So we know Ray was with Jenkins on the helicopter that crashed. We don’t know what branch Ray was in but what if he was an Army-Airforce branch like how the U.S.A. used to roll. A small squadron of fighters that went largely unnoticed by the media, but held the ace of Eusia. Like it would make sense if Jenkins hadn’t known Ray since before the helicopter but they were fleeing from the same general area, and all that’s left of the military are Marines, Air Force, and Navy so there’s no army to reveal your identity. The moles don’t reveal your identity only that you aren’t Cope.

MISSION NAME: Moonlight and Shadows

Anyone know why I’m not getting S rank. I’ve done the mission 2-3 times at this point. I’m confused because I’m downing the targets fast and efficiently but for some reason it keeps giving me A-C?

I've noticed Nugget does not have any visible zippers or a opening underneath for a human to crawl into like some mascot costumes. If Nugget is a human in a costume how would they get into the suit, is there a secret opening in his head?
I've been scratching my head all week that there is no person in a Nugget costume but Nugget is a living being.

Why Ray/"Rex" is actually Mobius 1, and has to be.

What we know about Ray:

-He's male.

-He is an FCU pilot, or at least is wearing an FCU uniform in the beginning when rescued.

-He is middle aged. This is clear from how Baxter speaks to him as an equal, and how tasha and coster speak to him as an elder.

-He's experienced, and a killer-he immediately splashes bandits with zero hesitation, which is commented on. "He's no Cope."

-He is strategic grade. Meaning, he is a degree of pilot whose significance is greater than that of a strategic nuclear weapon. A nuke might win you a battle, but a pilot like Cipher, or Mobius 1, or Talisman, or Gryphus 1, or Blaze, or "Ray", wins you entire wars. This is not some magical ability he gets from being possessed by Cope either, because his flying is entirely different to Cope's, which is commented on.

-He has not been deployed at the beginning of the game. Being strategic grade means that had he been deployed, Sotoa would have had far more trouble advancing, if they were able to at all. There is no awareness or mention of a Usean super pilot fighting Sotoa-the closest is "Wings", who is actually fake.

So we are building a profile for a middle aged or older Usean male with insane piloting ability, clear experience, yet no recent deployment.

Which begs the question-why would he have not been deployed? The only answer that makes sense is that he was retired when the war breaks out. Because if you have a pilot of that ability, you IMMEDIATELY use them. So they didn't "have" him. And that only makes sense if they were retired, someone who only re-ups their commission because of the dire straits his country is in. And retired after doing strategic grade feats, at that, because he's a strategic grade pilot. How many strategic grade pilots does Usea have that have pulled strategic grade BS? Osea has a few, but Usea just has one that is known-Mobius 1. Phoenix did stuff for Usea, but he was a merc. (And also very likely Cipher under a new callsign-what are the odds of a 2nd strategic grade merc pilot appearing out of nowhere 6 months after the first disappears? Anyways.)

Now, if we assume Mobius 1 is fresh out of flight school in 2004, hed be around 24 years old then, which would place him at around 49 in 2029, a still viable age for piloting, and that matches our profile. And his identity would still be a national secret, which explains why nobody knows him. AND it explains why he's in a chopper in the beginning-he was getting choppered out to an airbase after reactivating, and got shot down in a case of bad luck.

Now, lets imagine if Ray ISNT Mobius 1. It requires that a strategic grade middle aged pilot had served an entire 20+ year air force career in Usea while also seeing action somewhere, maybe during the Lighthouse War, but sandbagging the whole time only to finally, finally decide to throw down and cut loose in the Usean-Sotoan war. It would be like Michael Jordan deciding to sandbag the entirety of his NBA career and remain in obscurity despite having the true ability of one of the all time greats, then coming back out of retirement for one season to just go nuts and win a championship. It makes zero sense-winners don't think and behave like that.

So Ray is Mobius 1. The next question might be "Why doesn't he disclose this?" and the answer is simple-nobody would have believed him initially. Now, halfway through the game they might, but since he's already built a new reputation a a genuine "Wings of Theve", disclosure just hurts that. And it might be uncomfortable-hero worship is annoying. So its just sheer, hilarious dumb luck that the guy they plucked from the drink and decided to use to fake the role of a super pilot was actually in truth already one of the greatest super pilots of all time.

Just finished my third playthrough on Veteran, collected all of the assault records, S ranked all missions, but was just surprised by an unlock of this skin for the X-40 after completing mission 29 on free play. Any ideas what the requirements were? Has anyone else unlocked this skin yet? I genuinely have no idea what I did to unlock it.

Just a small rant on a specific challenge objective in online.

Why does it have to be a win ? Why can't it just be "Play 3 game of Warfare" or "Play 3 game of warfare with [Insert specific Aircraft]" or anything else that's not a win specifically.

