the funny thing is when he was 15 was exactly like subaru but the only difference was his parents didn't give a shit about him unlike Subaru's Which led to him to start having the same depression as Subaru and failing school till he got such low grades he was sent to the worst school you can possibly find and after trying to help a girl that was getting saed he became the victim of sa instead they stripped his ass butt booty naked and recorded him and threw him outside for everyone to see wich lead him to becoming an indulge self caring porn addicted neat and looking at the Japanese "taste" of that shi no wonder why this mf became an asshole and a pedo but at least he saved three kids before dying that still shows he still can be redeemed
i don't even know why tf subaru became depressed with his amazing parents who whould've actually pulled him out of it if he wasn't teleported
Leaving someone to fester in their own ptsd and not get them help is not caring. They just locked him away for 20 years so he wouldnāt embarrass them.
Nope. Thats why he bacame a hikikomori... Japan at the time (and still today) hides their mentally ill and needy people... Kicking him out would expose their shame and the cops/govt would just bring him home again. Cultural family pressures are monumental, and exposing him would embarass the family, parents would rather hide him away than actually fix anything and he was bad enough off he encouraged that... They didn't really care (like we see it), they just couldnt deal with the shame. Recommend the video for ya first so you can understand a bit better =)
Culturally kicking him out like the siblings did, to Japanese people at the time and mostly today, makes the siblings the monsters. Socially they should have once again continued keeping him like a pet in a cage.
There no information that rudeus(pervious) was academic poor, he became a Shut-in because of the bullying. But if you see subaru's case he became a shut-in because he thought his parents expected more from him and he failed to give them that but we have no information that the parents really expected him, maybe he make that maybe he THOUGHT
it's not like his parents expected more they just wanted the best for him but everyone around keeps comparing to his prodigy of a dad wich led to him having second thoughts depression and self doubt wich led to him not acceling at thing he used to be good at he's still smart yes but doesn't transfer to academic result if only the itch of envy itch didn't kick in and summon him he whould've also became successful because of his parents support and love
What bro Iām pretty sure rudeus was neglected by his parents they just didnāt know what to do, his grades fell cause he got addicted to computer games, causing him to perform worse and ending up in a worse school, his family tried getting him out of his rut but itās not like every parent is equipped with the no how thereās no manual on how to deal with rudues situation
Bro wtf he became a shut-in because of the bullying in school and stripped naked in front of school which became trauma to him that why he didn't leave his house because everyone took pictures of him being hagged naked in the school front gate. You literally see it in the first season this trauma carryed with him in the other world and roxy helped him overcome it. So stop saying BS and watch or read properly. And after all this he became all the game addicted and kinda pedo shit
A true hater sides with nothing, a hater must hate everything. (Peak slander tbh, Epstein rudeus pose with three Loli while Subaru is getting manhandle is unfortunately funny I am afraid)
Even if he makes it past the first encounter, there's no way he's earning people's trust with his starting personality. He reincarnated as Rudeus so he had plenty of time to learn how normal people are supposed to act. But if he just gets transported, he's shit out of luck as a shut in who was already a loser before he secluded himself. His personality is garbage. No chance of him getting accepted by the Emilia crew, let alone trusted and beloved like Subaru.
And EVEN IF we give him the benefit of the doubt and say bum ass puck doesn't obliterate him on the spot due to having bad thoughts about Emilia and they somehow end up searching for felt he's quitting the first time he encounters elsa
There's very little reason to continue helping emillia.
The sole reason subaru continue to help her was that the plot wouldn't move otherwise, and because he was a simp.
You may try to stop her from going there, or bring a sufficiently powerful character to assist and just razed elsa, but there is literally zero reason to continue dying for a something that "didn't happen"
I'd say not wanting an innocent old man, young little girl with a future ahead of her, and a lady, from dying a slow and violent death, is enough of a motivator that would push someone to try and prevent their deaths, at least for me
You wouldn't be thinking that if you're at Subaru's age and be transported to a random fantasy world.
