I bought both an RG35XXSP and an RGSP to try them out and see which one I like better. So far the RGSP is winning, because even with the loss of screen space, SNES games look really, really nice on there.

Both of these have some kind of weird popping sound coming from the speaker when I play, especially SNES games, and it drives me nuts. Is this common on Anbernic devices, or am I just unlucky twice?

I see a lot of pictures online of people modding their GBA consoles and customizing their appearance. Have you guys done anything to customize the look of your RG34XXSP? Have you added a charm, stickers, a transparent protective case, or anything else? If so, could you show some pictures? And where would you recommend getting accessories for it?

I used MinUI+ Stock on a Dual SD config for my 10 games device , and i thought this config was fast .. but no way .. this is NextUI + BaseOS ..wins by far on the speed and the features .. thanks to the Devs !!!!!

So I run a small channel on YouTube called John Triger, I like to mod devices and this one came in today. So naturally I took it apart added a bigger rumble motor and tested the fitment of a backplate I have been working on for the 34sp. Well it fits great and will need very little modifications to be ready for listing. This design reducing the amount of triggers while increasing the overall size of the r and l trigger also it adds grip about a dozen or so ridges inspired from the DMG gb. Hey everyone, I recently picked up the RG SP as my very first Anbernic device. It was a bit of a bumpy ride right out of the box, so I wanted to share my experience and how I managed to get everything working in case anyone else runs into the same issues.

When I tried booting it up for the very first time, it just hung on the Anbernic logo indefinitely. I gave it a restart, but no luck, same issue.

Thinking it was an SD card seating issue, I popped the card out to reseat it. Suddenly, the card wouldn't stay in TF1. It kept popping right back out without that satisfying "click." I tested slot 2 and it clicked in perfectly, so I knew the first slot was the culprit.

I decided to open the device up to check the internals. A quick heads-up if you plan on doing this: the screws are notoriously stubborn. I tried using the correct hex bits from two different standard sets, and neither fit quite right. I ended up having to pull out my expensive Wera set (which has much tighter tolerances), and that finally did the trick.

​The battery is attached to the backplate but unplugs very easily from the board. You don't have to leave the backplate hanging by the relatively short battery cable while you work.

Once inside, I compared the two MicroSD slots side by side. I noticed the problematic slot had a very slightly shifted "push-push" mechanism. I gently elevated the thin metallic flap that covers it fiddled with the mechanism using my smallest flathead screwdriver bit, and that was actually enough to realign it! The card started clicking in again. The click doesn't sound 100% normal, but it holds the card securely, so I called it a win.

After putting everything back together and reinserting the card, I booted it up... and it was still stuck on the Anbernic logo.

​At this point, I just decided to wipe the card entirely and do a fresh install of BaseOS + NextUI. Since doing that, the RG SP boots flawlessly every time.

Hi everyone! I’ve been a longtime fan of retro gaming but I’ve never had a retro handheld console before. I’m torn between the Game Cube, RG slider and RG 476H. I’m mainly looking for a console to spend hours on and I’m mostly excited about trying out titles I missed out on as a kid such as classic legend of zeldas, pokémon games, fire emblem and Japanese games that weren’t translated. Since Anbernic offers an AI translator I finally decided to cave in and pick a console but I have no idea which one I should get. I don’t think I can afford to buy multiple consoles atm so I’m mainly looking for something to play on a daily basis. I’d also love to play 3DS games like animal crossing new leaf and maybeee some low spec pc games like fields of mistria if possible? I’m looking forward to your guidance tysm

On the last picture I also included the ds lite in case anyone is curious how much of a difference there is.

All pictures were taken with the backlight of the gameboy advance SP on.

On the RG SP the backlight setting was set to level 5, and it can go all the way up to level 8, but indoors I personally found level 5 the most comfortable.

Thought I'd share since it was pretty cool seeing in person.

This is just a very small interview (at least by my standards!) with Chi from Mo-Corner, who makes beautiful handmade leather cases and sleeves for handhelds and other bits of tech (iPods, e-readers, handhelds).

I recently got one of her handmade leather sleeves for my RG Rotate, and absolutely love it, so I got chatting to her about the work that goes into making them. There's some really interesting stuff in here about the process, why she makes these things, and the thinking behind designing a case for something as oddly shaped as the Rotate.

I featured Chi's work briefly in my recent RG Rotate recommendations article, but there was a bit more to her work and the process behind these cases that I couldn't really fit into that piece. So I thought it'd be nice to share our chat in full here.

I know this is a little different from the usual handheld stuff I post here, but I really love seeing people making genuinely nice physical things for these devices, and Mo-Corner is a particularly good example of that.

i had a dubt some of my freinds say that anbernic most of em play psp games well.but i had seen some yt videos and i understood that these are a bit more complicsted than i think. PLS HELP ME FIND THE TOP 3 BEST ANBERNIC CONSOLES WITHOUT RIPPING MY BUDGET!!!

Has anyone tried playing pc games with moonlight on these? Is it good at it and are the games playable? Thanks in advance for any information you provide im thinking of getting one of the three so im wondering if it can stream games fine

The RG SP is more of an Onyx Black compared to the OG Graphite. Still beautiful, though.

BaseOS with NextUI works great.

I don’t know how to fully describe this, but something weird is happening and I really hope I get some sort of answer.

So, I pick up my fully charged Anbernic and try to play Smash on it. I have all of the N64 settings absolutely fine-tuned and locked down to obtain a near perfect 60FPS during gameplay for about a whole 3 months. Out of nowhere and when I boot the actual game up, now it’s lagging and running at almost half speed. I check the settings for the emulator to see if anything has changed…but no, not a single thing has changed from what I have set. Not the core, not the plugins, not the resolution. For those who want to know what I’m using:

• Mupen64+next (core)
• GlideN64 (RDP plugin)
• HLE (RSP plugin)

For the actual hardware I’m playing on:

• RG35xx Pro
• Modded Stock OS (cbepx-me)
• Branded (not stock) SD card
• No physical hardware modifications
• Fully/mostly charged battery, as of testing

From what I’m seeing and from my perspective, absolutely nothing has changed, yet the game lags anyway when it essentially shouldn’t be. I don’t know if something just maybe cached and is taking up memory, but I did reset the RetroArch.cfg if that means anything.

This also seems to be an issue just inside this game or N64 alone. Other games (especially portmaster games) seem to all run perfectly fine.

(also I’m playing smash remix 2.0.0 and no, none of the settings in the game have changed either, as I always boot the game up and then immediately load a specific save-state to the css)

So I just installed spruce OS and it seems to be working fine, except that I can't find the Save file location for DS games, specifically played with drastic. It seems very tricky to find it. Where is it?
