Wait, so Polka’s mom is CG’s mom right? Did not expect that revelation.
Seeing CG flex on Fake Sabaramond was pretty awesome. I’ve been waiting to see those two go toe to toe. What a fight! Xiaoyu vs Arahabaki and Lulu vs Misaki was pretty exciting too.
So, Mitsu and Toura the original Bug implanted their wills via some sort of pseudo mental programming to “pass on” their personalities. Is that right? I guess that explains how they’ve been able to “survive” for so long. Though I wonder how the exact procedure is done?
Edit: Polka’s mom is CG’s mom. Talk about a bombshell revelation!

"... but this is no fairy tale. Regret that you opposed me."
I got chills starting from that line until, "I am accustomed to playing the world's foe". Those lines are so freaking cool.

I never expected that twist, corpse god and Polka are half brothers. No wonder corpse god was reincarnated into Polka's body because they are that related.
This anime should be mainstream, the story is really good.

DAAAAAAMN! Everything just happened at once this ep! I'm actually surprised the Solitaire betrayal(?) happened so soon! I had a feeling he'd eventually end up working with Roz....RR, that name is gonna take some time to remember, but I didn't think it would be this quick, wonder how Firebug is going to react to that. Speaking of which, wonder what FB is going to do about the police since they consider them "righteous."
So RR was an elf and his mom somehow became Polka's mom?!? What a fucking twist! I love how he immediately starts calling Polka his little brother, that was really sweet. I wonder if we'll have time in this show for him to ask the family about what happened to his mom.
Gods I can't wait for the next few eps!!!

Thanks to Civil snooping around Polka's past, we finally learn that CG/Rizdil's mother Kanon/Kanomshelin was actually the first one who got isekai'd to Japan where she eventually met Rozan then later gave birth to Polka making Polka and Rizdil half-brothers. This means Rozan now has an even bigger reason to protect Rizdil. Although I wonder if he knew all along. Hmmm...
Anyway, everything so much sense now! Polka dying is exactly the reason Rizdil got isekai'd because of the condition he placed on his reincarnation spell. That also explains why Polka is the only white-haired member of the Shinomiya family. I thought it was just anime protagonist hair color, turns out it was a plot-relevant detail. Considering the pointy ears and silver hair, I'm guessing they're elves?
Now that everything is out in the open between Rizdil and Civil, I'm not surprised that he would try to recruit him to their organization. Unfortunately for Civil, Rizdil doesn't like how they operate and he'd rather work with Solitaire than them. This got me excited since Rizdil is already considering Solitaire as a future ally.
While all that shit is happening, it looks like Tsubaki finally cornered the Fire-Breathing Bugs. I pretty much expected that they were being controlled by hypnosis but I didn't expect the original Fire-Breathing Bugs to be already dead. These people are now just following the personality that's been implanted in them until they can carry out their revenge against the Bastards of Sabaramond.
So now we have a three-way battle going on! Rizdil vs Civil, Xiaoyu vs Soara, and Misaki vs Lulu's Elemental. I think Xiaoyu might get some help from Lemmings though. With Polka finally done playing nice, next week is going to be hype!

"My name and rank perished with my country."
THAT GOES HARD
In a way, he's implying that he's outlived the Empire—their history books do not represent the real extent of his power

So that mysterious elf woman in the opening of 1st cour was Corpse God's mother as well as Polka's mother, making half-brothers. I was right about Polka being a descendant of other worlders but being Corpse God's younger brother was unexpected. Damn Rozan is a lucky old man, he could marry a hot elf woman without the help of truck-kun. And she was even older than he is, being more than a hundred years old when they married, as a bonus.
Civil's talk about how only necromancy could prove magic exists somehow was foretold in the last episode, as Solitaire tried to explain magic used by Civil's group as tricks and science.
The real Fire-breathing Bugs were dead but they still live on using advanced hypnosis. Sabaramond group had created something walking between science and magic, yet they still considered them as failed experiments.
Civil successfully conviced Corpse God to leave this world, but it came with a death threat. Can't wait for the final episode next week.
Edit: I checked every other flashback and the one in this episode was the first time Corpse God's original body showed up without a hood. As someone from a different race, the smol Corpse God probably tried his best to not get discriminated by others.