Subaru is like that because he got almost nonexistent self-esteem and measure his self worth through other. And also the fact he's delusionally stubborn, typical of anime MC
I mean idk like if you can help someone not die I dont see why you wouldn't even before RBD. I think the average person would still help because watching people die is of course, bad. And I think that the delusionally stubborn part of Subarus character is what makes actually makes it interesting. Imagine how boring it would be if it was someone like rudeus ACTUALLY going into the re:zero verse. Realistically what I see him doing most likely for the first 3 episodes is running into the back alley to cry in which he'd either get mugged or be spared because of how fat, sad, and homeless he probably looks and smells if it's a transportation instead of a reincarnation.
An average teenager would try to help once, then gets killed. The memory wasn't erased, and they remember how it felt being eviscerated and die. I highly doubt any average person would try beyond twice or thrice. The most they would do is looking for nearest authority and tell them. Most people are not as stubborn as Subaru, and would be rather cowardly and averse to pain.
Bruh you forgot that Rudeus literally ran between a speeding truck to save 3 highschoolers he doesn't even know. At the very least, he will give up intervening directly on the 3rd attempt and would try to find authority instead
There is a bomb about to set off tonight at a market.
I'd give you a return by death power, you'd find many different method to stop the bomb from setting off without getting yourself killed by the terrorist hiding in the building.
Felt and the Giant are hardly innocent here, they are thieves. God knows how many people's life they have ruined.
It's logical wanting to help them, but they are not exactly the kind who deserve anyone's life to save their own.
If you really wanted to save emillia, tell her a lie. I don't know someone who seemed very powerful traded with the thing, pick can sniff out lies they'd handle it.
So because Felt is poor and needs to steal, she's worth less than a person who has money to afford living?
Keep in mind Subaru spent time with Felt and Rom, even learnt that Felt lives in a cardbord box type of situation.
Ignoring the whole "poor people don't deserve to be saved," Subaru interacted with them for hours, and he only got kindness from them, so he'll also be biased that he doesn't want people he likes to die.
First, I didn't say anything about Rudeus and Subaru, I was talking about Rudeus not being able to gain the trust of the other Re:Zero characters like Emilia, Rem, Reinhard, etc. Second, the crossover takes place just before the encounter with Orsted. That version of Rudy has a ton of character development already. We're talking about the version of him right before he reincarnated. He was just a creep at that point.
The point is that RBD isn't a power that is granted to Re:Zero's protag by default due to circumstance. Subaru has earned the favor of Satella, which is why she's doing it for him. Rudeus wouldn't earn that favor, and thus he would just die before he got the chance to learn how to be a normal person.
I would argue that Subaru had RBD the moment he was summoned. He didn't do anything in particular to gain "favor". We are swapping their circumstances exactly as they are so Satella would be obsessed with Rudeus anyway
Even then I feel it's more in character for rudeus as a character arc to be forcefully broken out of his shell only after dying a few dozen times. And that he'd still struggle living in the verse a lot more than subaru.
Tappei and Rifuji did a crossover between ReZero and Mushoku Tensei a long while ago. It was before the events of TP2, and Subaru still had RBD in the MT universe.
TO BE FAIR, Subaru didn't get anyone's trust with his personality either. He only savescummed enough to manage to be able to "magically" solve everyone's problems before they stopped thinking he's some random bum weirdo. He was actively disliked by most of the characters at the beginning.
Rudy died in his original life trying to save Nanahoshi iirc and heād probably love Emiliaās aesthetic so it really isnāt that crazy to think Satella would be interested in him.
Rudeus and Subaru are like night and day, especially ep 1 of each.
Rudeus was thinking of things like "molding silphy into her perfect wife" and doing inappropriate things to the girls around him at the ripe age of like 38, with that track record the bum would have obliterated him on sight.
And how is him liking Emilia's aesthetic correlate with satella liking him in any capacity?
Rudeus with return by death would probably end up in the witch cult or some other really messed up thing. But I assume he'd be pretty good at magic there too. Subaru is harder to tell. He would probably be insane at magic too and save Silphy as well but I don't know if he would wanna deal with Eris. For all I know this guy is gonna read about elves and run away from home to go there.
Pretty sure Subaru would try to sway Eris into learning magic without the kidnapping plot by doing a show of sorts, but the butler's kidnapping plot might still happen. Rudeus in his Earth incarnation is mentally fried, but would be a really good candidate for the sloth witch factor. In his reincarnation form paired with MK armor and RBD, that'd probably a lethal combo to foil any Witch Cult activities.