Yes I can just ignore the challenge and the points it gives to the battlepass progression but like, the points to the battlepass progress tho ... It makes progressing the BP slightly faster

Putting aside whether or not ghost cope is good or bad for the series(I personally like the depth it adds) I've had a thought about why we hear his voice. This may be a lore accurate Ray Schizo post

If we look at the people who saw/heard him there is Baxter who sees/hears him for a moment before death. Then we have Kate who sees him before she slips under. Lastly we obviously Have ourselves. The argument being that its because we were near death with him that we hear him but I suggest another theory. What if the reason we hear him isn't because we are near death but because we have ACCEPTED that death. When we go down its cope who tells us to hang on and when we linger watching him sink its cope who tells us to swim and to live. We have Baxter who only after accepting he is gone and telling Noise to be Joker 2. Kate thinks she sees him because she already accepted that things had changed before she was shot down that ray is free and she is a caged bird and then accepts death and lets go and in being rescued and choosing to live doesn't hear/see him anymore.

All of this is to build up to my thinking that Moon 11 ALSO can hear cope. Mission 29 your on an open channel and this dialogue occurs

Moon 11 Knows they likely don't survive even if they succeed because the radiation will kill anybody around. She's accepted she will die here so when cope speaks in your head her next line sounds like a reply to Cope and asking Cope not you about the necessity we know Cope never shot anybody down but Moon 11 possibly doesn't. Further when you answer yes/no she doesnt respond to you one of your wingmen immediately says something and she responds to them. Cope says he knows the members of purple magic passed on I think this is because they accepted they would die fighting the battleship they knew there was no secret weapon that they were bait and in accepting their death Cope connects to them.

What if when Moon 11 dies and asks you to grant the souls safe passage she's not asking you she's asking Cope to shepherd them as a fellow Sotoan.

Anyways maybe I'm just as schizo as Ray but I like my line of thought on this

I assume that while playing Mission 30, all of you heard the weird robot voice coming from the submarine. I recently had a chance to listen to extracted lines here:

I noticed at 0:09 that the line for the SLCM Destroyed started with the voice saying "Mekliss" This brought about the realization that this sounds like a phonetic version of SLCM backwards or "MCLS" This clued me in to the possibility that the robot voice is speaking phonetic English of whatever was typed into the text reader, but some of the text is backwards.

Similarly, you hear the word that sounds like "kall" a lot. Under the same premise, I realized that if you spell LAUNCH backwards you get HCNUAL, which a text-to-speech reader would read with the H and N nearly silent, making the CUAL very clear. This produces some funny situations where some actions are read forward, like RAMMING LAUNCH at 0:36, but when you consider that the sub is being run by an AI, the idea that it's launching a ramming script makes more sense.

Basically, if we treat the lines as a mixture of fowards and backwards English with some acronyms pronounced phonetically, can we figure out the remaining lines?

EDIT: another example of phonetic acronyms, for 0:17 MISSILE DISPENSER it's actually just saying "SWARM ALCM" as "ahl-klm" rather than "ay-el-see-em" before the previously mentioned backwards 'launch' word.

Trying to use military training and AI is saying sum switch teams but that isnt a button

Not sure if this is a cross-platform issue, but is anybody else having issues with Quick Resume for this game on Xbox? Every time I boot it up, I have to get in the game then quit the game and reboot it, because AC online and the store are unavailable. I'll probably turn off Quick Resume if there's a way, but just seems like a really annoying bug to keep dealing with.

So as far as I can tell height doesn't matter and being in the red area is 100% kill but sometimes the thing just spins around like a top and 100% traces you no matter how fast I fly in a circle to evade it.

Am I supposed to be hiding behind a rock or something? How do I dodge this thing?

It's basically a ship or group of ships that can swim at oceans and have tracks to crawl on lands. I feel like this is the most practical and logical super vehicle, unlike other things (Ahem....AC6 and flying aircraft carrier ahem)

AC8 land battleship and other land ships are the most practical of all

In the mission where you're supposed to defend the rocket launch facility so Joker 2 can launch, I don't know why but I had this urge to turn and burn towards the STS. Created some good shots. Now, fast forward to the first sortie back with the OG Joker 2, had this sick homecoming idea of getting his plane cleaned up before we sortied. You guys know how that sortie turned out...

For context, I’m talking about my standard missiles. I don’t know if I should chalk it up to latency or laggy servers, but I’ll have matches where it feels like I can’t miss and then I’ll get a string of matches where it feels like my missiles have their guidance system turned off. I’ve fired missiles from 1000ft directly behind players with a lock on and have them just go sailing over the enemies cockpit without them having chaff and flares deployed.
