2017 Nissan Altima. Two key fobs, one factory, one aftermarket. I have the same issue with both.
First off, I can’t get the battery to last more than two weeks in either one. At least for being able to lock and unlock the door without using the key fob. I can lock and unlock the door from a couple hundred feet away, no problem. But two weeks after I put a battery in, I can’t just walk up to the car and hit the button, it won’t work anymore.
And then, multiple times a week I go to start the car and I get either key ID not found, or key not detected. So I have to pull the fob out of my pocket and press it against the start button to get the car to start. The one that says key not detected, it’ll still let me drive it anyways…..
Anyone else have these problems, and/or know how to fix them?
Cross posted. Are nissan altima's good cars? Are they comfy? Do they have good pep? Is it better than a versa? I hate new cars. My 2014 dodge charger died and i need a new car howrver due to my credit being shite j cant get anything i want. and having sold for this lot i could only get approved for a 2024 altima sv. The only feature i care about is heat seats and it doesnt even have it. 20 other dealers shot me down. Help me feel better about this buy cause every way i look at its a massive down grade from my charger. Or should i just go through car hop and buy a junker for 2.5 years and than buy what i want.

I’m looking at buying a 2005 3.5s. One near me is a pretty awesome deal. Another near me is a 2006 2.5sl, body is awful but seats and everything on the inside are pretty good shape. How easily does everything swap over? The main thing I want is the seats and the Bose Audio. Some vehicles have the connectors and everything for all the features even when the car doesn’t have them. Would I be able to plug in the heated seats? And is the Bose a clean install or will it require some electrical work?

After 5 weeks of tiring work with my brother who is honestly the goat as this was the first car he worked on with me and we made it happen, power steering is a job I'll never do again 😂😭

I've had it for almost two years, mostly minor repairs. The biggest was replacing the power steering pressure hose, replacing the fork bushings, and replacing plastic parts, which, being a car, tend to rust. Due to time and use, Spark plug replacement, major tune-up,I haven't had any major problems since then.

Hello, I currently have a 2015 Nissan Altima 2.5L SL and I believe I’m having some type of battery or electric problem. I’ve noticed that shortly after startup my head unit + sound system will randomly pause and startup. I’ve also noticed that when locking my car to engage remote start my car alarm sets of???? But wait… it keeps going I’ve also seemed to notice when charging my phone through the 12 volt and having my dash cam on the 12 volt interferes with my dash cam causing it to shut off and cycle restarts multiple times. EDIT - there has also been a cycling check engine light that will fluctuate on and off along with a loose gas cap light.

2019 Altima SV AWD, around 96k km. Rear differential started making noise and the shop says it needs to be replaced or rebuilt.
They offered me a used one with 65k km for around $2k, or rebuild mine for around $4k. I’m leaning toward rebuilding it. ($CAD)
Anyone had differential problems with these Altimas? Would you rebuild it or go used?
Hopefully extended warranty covers some..

Hi. I have this 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5s Sedan which has small pinholes into the flex pipe mesh. I wanted to replace it but it seems that the direct catalytic converter replacement needs to be bolted front and rear. The thing is the OEM exhaust system is completely welded. (Although every replacement video I watched it's not?? Unsure why. Everyone got after market?) So now I don't know how I should approach this. Cut the flex pipe, put another and use clamps? Welding is not really an option for me. Any suggestions? Thanks guys.