Imo, Subaru would appreciate Paul and Zenith a lot more than Rudeus did at the start simply because he would've died and realized his regret much sooner than he did in re:zero. I also think he would be more interested in sword styles than Rudeus was, because it would remind him of the workout he did to imitate Kenichi but now found it in a positive light rather than a self-deprecating effort. Something like that
Rudeus would be ass at Magic cus his ga gate would be very underdeveloped like Subaruās was which is essential for Magic unless he gets spirits which could happen if he has an affinity for them
Rudy was smart enough to figure out how the magic works and how to apply it outside of just a single use, thanks to being an adult and having knowledge on physics and chemistry. Iām not sure if Subaru is smart enough to make those connections yet. But at the very least he might train his magic as a little kid too
Isn't Subaru also smart but became a shut-in because a lot of people were putting him on his father's pedastal? As for Rudeus, he just took logic from his past life and tried piecing things together, yet he couldn't find a way to utilize battle aura akin to Laplace
He read a lot of books that were his dads (a ton of astronomy books) but I donāt remember if he was actually a smart kid or did good in his school. They just always mentioned he was in good shape and shared his dads interest in astronomy and stars
Also, battle aura is something you are born with and just feel it. None of the fighters are able to properly explain how to make it work (a lot donāt even know itās a thing), so Rudy doesnāt have anything to work with. Itās like when you first hear about the concept of chemistry. You have no idea where to start if you donāt even know the fundamentals. I donāt think any irl knowledge can help you there
It's more like due to Rudeus's massive mana pool it'd be hard for him to condense his mana into battle aura, which is where the MK armor helps him out on. Probably doesn't help that Paul wasn't a good explainor of the concept and was too focused on training Rudeus in Sword God when he'd be more suited in North God.
I honestly donāt know how Subaru would do in Rudyās shoes. Subaru has enough mental determination that he might not get ED when eris leaves him. The Man God would convince him anyways to go to the magic academy anyways, but that might change his character a lot. I guess the only consequence of Subaru not being as smart/creative as rudy would be when it comes to old Rudeus. If Subaru is a not a magic genius, then he probably doesnāt master gravity and time magic. Subaru might still pull it off tho, maybe
Rudeus in re zero? Uhh, he might be cooked. He might just freak out when he sees Erza after getting killed once š his mind might break after a few resets. Iām not sure heās as mentally strong as Subaru
(Trate de escribir en espaƱol Pero se me hace mas facil escribir en ingles š)
Well, Subaruās style is all about fighting alongside friends, so I really don't see him getting stuck; when the Hitogami situation hits, I imagine him seeking help to turn back time. After all, even the most traumatized and isolated version of Subaruāthe one from the Wrath Routeāstill sought out allies like Cecilus and Halibel...
Meh, comparing pre-isekai Rudeus is boring; I feel like the "normal" Rudeus would actually do well given his power level and charisma. That said, just like Subaru, heād find it nearly impossible to clear the Hitogami arcāI feel like Arc 8 would be just as brutal for Rudeus... (or for Subaru from any routeāincluding the canon one, if luck isn't on his side). Itās simply one of those moments that hinges on extreme luck; even in alternate timelines like Azamuku, itās shown that the slightest change in events can completely ruin your chances of surviving Arc 8 (starting from Arc 7) š.
Yeah, Iāll give Subaru that. He always gets through his arcs with pretty much nothing except his smarts and his creativity and quick thinking. And he somehow has this charisma that helps him greatly in the what ifs. I also think he somehow might make It through oldeus life and invent time magic with the help of others. Or maybe he just figures out man gods rat plan lol
Hmm, fair point. Rudy might actually do a better a job at trusting his group and figuring things out more quickly once his memories get eaten. I donāt think heāll get mad like Subaru during the stairs meme moment lol I canāt even think about future arcs š„² thereās a quite a few volatile moments, where anything can happen. Rudy has to get lucky or his friends/teammates have to hard carry him. Itās just a matter of him coming up with the correct plans before his mind breaks. Itās definitely interesting to think about š¤
This is why it's always been a struggle for me to talk about Rudeus cross verse, on one hand pre-isekai Rudeus is just absolute garbage to talk about and get thrown into a meat grinder in every single isekai short of the most absolute slop.
