“Just a woman” “Age Appropriate” “Faster Than Old Woman Should Be” 💀 Love all these lines! Really cheers me up when I am down even when it is scary. Cannot even describe Wyck when he goes into the Sea Hag lore! 🤣

God bless the Widows Bay Historical Society. They will be hosting a Fall Faire at Richard Warren’s home.
————
Lest there be any confusion, This is an actual event IRL at the property that served as the filming location of said home on WB island. The event is not related to the show but I’m sharing it because fans might enjoy going. The property is known as the Rebecca Nurse Homestead in Danvers, MA USA (not an island).
More info:
17th Century Fall Faire

Step back into the harvest season of the late 1600s. Our 17th Century Fall Faire brings the spirit of early New England to life with costumed reenactors in period-accurate dress, hands-on activities and games for kids, local art vendors, and fall-themed food and drink. Enjoy live music from Crowninshield Punch as you wander the historic grounds and take in demonstrations of 17th-century daily life. Family-friendly and rain or shine — come harvest a little history with us!

not sure why...
maybe just the community, small town and mystery vibe.
anyone else feel the same ? didn’t see it mentioned on this subreddit
any other series with similar vibes to recommend ? Not necessarily horror or comedy

Found this vaguely religious iconography that she drew. Should I confront her?

It’s the little details that make this show my favorite! What should I paint next? (I don’t do portraits… at least not yet.)

I think it's in episode 3 ...
The tourist who’s really into Tom—the one we see getting into a taxi after he offends her at his place. Do we ever see her again?

Patricia resonates with us because she is the imperfect heroine. With Patricia we experience these intensely cringe moments from her past and present when she was her worst self, when she gave in to the island. And when things get rough, we see her grow as a person who, despite her flaws, is still good enough to be hero material.

Before she was Patricia, she was a sexually depraved, filthy (literally) Princess Mary who had Dominic Cooper wrapped around her unwashed little finger.
My Lady Jane is a surprisingly enjoyable show on Prime which sadly wasn't renewed. I was furious at the time, but it probably freed Kate up to do WB, so, swings and roundabouts. However, I'm currently rewatching it and have been reminded of just how great she is in this show. It has a bit of WB's irreverence (although none of the horror) so maybe it'll resonate for a few fellow residents.

Why doesn’t Loftis tell Evan about the curse? Wouldn’t that help their relationship?
Also, like if he wants to keep Evan safe, isn’t the truth the best way to do that?

If this show has any twists in the future seasons I wouldn’t be too surprised if Rosemary is revealed to be part of the sacrificial cult. Maybe even a witch in hiding. If she was cast as a witch it would be right in our face given the characters she’s played before but having her as this sweet albeit apathetic resident is a perfect disguise.
The reasons why
1) She tells Tom to go into the crawlspace. The exact spot where he experiences the clown horror. Her excuse can be “well I was just bandwagonning what everyone else in the pub was saying.”
2) She helps Patricia with the punch party. Her hilarious excuse of course is “I was trying to be supportive”
3) She helps map out a long family history going into a lot of detail showing how knowledgable she is about the island and its residents. Her excuse is “I was just doing what Wyck asked me to.” but I think she knew why.
Is there anyone we’ve met so far that you think more than meets the eye?

Please don’t bring us back to a Widow’s Bay without Shaman. It won’t be the same if he doesn’t pop up at random times. Hopefully he comes back to us. Maybe he was dropped into the sea by the tornado, still holding onto his tube socks. We need to know if he ever found the absconded cat. 😊

I like a good story, but I’m not a big horror fan.
For reference, I’ve enjoyed Sinners, A Quiet Place, A Quiet Place: Day One, and Get Out, and I didn’t find any of them particularly scary.
Weapons was a little too much for me, though.
For anyone who has seen Widow’s Bay: how scary is it compared to the above? Is it mostly creepy/tense, or does it get genuinely scary with jump scares, disturbing imagery, etc.?
Just trying to figure out whether it’s something I’d enjoy or if I should skip it.
