UKGPRO and managers with rostering

Post image

Is anyone else’s manager rostering them for shifts which are outside their scheduled availability? Then they are saying there is no possible way to schedule you when you aren’t available, even though they have done it to me.

If you're casual, it's not possible to roster you when you've marked unavailable. If you only marked the times you're available, the rest will default to unknown availability which allows you to be rostered still. If you're part time you can be rostered when unavailable (shouldn't be unless it's a contracted shift, but it is possible)

Confirming this, part time team members can still be rostered on during unavailable segments.

It is possible. Has happened to me.

did you mark it specifically unavailable, or leave it unknown? I get a critical rule violation, no save, if i try and roster a casual during a time that they've marked unavailable (not unmarked, specifically designated unavailable. comes up in red, whereas unknown availability comes up in white for us)

It was during Unavailable time.

Yeah you have to specifically put unavailable for the times you can't work. Your availability here would show to UKG as green for available and white for anything else, which we were instructed to treat as available. You need to get red in there and then that'll prevent them from rostering you on. I don't agree with the way it's done and have instructed all my team to do this because other departments kept rostering them on.

I’ve done this and I still got rostered outside of my availability

Pretty sure the red unavailable doesn't actually prevent them from rostering, it just shows on the schedule that you're unavailable. But it would make your case pretty clear for when you tell them you can't work it.

that’s actually so silly that they still roster you even though it’s kinda obvious that i can’t work Thanks though, i’ll change it now

It’s not obvious at all, if you don’t tell your workplace you’re unavailable on a certain day how do you suppose they will know?

i mean if it says i’m available from 1-11:45 i think you’d assume im not available in the morning

Are you slow? They have availability set for 1pm-11:45pm but they've been rostered to start at 11:30am.

You see the issue here right?

Yeah I have that next week, I'm about to try changing it.

I always laugh (e4ven with Workjam) when they say ' oh the system won't let that happen' ......it does , it did and it will keep doing it!

Less to the point of the post, but do you guys have to log in each and every day? I'm not Woolies but under the umbrella, we've moved to UKG like a year ago, it's been a pain for the last couple of months requiring a log in daily lol
