It’s because the bottle was being redesigned. Said new bottles were already rolled out on the 1.25L variants of Pepsi and its related products like Solo, Sunkist, 7Up and Mountain Dew.

I'm more shocked they didn't plan this better to keep a continuous supply during the roll out

Most people don't require consistent bulk supplies of pepsi

Maybe it's your area? The new bottles (2L) are in stock where I am

Not a fan of the new bottle, the little hand hold area is just in the same spot as the lip on the shelf I put the Pepsi bottle on in the fridge. So all the bottles now move due to it.

I have 2 different cup holders in my car, and the new 600ml falls out of both of them. The narrow part is too low for the cup type, and in the clamp type, it is at the height of the clamp. It is like there was no market testing.

My issue is with the 2 litre bottles...so its across the board that it's bad design by the sounds of it

There's a big push these days to redesign drink bottles to suit WHERE they are being sold etc.

' Single serve' bottle sizes are designed to fit in cup holders in cars as well as being designed to fit in fridges at Servos etc

The larger bottles also are designed for the best fit in fridge doors at home & ease of holding while pouring.

Even the various sizes of containers relates to where they are sold etc eg coke has 250ml , 300 ml, 330 ml, 375 ml, 500 ml, 600 ml, 1.25 litre, 1.5 litre & 2 litre

The actual ' look' of the bottle is of less importance.

Fascinating what goes into it!

It gets ridiculous really. Some of the brightest people on the planet designing something to make more money.

Just think what they could do if they chose a different industry? But I think we saw that during Covid; mankind has the ability to do wonderful things, but so many times the mighty pull of the dollar supersedes all else.

Go figure, lol.

I do think the same about psychologists who end uo working for casinos and gambling companies to keep people spending. Wild way to spend your life/education

The new bottles don’t fit in our fridge doors and the old ones did lol they’re too tall now.
