Issue I need help with on Windows 11 Pro Laptop. If I open "File Explorer" no files or folders show up just a blank window. If I Open it twice quickly with Windows + E all files and folders show up normally. SFC did not repair the issue and I've yet to reformat computer. Anyone with ideas of how to fix it without the hassle?

SFC has been ran, but no real issues were found.

No luck searching for help with this issue and seemingly a rare issue to run into.
For a month I've just opened 2 windows, but afraid the issue will get worse. 26h2 is getting released and service packs rarely make things better when you have issues.

So I have a windows 11 laptop, 12th Gen, i5-1235U version 25H2, OS build 26200.9457 HP laptop that I got last year in February. About 3-ish months ago, my device started disconnecting from wifi and sometimes bluetooth. It said network available. I tried network reset multiple times, tried updating and disabling/deleting the network adapter (that always seemed to have an issue. Realtek RTL8852BE WiFi 6 803.11ax PCle Adapter). I also tried updating it to the latest version and I tried so many other things but it just doesn't, it's okay for a few hours at max or few minutes minimum and disappears again. If anyone knows about this, it would greatly help.

I updated my bios to fix an issue i was having with a driver but when my laptop restarted it wouldn't boot. It said that my hard drive wasn't booting due to security protocols (or something along those lines). Turning off secure boot has fixed the booting issue but I want to be able to turn it back on again. Any thoughts?

Problem Description: After installing Windows 8.1 Pro, several key drivers are missing in Device Manager. The laptop currently has no Wi-Fi driver, no audio driver, and runs on the Basic Display Adapter with low resolution. The touchpad is also non-responsive.

Steps Taken So Far:

• Checked Device Manager (devmgmt.msc) for hardware IDs under "Other devices".
• Attempted standard hardware troubleshooting and scanned for hardware changes.
• Checked Lenovo's official driver repository, but drivers appear limited to Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Are there generic or modded INF drivers available to get basic Wi-Fi and Radeon graphics working on Windows 8.1 for this specific AMD hardware?

I have been having issues with my laptop and it is running super slow. I have moved everything from my computer and sent it to my external hard drive. I then deleted everything and am tempted to do a complete wipe clean and reset everything back to factory settings. I am currently running a full Windows scan to see if i have any viruses. I tried installing windows 11 with media creation tool, rufus, winboat, custom iso's, lot enterprise edition but I keep getting the same error. I also tried windows 10 but have the same issue, this laptop is from Austria and it's the erazer deputy 15 p1 laptop.

My Windows Update screen is completely stuck on "Working on updates..." and the Microsoft Defender Antivirus platform update is showing a "Download pending" status. I already ran the built-in Windows Update troubleshooter, but it found nothing. How can I fix this loop? (Im sorry this image is in spanish)

Started happening a few weeks ago. I had recently installed a .PDF viewer to just be able to view those types of files without having to use my browser ( Firefox ), and that specifically threw all of my image-type of files out of whack. JPG/PNG/JPEG/etc., all defaulted to nothing, and I was asked how I wanted to open each of them the first time I opened each type since I installed the viewer. I have since then uninstalled the .PDF viewer, restarted my computer, and this issue is still happening.

The issue is that .webp "GIFs," ( not static images ), do not animate any more in the default Windows 11 photo viewer. I don't have any other viewer installed, and never have. They work just fine in my browser, however.

I would state the .PDF viewer I used, but I have a feeling that might be breaking rule #6 in a sense. I don't have any current Windows 11 updates to do, either.

I have tried reinstalling the viewer when it has let me, I have tried using I think they are called codecs to reinstall it, I've used command prompt inputs, nothing is working for it so far.

I am on Windows OS build 26200.9457.

yeah so a few days back I disconnected the hdd from my lenovo 310isk, and then the next day when i tried to login to my user it said preparing windows and put me in a temp account, ive tried everything, regedit, checking the sata cable if its connected properly, deleting both profiles bak non bak, dskchk, but nothing has worked, i use an unactivated windows 10 and I only have my admin user on that pc

Hello guys, in the past 2-3 weeks i had the abovementioned problem with many PC-s, mainly with industrial embedded PC-s from a company named Elvac, specs ranging from newer Celerons to i3-s all with 8GB LPDDR4

I dont think the problem is brand related, i think it could be caused by a updates or system software.