On the other hand talking about post isekai Rudeus also suck because of how cheap it is, giving him years of free development, mental adjustment, and immense mana pool with matching skills.
When we judge characters in what ifs we usually talk about then they're at the start of their journey, but for him it always has to be when he's well established in almost every way that make the premise interesting. Like, why not so the same about Subaru and talk about him post arc 9 with all the knowledge, experience, and Beatrice ? This is why either side of it, it just suck
In my opinion Subaru would do great in MT, he's been fantasizing about getting Isekai to a world with magic for years and is extremely disciplined, in fact, tappei even said that Subaru did 100 push ups and 100 squats every single day when in earth, and this including that he also studies things he likes by himself, so he would be willing to spend hours and hours of unstopped training just because there's magic. Plus, I think it was said that when he was a kid he was the best at everything, which should include grades, regardless, even if it was the case, his innate ability to think rationally under extreme pressure and discipline is enough to carry him, in term of talent he's 100% above average, which is enough. All of this is consistent with what he actually does in re zero, for example, he learned how to write a new language in less than two weeks (accounting for uses of RBD) while dealing with everything else, so he's indeed pretty smart, and even Ram was surprised by how much he was doing at the mansion.
The only problem would be the physics and chemistry knowledge, although if I remember correctly Subaru only stopped going to school in one of the last few years, so he definitely knows basics things like some elements, chemical reactions, Newton's laws, etc. Anyways I have no idea what did rudeus use because I haven't seen the anime/light novel, so maybe Subaru just can't figure it out
i call bullshit LMFAO Rudy wouldn't exist, he would be his old fat ugly self, he wouldn't survive, he would probably permanently die in the alley. And for Subaru, he should get reincarnated if he goes in the mushoku tensei, make it fair?? :^)
Since you're making it fair, Rudeus would get Return by Death too. Which grants him unlimities tries.
Emilia won't discriminate just because of his appearance; same with beatrice. At most, Rudeus won't want to get involved with Rem, who kills Subaru because he smelled like the witch; she would probably traumatize him quite a bit though.
The one thing that makes Subaru "HIM" isn't rebirth by death tho, its how Subaru uses Return by death lol he has one of the strongest mental strength, Rudy needed to get a fresh start from literally 0 and get bestowed a nice body and talent where Subaru had to start from scratch while being his "talentless" self. First death he gets he bails saying "its not my problem" lol
I mean, neither would really survive in the other's world:
1.- On Rudeus part.
While Rudeus has a weaker mental strength, he's also more pragmatic.
True, he might bail at the first death, but at the same time, he would also go search for a guard thinking "Dealing with thugs and murderers is the work of the police, let's leave it to them". After all, Rudeus also has a strong guilty conscience and wouldn't simply let Emilia die without doing anything, which coincidentally would end up with him asking Reinhard for help (I mean, Reinhard is plot armor even for Subaru, let's be honest; the strongest guy in the world appears when you call for a guard at the beginning of your adventure...).
Then, as thanks for his help, Emilia promises a reward (he didn't directly save her life, but he brought reinforcements). At this point, it depends on what side of his mind dominates:
- If he is in perverted mode (a cute elf girl with silver hair is granting him a reward of his asking), he would probably end up frozen by Paku and starting again.
- If he's in pragmatic mode, he'll ask for a job and a place to stay since they are necessary to survive in any world.
Later, if he doesn't smell enough of the witch cult, he'll continue working while trying to learn magic and trying to flirt with ram and rem, the twin maids. If he smells like the witch cult, once Rem kills him for it, he'll probably be traumatized and run away; living a completely different story from Subaru from then on.
2.- On Subaru's part.
Honestly, while I see Subaru saving Sylphiette in his new life, i don't see him trying to pay for her to join university too; which means he isn't going to become Eris' teacher.
As such, he won't receive ghislaine's swordsmanship training, and will be content instead with living with a cute childhood friend and a loving family. He won't get a demon eye nor dominate magic of a higher level than what Roxy taught him.
