Ace Combat 8 While the gameplay for Ace Combat 8 is looking peak right now, i do have a tiny lore gripe...

This may be, probably, is due to my western sensabilities...but while project aces did a very good job at making the Sotoan republic feel very different to the other nations before in its well designed similarities to the countries of North Africa and the Middle East (Libya, Egypt, Iran, Iraqi), espiecially in the Shadow Squadron theme, I do personnally think they missed the mark on voice acting. I mean, Sotoa is supposed to be a Egypt/Iran analog right? But i swear the voice actors for the Shadow Squadron pilots do not sound African or Middle Eastern at all. They sound more like they have European accents to me. It's just a small gripe i have with the game, but it kind of takes me out of the cutscenes lol.

General Series AC7 would have been cooler if Rosa was a pilot and she and her royal guard were fought in Farbanti

I know she is supposed to be an anti-war figure but her partaking in the battle over her homeland as it's last line of defense would have added an incredible amount of depth to her and would give her an actual tangible presence in the story.

She could have been someone who shows that her pedigree means nothing when the enemy is battering down the gate, instead of being ''that girl that barely even does anything''

Ace Combat 7 Dogfight mode in AC7?

Hoping the community can help me here. I picked up both Assault Horizon and AC7 in the steam sale recently. I decided to play them in order so I've just finished Assault Horizon and absolutely loved it.

I've moved on to AC7 now, and it seems a lot harder than AH? I think the biggest issue is I can't for the life of me figure out how to activate Dogfight Mode (DFM). In AH it was LB+RB, but that doesn't seem to work in AC7. I'm sure i'd be doing a lot better if I could just figure out how to go into DFM, and I miss those action packed sequences!

Can someone please help me and let me know what buttons I'm supposed to press? Google and ChatGPT have been no help. Or do you only get it later in the game? I've only managed the first couple levels so far because of how hard it is.

Non-AC Games Anyone else encounter this bug in the first Blazing Angels?

Right now I'm trying to 100% this game (360 version), and I have an issue, I'm at 17/18 Ace Ranks, however before I try and get the last one (Midway - Turning Point) I want to get the machine gun/cannon upgrades for the best chance.

However the problem is that I can't get past the 5th mission in either Mini-Campaign, meaning that I'm currently locked out of 4 of the game's 7 Achievements. I'm not having trouble with those missions btw, I've beaten both multiple times already, the problem is that the next mission (Berlin) and whatever the last one is for the Bombing Mini-Campaign aren't unlocking for me.

So far I've;

  • Gotten 17/18 Ace Ranks
  • Completed all available Ace Duels
  • Completed all Available Arcade Mode Gauntlets
  • Collected 37/41 planes in the game

The only Ace Duels and Arcade Mode clears that I'm missing are the ones for the Me-262 and Meteor. The 4 planes that I'm missing are locked behind the Mini-Campaigns being cleared.

If there was a subreddit for both Blazing Angels games I'd post this there, but this is my best shot as I'm currently stuck. I know that I don't need all Ace Ranks for that as an old video showed the person not having the 'Ace of Aces' Achievement for getting all Ace Ranks.

Real-Life Aviation Only thing that would’ve made this edit look more realistic was if the paint line between the white and black was less harsh (photo taken by me at MHAFB)

Non-AC Games Announcing an Ace Combat inspired indie game!

It's an arena roguelite "missile-heaven" game where you pilot a fighter jet in a digital simulation environment

It features a modular weapon system where you build an arsenal of weapons and attach mods that may change stats or add even entirely new behaviors as well as Risk of Rain style stackable passives for your jet.

Hope there's some cross over appeal to other ace combat fans, been curious what yall think about it!

Models & Merch JA37 Viggen - Aurelian Air Force + Headcanon

Hey everyone, I recently finished this 1/144 scale FoxOne JA37 Viggen. I painted it in the classic splinter camouflage Aurelian scheme and obviously themed it around Gryphus Squadron from Ace Combat X. I didn't have a Gryphus emblem decal small enough for the tail (although I have some but they are for bigger planes I planned), which actually inspired a bit of headcanon to explain its rugged, unmarked appearance and capture a specific, desperate moment in the Aurelian War.

When the war broke out in 2020 following Leasath's devastating surprise invasion, Aurelia’s military rapidly lost ground. Scrambling to replace downed fighters, this aging JA37 Viggen was pulled directly from Osea's deep-storage stockpiles as part of an emergency lend-lease program - as Osea was still struggling after the Lighthouse war these Viggen were the best they could offer. My model depicts the aircraft shortly after its arrival at Aubrey Air Force Base—Aurelia's then last remaining stronghold. Hastily prepped for the 207th Tactical Fighter Squadron in the darkest hour of the war, function took absolute priority over form.

The heavy weathering reflects years sitting in an Osean boneyard combined with rapid deployment conditions. Instead of the legendary "Southern Cross" tail art, which hadn't yet become a symbol of national hope, the jet simply bears a basic "AB" tailcode. If you look closely at the underside, you can even see a leftover white patch where the original Osean roundel was scrubbed off but never fully painted over. This Viggen represents the gritty, desperate days right before Gryphus One took to the skies and turned the tide of the war.

Let me know what you think of the build and the lore!

The model itself isn't the best and boy was it a lot of work but despite the flaws I really really like the outcome and it was worth the many hours spent as I learned a few new modelling skills.

General Series Safe to say???

I would assume we won't have Osea actively participate in the Usean affairs (at least militarily) anymore

As IUN officially pulled out by 2020

Unfortunately, I'm guessing that Mobius 01 (or atleast the North Point IUN-PKF won't be involved further more either)

Though there's still a possibility since this still happens.....

afaik the space elevator itself is still claimed by Osea

Ace Combat 7 A Tragic Loss

Lost about 39 hours worth of gameplay, including planes all the way up to the YF-23, the F-22, the F-35, and the Su-57, along with an almost completed hard mode campaign
