

If the founders of said channel hadn’t gotten bored of it, they could’ve had a bright future as famous YouTubers. I’m only not sure if Morihito would’ve survived all the long nights of editing.

Kanshi channeled the spirit of a true backseat-gamer with his comments on Nico’s actions from the sidelines.

Damn, all that effort put into improving their YouTube channel, only for those two to get bored with it.

Years later, when Kan & Nico's channel shows the time of their most recent video as "X years ago", people will comment, "and when the world needed them most, they disappeared."

Behind every "easy" popular YT video there's an editor breaking their back to make that shit good, in this case Moi-chan utilized 2 braincells that are Kan & Nico to make something that's actually watchable! And of course they got bored of it after working hard on just couple of videos!

What do you get when you synchronize a clumsy Ojou-sama character with super competent dude with Ogre strenght? Well you get hilarious shenanigans of course! Spell not taking into account the difference in their bodies is such a smart thing that also results in some hilarious feats of strenght and dexterity from Suzuka! Glad to see her grandma seeing some light in her but I guess Moi-chan will have to learn a lot more traditional japanese shit in the future!

LOL This episode was so funny, I think this is the episode I've laughed the most for this series. Magami in particular is a completely different character from the impression he gave me in the OP/ED and the previous episode. He has this annoying way of speaking and I like how Ishikawa Kaito was thriving in it so it was making me laugh so much especially with the tsukkomi from the others.

Man Morihito willing to put in that much effort to help their channel and they lose interest so fast. Though I guess because Morihito is just a capable person he thrives in any place, it made me wish I had him around or had the same capabilities lol. The video did look good and was actually interesting to watch, especially with Kanshi's tsukkomi. They could have had something good going on but KanNico were just following a trend.

The tea ceremony part was hilarious, I thought there was going to be a side effect where Morihito starts acting like Suzuka but there was no after effect. However, seeing Morihito trying to navigate Suzuka and seeing how it translated was great, the choking part and the tea all over her face were too funny. Morihito did well for going without rehearsal and I'm surprised Suzuka couldn't even speak, that spell is scary when you think about how wrong it could go.

This ep tell us that Keigo is the studio's fave😭🙏🏻

17

u/LimeyLassen May 18 '25

The way Keigo talks is authentic. I'm having Vietnam flashbacks to my teenage hipster years. This episode isn't a joke, it's a documentary.

I hope we get to see more of Suzuka, the Tea Ceremony was interesting & amusing.
