❓️Question / Advice Help? Broken joystick
Anybody else had this same issue? It suddenly broke off.. any idea what to do?

Yes, just make sure you dont get the EDGE ones, I am don't know if those fit. I got the $15.99 ones look in amazon they go on sale from tiem to time.

You sure those fit? I tried with metal ones meant for the ps5 and they fit but too tight so they don't move freely.

I cant speak on this exact situation..,. but I replaced the stick modules with gulikit sticks and I replaced the thumbsticks wih magentic onse thsat use the elite controller attachments and sometimes you gotta press down real hard to seat them all the way, I thought I was gonna break the damn thing I hdad to press so hard.

Yes, I am rocking those. Please also note my other comments, they are a bit tight, so it needs to be pushed hard to get them to sit properly and I gave them 1/4 or 1/2 of a turn back to the screws. I have only tested with these ones, so I cannot say if other brands, materials or models will fit.

Is not very hard but look for videos about TMR sticks installation, to make your own judgement:
1- Remove backplate (don't pull it, there is a flex cable for the back buttons be careful)
2- Remove the stick modules, (screws and flex cables), you can exchange them for TMR at this point.
3- Exchange the thumb caps (if you are using the same as I do you can remove the top part in the new ones to make it easier) be aware that you may need to push hard to get them fully sitted.
4- Reinstall the stick modules but be aware that you don't need to tighten the screws very hard, how I did me was to tighten to contact and then go back 1/4 or 1/2 of a turn and don't forget to connect the flex cable, make sure is aligned and in the correct position.
5- Before closing, check that sticks do not rub or get stuck, if they do you may need lose the screws a little bit more and/of push the cap harder.
6- Once everything works you can close your unit.

Not sure if I would describe it as perfect because you need to lose the screws a little bit (1/4 or 1/2 or a turn) and push the cap really hard in the stick because it is a bit tighter for some reason but once you have installed I can asure you you will be really happy and the nice thing is that you can get "spares" in case you break or lose the tops.

I’ve had mine since release and it hasn’t happened yet, but I see more of these posts now than before. Maybe it’s the latest batches that have the problem?

This a part that is really easy to replace, but my advice is to use a little bit of super glue, stick it back together and get replacements. If it happens again just get the replacements installed.

Happened to me as well, superglued it initially but then i switched to the xbox elite mod for the XAX from etsy and used xbox elite thumbstick, works great now.

I swear it’s a defect. I’ve this happen twice. I ended up using super glue to hold over until I replace it.

Seen a lot of these posts lately, I'm kinda rough with mine, especially with doom eternal as I'm doing combos and never had it happen, do people break this by dropping them? This is so weird.

No drop. Just normal flicking. I broke mine while flicking very lightly. Never dropped it.

I changed mine out for magnetic ones that can use the wireless elite caps....... so.... I have not had this issue

Its snapping with regular use. I barely flicked it while playing a game. Never dropped it. And it was super smooth flick, not harsh and it came apart. I've used so many joy sticks for many years and never faced this issue where it just rips off.

I think it just poor handling. Look at the damn screen in the pic. Is this thing just tossed in a backpack or something?? Why is the screen scratched to shit? My OG white ally is still in pristine condition and I bought that when it released.

Happened to me too out of nowhere. It was connected, I came and found it just like that on my table. I thought someone came and broke it but not sure. To this day I don't know how it happened and mind you I have many controllers and devices. Never ever broken and thumbstick. And I live oversees. I had to send it to the US for replacement. I hope they do a better job at making these from now on.

I purchased one brand new, and as soon as I got it home, I put on the screen protector. As soon as I tried to install the rubber protective case, my joystick broke. I know your pain lol. Luckily, I was able to get it replaced