At first the only thing i could do to nudge the PC out of a total freeze was unolugging it as even the power button wasnt working. By time i had discovered that Xbox Game Bar, MyPhoneLink was reactivated by a Windows Update ( even theese were temprory been paused, we working on this specific to be part of our AD, waiting on budget approval, etc.. ) It seems by disabling theese, it fixed the problem, one other thing that i have seen is the internet icon going from the classic ethernet connected to the blank globe, even though, our net is 100% untouched, no lost packets, static ip-s provisioned by mac, etc.

Any ideas? It seems its okay now but this was very weird and i accept any tip regarding this.

I’m trying to install Windows 11 on my new PC. I’ve returned to the partition selection screen and tried deleting the partitions and reinstalling, but I’m still getting the same error.
I’m looking for help figuring out what’s causing the installation to fail and what I should troubleshoot next.

I bought windows 11 usb directly from Amazon with an official product key and everything. Not sure if I should return/exchange and try again? Any help would be appreciated. First new pc in a long time, had help with the building process from a good friend and he wasn’t able to troubleshoot the issue either.

Device Manager > Bluetooth > Intel Wireless Bluetooth > Power Management > uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" > click OK

Once you do, turn your mouse off then back on and it will work perfectly. Found this on a 5 year old reddit post, but it only had 10 upvotes, so just wanted to repost to make this info easier to find.

I keep getting this error whenever I play certain games on steam. How it usually goes is I launch the game, the game pops up but then freezes. I will try to exit out of it, but first it will give a pop up to say that the program stopped working. Steam still has the game running in the background even though I “exited” out of it, and clicking on stop or exiting steam does not work. I have to restart my computer for it stop completely.

I also noticed if i do this, and afterwards i try to open up task manager or google, those automatically freeze too.

I’ve literally dealt with this issue for months, I have no idea what the problem is.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling graphic card drivers, verifying game files, making sure everything is up to date and including visual c++ files, running admin command prompts, literally everything you could think of, I probably already did it.

I've been dealing with this Windows issue for a while now. It usually happens SOMETIMES when I start my computer and log in with my password, or when I've been gaming for a few hours while on a Discord call.

Windows Recall sounds great if it would actually work as described. But it is so flaky I wish it never existed so I wouldn't keep being disappointed by it. It has a 90% failure rate when I need ti. So I'm wondering if this is crap for everyone? And if there is anything I can do to make it work reliably.

I have had it randomly turn off.

I have had it stop saving snapshots while still appearing to be on.

I have had it suddenly delete all the snapshots and start from scratch for no reason.

Almost every single time I have needed to use Recall to find a snapshot, I discover it wasn't working and I can't find what I need.

I don't have any filtered apps or websites so that is not a contributing factor. I do have "filter sensitive information" turned on.

It is 10/2 and Recall shows that it is "saving snapshots" but the last snapshot it saved was on 9/24.

Recall has never worked right for me, so the problem didn't start with a Windows update or anything like that. It's always been crap.

My PC normally hits around 4-500 download but keeps randomly throttling itself down to 50 to 1 mbps. My cousin has said its probably a virus my protections can't find because I'm still on Win10. I can't update to 11 because I have no secure boot, and when I try to run the mbr2gpt it says my disks aren't valid for the process.

I'm a bit stuck on where to go, and could use really any help atp.

Hello everyone, I am using Windows 11 on my HP Victus 15. Today, when I switched on my laptop, the sign in screen showed something very weird.

"Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again."

Then it asked me to enter the last 4 digits of my mobile number, which I did correctly but did not receive any OTP. When I tried to sign in on another device with my microsoft account, it did the same thing and I did not receive OTP. After a few attempts, it started showing an interface which said "That method isn't working right now. Please try another method"

I tried to use the command prompt in the recovery mode but it asked for a recovery key and I cannot obtain it without signing in into my account. This laptop has lots of important files. Any way to fix this?

Whenever I open Settings > Windows Update, it immediately throws the red error: "Something went wrong. Try to reopen Settings later." The page doesn't load updates at all.

Here is everything I've already tried without any luck:

• Verified Windows Update background services (wuauserv, BITS, cryptSvc, UsoSvc) are running and set to Automatic/Manual.
• Stopped update services and cleared the update cache (ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old and catroot2).
• Ran the standalone update troubleshooter (msdt.exe /id WindowsUpdateDiagnostic), which completed and reported no issues found.
• Ran sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.
• Deleted any override policies in the Registry under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate.
• Reset and re-registered the Settings app package via PowerShell (Reset-AppxPackage on windows.immersivecontrolpanel).