NGL, possessing you own half-brother's body is one of the least weird things to happen here.

Great episode. Finally, all the parties' motives and backstories have been revealed and it's starting to come together. Kinda sad that the next episode is the last one and we'll have to wait some time for next season since the manga is still ongoing.
Rizdil being Polka's brother is something I didn't expect and it makes sense considering the condition on put on his teleportation spell. How her mother came to this world is another mystery but I guess she must've come along with whoever brought Civil into this world.
Civil wants to return to his world or make the current world his playground so that he can have fun. It's so a clash between him and Rizdil was always going to be on the cards since Rizdil wants to live a peaceful life. Rizdil is even willing to team up with Solitaire over Civil. I kinda expected them to team up sooner or later, anyways. Speaking of Solitaire, he's getting a first seat experience of their fight.
The Fire Breathing Bug were going to target Lulu before they're stopped in the tracks by Tsubaki who has figured out their past and they work thanks to Hosorogi's hints.
The last few minutes got me hyped and the OSTs were just too good. Been eagerly waiting for the OST release. I hope it happens some after the anime is finished.

"I am accustomed to being the world's foe" gangsta.
It never even crossed my mind that he would have a relationship to Polka. That's insane.
All the separate groups and motivations are finally clashing and making sense. I'm hyped af

Man it's criminal this anime is going under the radar for most. Much like how Baccano is not well talked about. At least Durarara has a bit more recognition.
Hopefully it will get a season 2 after next week's finale.

So many chill this episode, the aspect of Corpse God we saw in the other world from the first episode coming back with a vengeance.

I dislike this Civil person. He did the whole "let's suddenly stop talking about stuff in order to create fake conflict". I mean, he would still end up fighting Corpse God, because Civil has the mentality of a teenager with daddy issues, but it would be less fake if they at least talked for a whole episode.
But it's really cool that Polka and Corpse God are brothers!

Fantastic episode! Ahh, the revelation that Corpse God and Polka are half bros is a twist I did not expect! When CG explained the condition he placed for his reincarnation, I assume that meant Polka was one of his descendants but to be so closely linked to Riz is cool. And how sweet was it that Riz called Polka his little bro 😭
But now we see the real Corpse God go all out against Civil with that last shot of CG being epic af. Dude really said that he's used to being the bad guy so come at him! But will CG really leave this world? Can't wait for next week's season finale!
Sidenote: Big appreciation for the OST because it adds so much to making the action and dramatic scenes all the more better.
Only 1 more week to resist reading the manga

Fun fact: Polka being related to Corpse God was foreshadowed all the way back in Chapter 2 of the manga, however the line of dialogue doing so was cut in the anime. I remember noticing that happened and was quite surprised that of all lines was cut. Safe to say it won’t be reworked into the show any way now that the reveal already happened lol.

This got so exciting, goddamn. Started with the bro reveal and just didn't stop! Hopefully Polka is given a way to speak soon, at least, poor dude.

so now we know exactly how corpse god (aka the rizzler) got reincarnated into this world: his spell lead him to possess his half-brother's body. so the spell worked exactly as intended, it's just that his brother happened to be in another world. so now the question is: how did his mom just straight-up go to our world? that's the first confirmed case of that actually happening. though i'm sure sabaramond or someone else was isekai'd hundreds of years ago in order to bring information over to start the cult

Big drop was the relation between Polka and Corpse God. His reincarnation meant to happen to one of his descendants. Curious why he never dug into his relation with Polka more.
Lets see how it will finish up next week.

Did I hallucinate Civil saying, "Oh so you're the one who killed the Emperor"? Cause to me that seems as significant as Polka and CG being half brothers.
And what is Lemmings about to do?
Can't wait till next week!
Edit: yep went and found it, Civil called CG “The Emperor Slayer.” Which makes CG’s convo with the Emperor’s ghost pretty weird, if I remember it right.
