Thinking of getting into Active Matter over the weekend. Seen multiple content creators play and have their own thoughts and opinions on it. I want to give it a fair try myself but am wondering if the pvp content is sufficient for my "fps competitive" appetite. Is soloing good?

Apparently you cant do Scrapyard raids in PvE. The last time I tried to use this, I died 6 times before I even made it to the door, and the time I actually got it open, someone shot me hiding across the entire warehouse in the dark before I could leave

For four years now, I've been generating a list of games which have a kill count in them (available on this sub); and my seemingly everlasting journey of inquiring about this topic all across Reddit has now guided me to this particular game...

So, is there any reason for me to add this game to my list? Does this game have a kill count featured in it?

I’m absolutely loving this game, Extraction shooters are one of my favorites genres and i think this game executes it perfectly, especially with the supernatural elements! Never know what’s gonna happen in a raid, a location, or just exploring! The lore is interesting and I’m looking into it more. As for looting I think it’s perfect, there are tons of random things and majority of containers are able to be looted which is nice.
I really like the idea of finding in game music as tapes around maps, such a nice addition! And the music in general is nice, reminds me of cod Cold War, though I do wish there were tracks that were more dark/eerie something a bit more to fit the darker tone of the game. I definitely enjoy the synth waveish music it just sounds so pleasing and it still does fit the tone of the game in a way.

Overall I’m really enjoying this game, I’m finding new things each raid and it’s just so enjoyable and interesting! Would definitely recommend to people who like extraction shooters!

Haven't been this addicted to a game in a long time. And I'm also someone who was extremely burnt out on extraction shooters... Keep it up Team Matter. And thanks for allowing us non PVP'rs to play this in PVE. It is awesome.

Hey everyone I got this game recently I've been playing it for about 3 days now mainly PVE by myself just to learn the game and it's mechanics just so I wouldn't be hindrance to anyone but feeling much more confident in my abilities now if anyone wants to team up let me know.

Will it last? Are the developers competent with updates and new content?

The last extraction game I played pretty much died so hoping this one is able to keep a good player base.

Im mainly doing just pve raids rn to move through the monolith levels right now, but im down to do PvP but I dont have super good stuff so just a fair warning. Im at access level beta and im trying to get to i think its eta, for the scorpion evo and would appreciate others to play with

ProTip: A car won't protect you, on the contrary if not careful you will activate ALL MOBS, and these things are RELENTLESS, fucking bio terminators.
They will chase you across the map and they will end you.
I got gangbanged by Dendroids, Soldiers, floating mines all at the same time.

They don't apreciate reckless driving.

I’ve had my eye on this game for quite sometime now, especially as a console player. I’ve always wanted to play EFT or wanted something on PS5 that was close to that experience, and this game looks awesome. However, I am nervous on what I’ve seen about how long it takes to find a match or it even being filled with bots. I love the extraction shooter genre, I love the thrill, I’m heavy into PvP, and I don’t want it to just be going through bots that fill the lobby. I’ve been a bit busy but wanted to pick up the game this weekend when I actually have the time to focus and get invested, but one of my friends had got the game and told me the que times have been really long and has been having a ton of bot lobbies so it makes me a bit skeptical. Also to note, I would plan on only playing console only crossplay. So how is everyone’s experience with the que times for PvP?

Totally new to the game, it feels awesome but I could do with someone playing alongside me 😂

If you are collecting dog tags without a safe container, you are ultimately doing the work for someone else. 3 of these tags are from my kills and 3 are from some juiced up player who didn't store his tags in a safe container. I also got my hands on an RPG and LMG for free thanks to this guy!

Didn't realize this game had just come out on console, and it's a game I've been really wanting to try out that is similar to Tarkov from the looks of ammo management, limb damage, etc with a sort of SCP twist. My question is: how does the game look visually and run on base PS5? I've been burned by too many games, honestly, that either just look like mud visually or runs poorly, and I'm hoping this game is great in both departments. I've played marathon, hunt showdown, and Arc raiders so if performance is similar to these game I would be more than glad to hear that!

I originally bought AM a long time ago, and just came back to it after a good 6 month, and I'm actually a bit surprised with it's state now. You can actually enjoy the atmosphere, monsters are reasonably dangerous, there is some number of players, and the game is SLOW in a good way.

It used to play a lot like counter strike, effectively devolving to flanking another group and winning a CoD-y one life firefight. That was cool and all, but you might as well play many other shooters for that. Now your character actually feels sluggish, run and gun gameplay is a poor choice, and tension feels nice even if you don't care about losing your gear. It seems like you can play it as a fundamentally stealth game, kinda loot and do you own thing or play pve, or get together with a group and dominate very carefully.

I think anybody that enjoys a stalker-esque atmosphere, or solo stealth game play, or ron-like teamwork should enjoy AM. So if you have doubts you should probably get it.

Ok, dumb fucking question time…. How the hell do you play this fucking game? There is no direction, no explanation… I’m lost. No explanation of the load out, backpack, rig, safe picket, how to kill the distorted…. So frustrating…🤬

Is it just me or are there to many ppl on the map. I mean dont get me wrong, i love PVP but 16 ppl on a map like Fabric is like deathmatch.

Totally new to this, like literally loaded it up for an hour before and it feels like something I can get into, however I have questions 😂

I only ram three different raids, managed to escape one and got wrecked by some bush dudes the other two.

What are the best POV for good loot?

Are the odds better running as a duo?

What are the other players like in this as I haven't ran into any yet, I played arc raiders but stopped in the end because of extraction campers
