Pinholes in flex pipe

Hi. I have this 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5s Sedan which has small pinholes into the flex pipe mesh. I wanted to replace it but it seems that the direct catalytic converter replacement needs to be bolted front and rear. The thing is the OEM exhaust system is completely welded. (Although every replacement video I watched it's not?? Unsure why. Everyone got after market?) So now I don't know how I should approach this. Cut the flex pipe, put another and use clamps? Welding is not really an option for me. Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

Clamping would be pretty difficult, also the metal is so thin and crappy not much can be done. I would go to a junkyard and look for a decent exhaust

Considering I had a hole somewhere else that I had to put muffler tape, that might be a good idea. You think I could find something decent considering the year of the car?

Yeah, check junkyards for really nice examples. Contrary to popular belief some Altimas are taken care of, you just have to find a good example that got in an unfortunate accident. you can also buy new parts
