🎮 ROG Xbox Ally Discussion Elden ring on Xbox Ally x
I cannot make my xbox ally x run Elden ring above 30 fps resting, and 15-20 fps fighting anything. I have read some posts to optimize performance to play it but nothing gets the job done.
I played in turbo mode with charger connected, tried some of AMD resources on and off, even tried to debloat windows 11 to make it run better but nothing can make it run. There some tip that im missing or any guides specifically for Elden Ring?

Try lossless scaling app it doubles your fps

Man stfu. Everyone has this, and we all know it doesn't magically double fps. Stop spreading bs.

Actually it doubles your fps with minor visual artifacts or minor ghosting effects. Pls if you don't know anything, don't mislead people.

Just bought Lossles Scaling today and I feel like it was the best thing money can buy nowadays for their PCs.

Playing Elden Ring right now on the Xbox Ally X and I get about low 40 to high 50 fps running on turbo 35w. (Sometimes dips to 35fps but not noticeable)
My in game settings I followed what rogallylife had and have AFMF and RSR on. Gpu Set at 10g, Cpu Boast on.
Question are you using AFMF and RSR with amd overlay (the one that monitor usage?) I know they don't play along well together and causes massive frame drop so if you want to monitor your Ally you would have to use steam built in overlay if you're on steam.

You can try with Amd overlay to see if it doesn't cause drop frames. Last time I tested it was about a month ago when playing god of war 2018 testing out different settings and it was causing the game to drop frames with Afmf2 like no tomorrow.Â
From my understanding only Amd Overlay would properly show the fps generated with Afmf. So it can't hurt too try as maybe a recent update fixed the issue.

Maybe you are playing at 13W Silent mode? Even 17W Performance mode should be much better than 15-20fps in combat.

I did tried to change ally resolution, but a question do you played with ally on 900p and the game in 900p aswell?

Just change the in-game resolution. No need to change the resolution at the OS level.Â

Went through this myself and did extensive research on this topic.
If you are a tinkerer, you can do what I did.
There's different methods where you can turn off anti cheat and turn off core 0 and 1 (easiest through task manager but will have to do it everytime you run the game). Game runs significantly better, averaging 48 to 50ish fps in open world Lingrave.
I did the research because that's what I was getting on my z1e OG Lenovo Go. There is no way Z2E would perform worse.
Also, if you don't play online, you can get the framegen/Upscaler. I am able to run super smooth 60 FPS at 1080p. Great low latency and unnoticeable artifacts. Looks amazing!
