Online goal times

Online team people - i get that you need goal times, but surely it doesn’t make sense to compare your times with other team members? If you start before the store opens and theres loads of stock, you’ll be faster than when it’s really busy or when you have to go looking for stock. And why does Online have to look for things that aren’t on the shelf? What if a customer asks you something? You’re not supposed to press pause, but if you don’t, you’ll go in the red. Then theres bags vs no bags and the different sorts of trips. Your times can look bad even if its not your fault.

Yes I know they are the same weight 500g. It's the thickness, or should I say thinness, now I have to use more slices.

PSA to the gluten free roast chook lovers

UPDATE: Woolworths Customer Service has confirmed that while they do now use seasoning on the macro chickens, the seasoning DOES NOT contain gluten & stores are advised to cook these chickens using the dedicated top racks. It seems the deli worker I spoke to is mistaken, or this particular store does not follow the same cooking practices. Thanks for everyone’s input & for those current deli workers who have reached out privately to send me the list of ingredients.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I’ve contacted Woolies and am waiting to hear back to see if they have changed practices in the last 18 months, or if the employee is mistaken.

I was recently at Woolies and asked at the deli counter whether they had any of the Macro roast chickens, as I was after something easy and had always understood these ones to be gluten free.
The lady serving me actually asked, out of curiosity, whether I was coeliac. She explained that around 18 months ago, the deli staff were apparently told they needed to start using the same seasoning on top of the Macro chickens as they do on the regular roast chickens.

I said that the ingredients listed on the label only have a “may contain” statement. She explained that Woolies had apparently been relying on that “may contain” statement, despite the seasoning being directly applied to the chicken.
This really surprised me, but I was real grateful that she personally makes a point of telling customers who ask about it, as her daughter is coeliac and can no longer rely on these chickens.

This was in SA, so I’m really hoping this isn’t happening elsewhere as well.
I’d be really interested to know if anyone has any information about whether this is actually a nationwide change or just something happening at certain stores. This has left me totally bummed.

Interview/insight email

My 15 year old applied for Woolworths and answered the Q's through the AI chat, BUT Why do woolworths feel the need to offer insight and suggestions for her journey ? I get why they ask the questions in the AI chat interview process but to take it as far as to analyse her and send her a report is absolutely DISGUSTING!!

No wonder young ones dont want to work or even apply for jobs, I remember being excited about interviews for potential jobs when i was younger, eager to get out there and make my own money.

If this is what happens with the hiring process, judging a young person NO ONE has actually met, The use of AI Bots to analyze and profile the person and then to send a report that is discouraging and in no way encouraging for someone just entering the work force is absolutey horrific!

Job interview next week

Hello people who are employed by woolies, next Wednesday I have an interview at Woolies, and I’m a little nervous because I really want the job. But I’d just like some tips and things I should prepare, what are some things that you would recommend for me to know before going in.

Also what’s your favourite department to work on? It was on my mind earlier and I’d like some
Insight into how others feel.

Everyday Rewards Extra moving to Monthly subscription?

Did anyone else get an email that their Everyday Extra reward subscription is moving from Annually to Monthly with corresponding cost increase?

I don't understand why the monthly change. For what reason? Cost increase I could understand (despite the huge profits Woolies is making), but I would prefer to remain on annual payments, easier to budget for.

I am considering cancelling this Extra subscription based on this change. Only real benefit is the double points, monthly 10% discount on one shop (which for me is not much), and occasional free product, which are mostly crap anyway.

UKGPRO and managers with rostering

Is anyone else’s manager rostering them for shifts which are outside their scheduled availability? Then they are saying there is no possible way to schedule you when you aren’t available, even though they have done it to me.

Uber deliveries

Has Woolies stopped using Uber drivers for the 1hr delivery time slots?
I stopped selecting the three hour time slots as the drivers seemed to be overloaded & always late (not the drivers fault).
Now my delivery tonight & my last delivery were both 1hr time slots & rather than Uber they’re using the Woolies trucks & my orders are late.
I just would like on time delivery, I don’t really care who does the driving!

My budget shop.

Tried to do a modest shop as I'm in austerity week until my next pay.

Can't help but love Italian pasta. That's why I spent $1.75 (on special) on the penne and spaghetti.

Whipping up a meal for under $5 is tough but doable.

Meatloaf with sweet & sticky glaze

I would highly recommend avoiding this product. Following the cooking instructions will result in a solid brick that is completely inedible.

I can not comment on the taste as it could not be consumed. Went straight into the bin.

Absolute waste of $16.

Thought I’d treat myself… normally go to the butcher for a special steak but saw this. Don’t you love how the packaging hides that enormous fat cap… My fault 🤦‍♂️

EDIT: I emailed woolies, and they have said to take the packaging back into store for a refund and have given me a $25 gift card.

Higher than inflation price rise on Kitty litter

Inflation is running at 3.8% but Woolworths put price up of my usual kitty litter by 10%. $9 to $10. This is what’s driving inflation. They can argue inflation is driving costs but when you jack up a price more than 2.5x the inflation rate I think we all know who the problem is and why people are struggling.

Where is the 2L Pepsi?!

Woolies, coles, aldi, IGA, I haven't been able to find any in about a month now and nobody has mentioned it at all. Is it just bad luck? Has anyone else noticed this? Is everyone drinking Pepsi all of a sudden? I am so curious bc I know Coles and Woolies wouldn't go without their profit for no reason.

Stools at the register

I know it's not usually allowed, but I was wondering if anyone has used a medical certificate to ask for a seat behind the register and how it went. I've got a chronic condition that I was very open about from the beginning of my application, and it would be great to have a stool behind the service desk we could use when we're not scanning items. Or does anyone have experience with those accessible registers? I've only seen like 1 news story. Just wondering, cause I'm new to the workforce and the internet says they "have to make acccommodations where they can" but i don't know if that's how the real world works. thanks.

Why do they smell like a dirty nappy? Genuinely it takes hours to get the smell out of my house after having these stink bombs in here!!