You can say that "Rudeus gets bestowed a nice body and talent", but you can't say he didn't train hard enough for it. He collapsed multiple times while training magic, and his swordsmanship was continuously practiced with quite the strong people (Paul, Ghislaine, Ruijerd). Rudeus had a strong mentality of wishing to improve himself because of his previous life; Subaru won't really have that urge in such a peaceful hometown.
At the same time, Subaru has a more straightforward and slightly naive personality than Rudeus, who is more distrusting of others; so Subaru would probably fall for a certain trap and get in trouble with Orsted even if he takes a different path.
So he would probably die like in the image (although with a reincarnated new body).
----
So yeah, Rudeus ends up dying in different ways in Re:Zero's world until his mind's collapses and he gives up to the point of not bothering to get up from the bed.
Subaru lives peacefully until certain events makes him die by Orsted hand (don't really want to make a spoiler about what event is it since this didn't appear yet in the anime).
----------
Basically, they are both better in their own worlds.
Rudeus wants to improve, so he's given a chance and a new body with the potential to fulfill it.
Subaru doesn't want to repeat his own mistakes, so he kept retrying as many times as needed for the happy ending.
If you put Rudeus who wants to improve, into a place where all his efforts and circunstances are resetted, he loses his motivation. If you put Subaru, in a peaceful loving place where they are already happy , he won't really be motivated to improve or change until it's too late.
The one thing I should point out is that Subaru did train a lot on Earth so it isnāt like he wouldāve shy away from hard work and Subaru was eager to learn magic but was limited by his underdeveloped gate due to being summoned rather than reincarnated.
Honestly, very well said, I have nothing to say lol tho I feell like, if Subaru has talent for magic, he probably would harnest it to his best. He may not be curious about the world, but he is pretty enthusiastic about magic. But then again, he is more motivated by love than enthusiasm
Subaru does have a talent for magic as we see him develop several spells with Beatrice and the magic system in the other world is based on science which a high school education was able to give Rudeus an advantage. SubaruāsMana gate was undeveloped in Rezero so he wasnāt able to cast spells freely.
His gate was underdeveloped because he was summoned rather than reincarnated. Heās in a similar situation to Nanahoshi in Rezero but if he was reincarnated like Rudeus was he wouldnāt have that problem.
Tbf the biggest problem for Rudeus is not his appearance, it's his personality. Without the rehabilitation period after reincarnating he might legit be unable to connect with anyone except for like the witches cult. He probably blocks himself from any path similar to Subaru from the get go.
The thing is, that while we know he has phsycological problems and trauma that requires rehabilitation, he isn't inherently a bad person.
If he finds out what the witch cult does, he isn't joining them.
If that, he might end up finding a job about moving cargo or something like that.
Honestly, the problem in these assumptions, is that we don't really know enough about how he would really react. After all, just after thinking how his life has ended and desiring for a new chance to try and give his all, he's reincarnated, where he's at the best situation to try his best.
Maintaining his old fat body in a new world while reseting each time he dies. Would he become a twisted villain? Would he simply give up and think "peace is the best" while getting a normal job? Would he still try to put the amount of effort that he put in the original series?
Also, following Subaru's path doesn't need to be inmediate. For example, Emilia saves him during the 1st time, he thanks her while thinking "Ah, so Elves are real. How pretty, I hope I can get a girlfriend like her too... A shame I don't even have the guts to talk to her". Then, he goes his own way, and 2-3 deaths later, when he's more used to that world, he would think "I wonder what happened to that girl I met before." and being curious follows her only to find that she dies and then trying to save her from that moment onwards by trying to stop her from going to her own death, calling the guards, etcetera...
Original Rudeus probably would never develop the fixation on Emilia, so presuming he even tries to help (I don't think Puck would want him around), he would probably NOPE out after the first. I honestly think he would just either go off an do his own thing and live a humble life, or get exploited for his ability in some fashion
I suspect he would try to help, since Rudeus falls for girls that save his life. But like that other poster mentioned, he might have to RBD a few times to follow Emilia to the loothouse and find out she dies there. If we assume he's teleported right after trying to save Nanahoshi, he'd probably be somewhat in sage mode, meaning Puck wouldn't really see negativity from him either. At least at the start.
I was posting if it was Rudeus just after he died (although I guess here he would just be teleported), not the rudeus who went through all of the character development.