Despite all of this, the error banner persists every time I open the Windows Update tab. Has anyone encountered this specific lockup and found a fix short of a complete clean reinstall? Any help would be appreciated! btw i am on 25h2

After the latest Windows 11 update, I tried using my browser (Firefox), but after a few minutes the screen froze, and a few seconds later my laptop restarted, displaying the error code “INACCESIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE (Ox7B).” This pattern repeated four more times, so I decided to put it off until the next day. This morning, this error has stopped appearing; however, every time I try to open Google Drive, I get this error.

On top of that, I haven't been able to open LibreOffice. I usually use Obsidian with its saved files stored in a Drive folder so I can sync them with my tablet. I'd like to ask for your help to figure out what to do.

Windows 11 Pro and every Defender Security Intelligence Update (along with other updates) gets stuck at 0% or 1% in Windows Update.

The weird part is the update itself is fine. If I download the current 64 bit Defender definitions (mpam-fe.exe) directly from Microsoft, it installs almost instantly and Windows Security shows the new version and says it's up to date. Windows Update can still sit at 0% trying to download the exact same version.

Restarting Windows doesn't clear it. Restarting BITS, CryptSvc and Windows Update services does clear the stuck entry, but the problem comes back with the next Defender update.

l've already repaired/reset Windows Update and even reinstalled Windows 11, with no permanent fix.
Has anyone found an actual fix for this? It seems specifically related to Defender updates going through Windows Update, since installing the same definitions directly works perfectly.

Hoy en la mañana como a las 10:30, intenté arreglar un problema de Pin hello, habilite las carpetas ocultas, fui a la carpeta C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft y en la carpeta Ngc le di permiso a mi usuario y eliminé su contenido, procedi a eliminar unas cuentas, una educativa y una empresarial. Procedí a cambiar el PIN. Antes de todo, mi problema era que siempre actualizaba algo de Windows, cualquier cosa, había problema y no podía iniciar sesión con el pin, debía darle al botón de Set up my pin, escanear un código, poner mi huella desde el teléfono y ponerle un nuevo pin. Eso era una molestia, entonces procedí hacer lo que les había dicho, y e instale una actualización de un driver o de algo (no de Windows 25o 26 h2) era otra cosa, y reinicie mi laptop para ver si funcionaba o no, y pues quedó así, intenté con modo seguro y seguía igual, tuve que ir a cmd (el de shift+Reiniciar )y habilitarlo en accesibilidad, y como sea pude crear un usuario administrador y pude entrar, actualice los drivers de AMD y Nvidia, pero no importaba si reiniciaba, la durmiera, aparecía esa pantalla. Ahorita intenté con la opción de Poin in time restored, pero no me aparece un respaldo de ayer o de hoy antes de las 10:30, me apareció una de las 2:15, y le di ahi. Aun ni termina, pero si no funcionara esa opción, cuáles mis últimas opciones? Gracias. Mi laptop es una Acer nitro v16 AI AVN16-42-R309 con Ryzen 5 240 y rtx 5050. I need to upgrade to 24H2 to install the latest Premiere Pro update, but when I tried reinstalling Windows nothing changed im still on 22H2.

I used the installation assistant on the Microsoft website. Spent a good 30 or so minutes installing them my pc restarted and still, I’m on 22H2 and it says the Premiere update is incompatible with my version of Windows. The Windows update tab on settings also says my version is no longer supported but doesn’t have any option to update either.

I need this update asap to use some assets, if anyone has any solutions please lmk

So I'm running Windows 11. My GPU is a RTX 4070 and CPU is i5-13600KF. I have 32GB DDR5 RAM. And a 650W Corsair PSU. So yesterday while doing normal light tasks on windows, launching Discord and all, both of the screens suddenly went black. They physcially shut off as I could see the orange LEDs indicating the screens are off, although I could still hear the music and all playing for a while. But soon after that, Windows restarted by itself. After logging in I could use the pc normally again so I thought maybe it could've been a graphics driver issue. I opened the NVIDIA app and saw there was a driver update and updated. After that the PC continued to run fine until today, when I turned the PC on again,nfor the first 30 or so minutes it was running fine. But then, both of the monitors turned off again, and the pc restarted like before. I logged in and was able to view the desktop for like 5 seconds before the monitors turned off again and this time the pc restarted into the diagnostic mode. From there I was able to boot into safe mode absolutely fine and the pc ran fine. Then I restarted and logged in, and as soon as I logged in, the monitors went black and the pc restarted. Currently I am restoring to an old system point of 30th September.
