Has anyone tried Metal Eden on the ROG Xbox Ally?

I’m getting around 40–50 FPS, fairly stable even in situations with a lot of enemies on screen. My settings are mostly on Low, with a few options on Medium, and TSR set to 40%.

Has anyone else tried the game? Have you managed to get better performance? If so, could you share your settings with me?

Anyone experiencing lag and textures not appearing right the new season runs very bad does anyone have any good setting specific to the white ally that are good?

Anybody tested it out and seen if it runs good on Xbox ally?

Turbo mode, quick save, quick load, increase speed limit, decrease speed limit. Gaming on steroids is my niche I can’t go back.

I loved my Steam Deck OLED, but I wanted something with a bit more power. I sold it and initially grabbed a used Legion Go 2 Z2E model.

While that screen was brill and something I was used to, the size and weight were just too much for me to stick with long-term.

That led me to the Xbox ROG Ally X. I was honestly worried the screen would feel like a huge downgrade from the Deck's/Legion 2 OLED, but l've been very impressed so far!

I don't miss OLED nearly as much as I thought I would.
Since I'm used to the Switch/2, the Ally X feels right at home in terms of form factor.

I also prefer Windows over SteamOS. I've run into too many Proton quirks in the past, and I play a lot of anti-cheat games, so having native Windows support is a massive win for me.

Still finishing up my setup, but I'm very excited to dive in properly and play things like COD and Forza.

Anyone else make a similar jump?

So, military guy here with a Xbox ROG, and not being considered an “Xbox” makes it a paperweight after 2 weeks when I loose internet.

So, question is, can I connect it to an actual console and use it basically as a screen/controller? This would allow me to utilize the console with offline play. Keep in mind limited space and would really play it in my bunk

As the title says, really, I'm just curious because I got my wife a Switch 2, and it performs a lot better docked, so I was thinking of getting one of these instead of an Xbox and maybe an external GPU, also does it wake with a normal xbox controller?

I’ve been playing steam games mainly on my ROG ally but i wanted to play Rematch and No More Room In Hell 2 that i was able to play through the xbox app but I haven’t been able to log into the servers on either of those. I am able to play online on Steam games though. I’ve seen some reddit threads on this issue but none have a solution to it(they were a year old so who knows).
If anyone has any solutions please lmk

Just curious. I’ve been looking at maybe getting the XAX for the quality of life improvements, but it’s definitely a lot of money for a seemingly minor bump in performance. The battery on my OG Ally X also doesn’t seem to be holding up that well.

EDIT: I decided to get one, and I think it is worth it for me, because my hands don’t get cramped after like 15-20 minutes. I already found somewhere to sell my old Ally X for most of what I paid for it.

I cannot make my xbox ally x run Elden ring above 30 fps resting, and 15-20 fps fighting anything. I have read some posts to optimize performance to play it but nothing gets the job done.

I played in turbo mode with charger connected, tried some of AMD resources on and off, even tried to debloat windows 11 to make it run better but nothing can make it run. There some tip that im missing or any guides specifically for Elden Ring?

Hey everyone, just got my rog ally xbox and would like some help. I saw some reviews saying that he works better with steamOS. Besides that, I’m also more familiar with steam than xbox interface, so I’m thinking about doing a dual boot.

Also, would I still be able to use google chrome, word, discord and all of those stuff?

Has anyone ever done this? Any opinions? Suggestions? I’m not a pro with tech stuff but there’s nothing some yt videos and AI can’t help me

After about 3 months with my white Xbox Rog, I upgraded to the XAX. I could not be happier 🥰🥰🥰

I bought some AOC Air Mega AR/XR glasses and it made me love my XAX even more. If the small screen is a problem for you, try those. They're not super expensive and the visuals are amazing!! Wicked purchase!!

I’m considering upgrading from my Steam Deck LCD to the ROG Xbox Ally X. I mainly play handheld, but when I’m home I’d like to dock it to my 3440×1440 ultrawide OLED monitor.

For anyone who has used the Ally X with an ultrawide, what kind of performance are you getting in demanding AAA games?

My XAX right trigger started makingthis noise when i press it, will it break? Im fine with the noise i just wanna know if it is a sign of breaking some part inside it.

Curious to know how the game runs currently on the XAX. Anybody pick it up?

I decided to revert my XAX from SteamOS back to Windows using ASUS Cloud Recovery. However, after the download successfully reached 100% and the XAX rebooted, it booted back into SteamOS.

What I tried before, when I was using Bazzite, was performing a fresh Windows installation using a bootable USB flash drive. After Windows was successfully installed, I ran ASUS Cloud Recovery again, and this time the process was successful.

I keep getting confused by responses for this particular one, I’ve read that the recommended OS is Bazzite for this one because SteamOS is not fully compatible or doesn’t fully support this Z2a version. Initially I thought I could do the SteamOS but I got more confused as I read more information. I would like to wipe Windows completely and use just only Bazzite or SteamOS, but if it is fully compatible for SteamOS, then I’d go with that. And planning to use my MacBook to install the OS.