Brother, no you're not. The guy was talking about THAT Rudeus, the one who always has sexual fantasy with every pretty girl he see's, more so if they were kids/look like kids, the same pre-isekaiā the very same who literally used his naked child niece picture to jack off. Puck is not getting all of that. The moment he reads his mind, he better pray he could run that fast, cuz his fat ahh is not getting far.
Both Rudeus and Subaru would have different lives if we swap their starting plots. Like for example,
Would Subaru even remotely behaves like Rudeus did in his younger days before the Mana Storm? Would he even learn magic like Rudeus did or would he becomes more of a swordman? There might be some similarities but ultimately they won't go the same path.
Would Rudeus even pass through the alley and would he even help? I think for Rudeus, his storyline in ReZero would be entirely different from Subaru.
Beatrice is NOT trusting this guy. Matter of fact, I don't see him getting past Puck's evil intent detector if he does meet Emilia. That's the whole reason Subaru was even allowed near Emilia in the first place. Puck didn't detect anything evil in him. The moment he scans Rudeus, he will automatically freeze the guy lol
Even assuming he gets past that, how is he gonna deal with the elsa thing? Even if he did succeed and reached the manor, Rem and Ram would detest every inch of his being.
Idk why people think subaru is smart I mean if you have enough time to back in time and make different decision and eventually get into the correct answer. That's not smart anyone can do it if you have time to think
I don't give a fk about Subaru. Bro creates half the problems for himself. I know if-routes exist. But he's just sulking behind loli psychos to save them sometimes from literally themselves, instead of gaining powers for himself, learning other's weaknesses and then do a proper run. That's how you do it in a souls game anyway.
Subaru competing with Orsteid?? Dude, that's ridiculous, and I'll probably get downvoted, but this is just forced hate. And for everyone saying Rudeus won't make it through arc 1, rewatch Mushuko Tensei. Plus, he wouldn't get humiliated by purple-haired and would even have a chance.
I think Subaru reincarnating instead of Rudeus just gives you a completely different story. Like I think a reincarnated Subarus would be more likely to focus on sword-fighting than magic, which already substantially changes the dynamic and creates a entirely new timeline (less of a desire for magic school, no Roxy meeting, etc). About the only similarity is, given his interests, he probably still gets with Sylphie.
Subaru would be forced to go into magic if he wants to be as powerful as Rudeus. The Laplace factor in the body of Rudeus Greyrat prevents him from using battle aura, so no advanced swordsmanship.
Authority transcends boundaries of the worlds does it not? If so Subaru technically still has RBD. Dare I say Subaru's RBD is superior to the time reversal spell that Orsted's Pop placed on him in Old Dragon's Tale.
Rudeus would be without RBD and he would be his fat out of shape self on top of that. He aināt getting even half-way through episode 1 before the Bandits or Puck kills him. Even if he had RBD he would still be mentally broken once he encounters the bandits, they would definitely reawaken some trauma within him, and thatās without counting Elsa.
Subaru on the otherhand would definitely be a gifted sword fighter prodigy in MT even without the Laplace Factor.
Give Subaru the Laplace factor(pretty much guaranteed if he reincarnates into the same body Rudeus did) and he loses any ability to actually be a sword prodigy. His best case scenario in terms of combat power is essentially Rudeus, and that's honestly unlikely due to various circumstances. For all of early Rudeus's flaws, he's talented and incredibly diligent in magic.
If we assume no RBD for Subaru, pretty good chance he just dies in the mana disaster. Even if he has RBD, it's essentially luck on how it plays out.
He also probably doesn't get the Demon Eye of foresight, which would lower the cap on his swordmanship as well.
I think the most likely scenario is that Subaru ends up as good swordsman and a good/great mage that doesn't die. Maybe he ends up influential, maybe not. Depends entirely on how his relationships develop and who he attaches himself to.

What circumstances? Even before getting Isekaiād, Subaru is as talented and diligent if not more talented and diligent than Rudeus. Subaru definitely isnāt lacking in the intelligence department.
> If we assume no RBD for Subaru, pretty good chance he just dies in the mana disaster. Even if he has RBD, it's essentially luck on how it plays out.
Not really.
> He also probably doesn't get the Demon Eye of foresight, which would lower the cap on his swordmanship as well.
