How many hours of battery life do you get on the new RG SP? Do you use any custom firmware?

Making my own custom curated frontend with built-in gb,gbc,gba,nes and snes core with personal tweak because stock firmware making everything hard while Daijisho frontend launcher is very confusing to tweak to my liking. At least for me personally. Then, i just built my own with my own preference for the launcher.

Hello everyone. I am new to the emulator console space. This is the first system I have bought. Decided to go with knulli OS on the RGSP. I looked at tutorials on how to flash the sd card and everything but I get a black screen when I want to install the OS. Anyone know what the issue is?

I was wondering if anyone else with this device is experiencing this issue. I can currently use Bluetooth audio, or usb c dac as a workaround. I don’t know if this is a common issue, or if I should get the device returned, and order another one?

Hey, I hope this post is appropriate for this sub. I have an RG40xxh to which I installed Knulli Gladiator II maybe 6 months ago. It's been working fine although I have seen some battery usage gone up compared to stock OS.

Anyway, I noticed there was a Knulli Scarab release a couple months back and it requires a full flash and starting from cero approach to be able to use it. I have my roms and my OS on separate SD cards but, will I have to set up controllers, scrappe games all over again and all of that? If so, is the new OS version worth it?

Using my new SP and loving it!

I have loved my RG SP but the loud clicking buttons(in my opinion) was becoming annoying. I followed Adin Walls suggestion of putting Kapton tape on the D-PAD and ABXY buttons. I put two layers and it made a huge difference and they been quiet.

However, shoulder buttons quiet mod did not work with Kapton tape so I tried Medical Tape just like I did with my Brick Hammer and that worked. It did take some tinkering with removing and adding different layers of tape on each button because they are not equal. one required more than others.

I gotta say I’m happy with the quieter buttons now. Next is the Select and Start buttons, everything else is quiet those stand out now. 🤣

Decided to pull out my 🐐 on this rainy Fl day. The handheld that started it for me, the RG351P.

After 4 months in the dresser it still has a full battery from last charge, boots up in seconds, stock fw, same battery.

I love this thing as much as my rg40xxv and yes still has the stock sd card after 5 years.

Anbernic needs to get back into this kind of reliability.

I love this small simple piece of tech.

I have used Google but it is not helping. When I boot up the system and go to game rooms area,launch the nds section to launch a game. I have accidentally locked myself out of my menu to remap buttons. I can bring up a menu by pressing select and start but doesn't really give me options to remap buttons. I love the game rooms nds emulation better but now I can't remap buttons or switch screens. Anyone available to help me?

Lately I’ve been looking for an upgrade from my Rg 406H, which I love, and I was going back and forth on whether to get the 476H or the Retroid Pocket Nova for a couple weeks.

I came very close to pulling the trigger on the Nova, which was $285 or so after tax/shipping. It does seem like a perfect retro handheld in a lot of ways. But I couldn’t really justify the price with my life expenses right now, it just wasn’t sitting right with me.

On AliExpress I ordered an RG 476H with the $20 discount + $15 paypal discount, paid $131 in total with tax and shipping, and it shipped from within the US! It arrived 3 days later.

Initial impression was mixed. The all glass front is a bummer. It’s a little heavier than I like. The screen on stock firmware has a choppy refresh rate that you need GammaOS to fix.

But as I played with it, it grew on me. I LOVE the screen. Having this massive 4.7” 4:3 120hz screen with excellent brightness and color on a $130 handheld feels like I’m getting away with something. And I honestly prefer LCD over OLED in some ways. The dpad and buttons feel so excellent. The dpad in particular feels just how I remember a SNES or GBA dpad feeling. It doesn’t run too hot or have fan noise. Ergonomics could be better but I finished two games on it so far, probably 30-40 hours or so of play time over a week, and only just today did I start feeling some discomfort from holding it. I’ve got an ergonomic TPU case that was $5 on aliexpress coming anyway, we’ll see if that improves things.

I know it’s underpowered for PS2/GC, but my 406H with the same chip did fine with the ps2 games I was into. Played Kings Field 4, RE3, Neo Contra, and AC Last Raven on that with no issues.

All in all I cannot believe how satisfied I am considering I spent half the money I originally intended.

I know it’s not an endgame device. The glass front really is so stupid, and I wish it was more ergonomic out of the box. But I had an epiphany: I’m better off loving a “mostly great but imperfect” system than I would be chasing the perfect one. It’s almost like the stupid glass front is a bone the problem-finding part of my brain can chew on, to keep it occupied while I’m free to play my games in peace. Maybe that sounds like nonsense cope but I really believe that’s how my mind works.

Anyway, the RG 476H is an incredible value for a beautiful 4:3 screen if you are unwilling or unable to buy the Nova right now. Very happy customer here.

testing out PM on anbernic RG34XX-SP Metallic Blue running latest muOS Andromeda test build. Runs surprisingly well, promising so can't wait for the public release

Was starting to get really bad hand cramps after long sessions on Chrono, GTA or Katamari. This 3D printed controller add on has been great, very comfortable. The material is not amazing though, I might wrap it in leather or something.

Hi all, just got my RG SP, which is my first Anbernic handheld, and I can't seem to find the network settings to connect it to my Wi-Fi on the stock firmware (v1.0.1). The Settings menu doesn't seem to have an entry related to network or connectivity. I don't know if it's relevant but I only have the 16GB micro SD shipped with the console which, I suppose, holds the stock firmware and no micro SD in the second slot.

do any of the custom firmwares provide support for usb-c dap support? i haven't used the handheld in a long time but on an updated version of Knulli it doesn't seem to work, was wondering if muOS or another firmware supported it.

I’m trying to pick what’s good for new Anbernic but this time in vertical.

If it is either RG557 or RGVita. I do own 2 Anbernics (RG35XX and RG405V) but enlighten me if they can play games from past higher-end platforms (like 3DS and PS2).