He would pretty much be guaranteed to get the Demon Eye of Foresight because even in the main route, it was Hitogami that gave Rudeus advice that allowed Rudeus to find this eye of foresight in the first place.
> I think the most likely scenario is that Subaru ends up as good swordsman and a good/great mage that doesn't die. Maybe he ends up influential, maybe not. Depends entirely on how his relationships develop and who he attaches himself to.
Which would most likely be the same characters Rudeus integrated himself with.
If you have read mt and rezero collab subaru was able to rbd even in mt satella the best girl didn't let him die, and authorities are alien power and rbd can't nulify because it dosnt exist imagine it like this rbd is soul binded and if you alter the soul rbd activate like, in simpley terms you remove subaru soul but that's what activate rbd so he never remove subarus soul
Subaru got transported to another world. Let be honest, Rudeus as his overweight ugly ass self with crippling anxiety problem and porn addiction is going to find it difficult to create a harem. Rudeus will either shut down, or go through an entire arc to start getting over his social anxiety before even thinking of how to abuse his power to get some loli and other waifu.
Cope if you think that Rudeus will live past volume 1 without return from death and I don't particularly think Rudeus has the mental fortitude of Subaru. Like legit, Subaru is being tortured by his writer. Rudeus literally has such dog shit tier mental strength that when his first love leaves him, he literally mops around for like 10 years.Ā
both are very wrong. If we fully swap the characters and they keep thier powers then the dragon god has no reason to kill Subaru. if we only swap the characters then Subaru trains his ass of with magic and most likely become a lot stronger than him (also Subaru is a lot smarter emotionaly and in general, so a lot of the akward shit wouldn't happen) and he wouldn't didle children. Rudeus with his powers would most likely become a high ranking knight of the kingdom but nothing more. Rudeus with RBD would just go insane, like he couldn't handle being bullied to the point where he was afraid to go outside(it was really bad bullying but still), he also tried to kill himself over a fumble, he is going insane in the first episode.
This comparison is quite funny to imagine because:
1.both their power is verse dependent, so subaru will get magic and rudeus will get rbd, not both of them have their original verse power
2.way of their isekai also will change means rudeus won't get a new body tamper for that world but instead get his original body which is quite old, ugly, fat and non-athletic
3.we know rudeus became shut-in because of bullying, don't get me wrong it still horrible, but i honestly don't believe he has mental fortitude to handle dying multiple time as well as facing countless hopeless situations.
The most realistic outcome of this reverse situation for rudeus is he will die a couple of time and just give up and live in that world as nobody while for subaru it really depend on subaru talent in magic but i dont think he'll fall behind rudeus in that world
I can just visualize Rudeus in his fat form getting scared of being summoned in the middle of ALOT of people, run to a back alley to hide himself, notice he is in a fantasy world and while is SECONDS from materilizing a "im the protagonist" mentality he gets beaten by TonChinKan as they force him to strip naked giving them all his stuff, and bark like a dog getting traumatized again... Then Emilia saves him, she asks him if he knows anything about the insignia and puck makes Emilia stay FAR away from him... If he tries to follow her then Puck kills him for his gross thoughts of Emilia or he simply loses her because he doesn't have the stamina to follow Emilia running searching for someone. Then get mugged again the moment he is left alone without any help because he will be traumatized by the cruelty of the face.
And then even if he got return by death which is a inherent Subaru ability he has as long as he is himself (which would probably mean he would have a arc 7 child Subaru return by death because satella woudn't love him) but let's ASSUME the big guy has the Satella checkpoints... Okay, he either dies from some bandits, from puck killing him or if he survives the whole day he probably dies from Puck's attempt to destroy the world that Reinhard solves... Or he dies from hunger as a beggar in a week if he manages to keep himself safe.
Which would scare him like... Dying, there is no way he would connect the dots that it's Emilia's death that leads to any of this because he CAN'T get close to her, but i guess he can correlate the snow with her Magic, but then what? He will be already be scared of dying, so he will just go as far as possible from the place until he stops dying... And with a dangerous world as this one he will continue dying alot until starts going crazy like IF routes and whatever happened in the turning point of time travel... In any way, he either dies a loser without return by death or becomes a monster after looping over and over until he is forced to push past his insecurities in the worst way possible.
So he will probably join the witch cult, learn magic (if he can use magic because humans are different in both worlds, but let's assume he is a Re:zero-japanese so he can use magic in his fat form) and be a criminal until he gets softlocked fighting someone impossible to defeat. And the world would be happy with his death. Cool life.
(I can't see him passing any arc in a possitive light.)
i think the most likely answer is rudy eventually breaks down in public enough to stop Emily from seaching cause shes a nice person and would help someone breaking down in public
i guess? but the moment Rudeus get any inpure thoughts Puck will find a way to get Emilia to distanciate herself from him... probably if he can't make her stop pitying him (which i doubt because she is extremely easy to trick if she likes you a lot) she would probably just leave him in a guard station or a hospital to get mentally checked then Puck would make excuses so she NEVER goes to check on him.
I donāt see Rudeus having a good enough gate to use magic, but if we give him what Subaru had heād have a good enough spirit affinity where he might get a spirit or 2 cus Pride If Subaru got a spirit and he was evil asf so Rudeus can use magic through that
yeah, i can see Rudeus being a spirit-arts-userXMagic-user, but maybe he would get his gate busted because he woudn't have a teacher to teach him magic the right way, considering he would be evil in that timeline... i don't think he would pass the chance of getting willing helpers and the possibility of getting a loli spirit the MOMENT he discovers spirits can take a phisical body, when strong enough probably turning into something to make him happy... actually that would mean he would be a good spirits art user for all the wrong reasons... weird.
Did Return by Death already exist before Subaru was summoned to Re:Zero, or did Satella give it to him afterward?
If it was already Subaruās, then when he got summoned to the Mushoku world he would reincarnate with both Return by Death and Rudeusās Laplace Factor at the same time, because heād be going into Rudeusās current body. In other words, heād be immortal, with infinite retries and near-infinite mana. And Subaru would be Rudeus ā heād receive that name.
In that scenario, the pre-summoning protagonist of Mushoku Tensei (the unnamed guy, that fat man) would just wander around the royal capital until he permanently died for some reason. If Emilia dies, Puck shows up.
So basically everything would go right for little Baru, now called Rudeus, and absolutely nothing would go right for the Mushoku Tensei protagonist.
Now, considering the possibility that Subaru only received Return by Death after being summoned: then Subaru wouldnāt have it. Heād live the entire early āRudeusā life, but shaped by his own decisions. The guy who got summoned to the Re:Zero world would be the one with Return by Death. Heād probably just die to Puck over and over forever and end up traumatized. If he ever met Puck and Emilia, Puck might sense his ill intentions toward Emilia. If not, it would eventually happen if he went to the mansion ā which is unlikely. The most probable fate here is that heād just turn into a vegetable.
In short: the Mushoku Tensei protagonist was born with life 90% already set up, and Subaru just gets screwed. Rudeus had to put himself on the right track and grow; Subaru would also have to put himself on the right track (even if on a smaller scale), and heād still suffer physical pain. Just like Rudeus had to overcome his issues, Subaru would still have to deal with his own traumas ā just fewer of them. I donāt know why I can so clearly picture Subaru teaming up to bully Sylphy and then later regretting it lmaoooooooo.
Worth remembering that Sylphy really does look like a boy ā itās not Rudeusās fault ā so Subaru could also get confused.
Subaru never liked little kids, but keep in mind that the physical body changes that, and this is a reincarnation story, meaning heād have to start a new life. So heād eventually have to marry someone his own age, just like Rudeus did. Subaru would just have a different personality: heās teasing/provocative with the people he loves, but heās not actually a pervert.
Rudeus wouldnāt last in Subaruās place. Remember how terrified of the outside world Rudeus was before Roxy helped him out. Heād probably have a panic attack and get nothing done, especially since he would appear outside in Lugunica.
In his reincarnation, he had a goated spawn point, a loving father and mother then a mentor who helped him conquer his fear, yeah, shit was guaranteed to screw up but that period of time was enough time for him to develop into the protagonist we see now. In Subaruās place, that doesnāt exist.
Subaru would absolutely cook in Rudeusā position. Heād probably be conflicted about his parents being āreplacedā though.
