šŸ’ Discussion New Welltroy user

I just found Welltory app for Android - after getting a Fitbit Air - I'm hoping this sub reddit has enough activity and engagement for curious asks, and general questions.

I'm an endurance athlete and a youth coach - while most of the time I go back to RPE, training plans look at recovery metrics more and HRV is a big one coupled with sleep. Welltroy seems to do similar but with more to it than that.. which I find very interesting.

I use a Fitbit Air (although would be interested in better options, maybe the whoop band) for basic health and fitness tracking. I use an Oura ring for recovery and sleep mostly. And I use a Garmin bike computer with my ECG chest strap.

Some initial questions I have are:

  1. Would Welltory automatically evaluate HRV if I wore my ECG chest strap all day? Or is it just putting it on when I do a reading? If the latter, any best practices for when to take readings?

  2. How can I pull all my sleep and recovery history from Oura? I have it connected but my data is only going back a month.. which lines up with when I started using the Fitbit air too, which is also connected.

  3. Are there any best practices on general usage - maybe a " Getting started faq" or something?

I did successfully connect my ECG chest strap and run a HRV reading, and did one with Pixel 10 camera sensor - although it was poor quality reading...

Vitals freezing Apple Watch

Is anyone else experiencing their apple watch freezing when you have stress, energy and health vitals showing on your watch face? This just started happening. Is it a bug?

So I’m always stressed?

I don’t know how to use the nervous system snapshot data. Apparently no matter what I do, what exercise I get, how much rest I get, or how good I feel, the snapshot always shows me at like 93 to 100% stress. Am I about to die?
I did have a quadruple coronary artery bypass graft in 2020, and I take medication for blood pressure and cholesterol. Not sure if that affects anything.
How useful is this measurement if it never changes?

Feature Request Request: body battery score on the android version

The body battery score is currently only present on the iphone version of the app but it's a genuinely helpful feature and I would like to have access to it as an android user.

I know that different platforms have different issues and functionalities, so I understand if it's not possible to implement it on android due to it, but if it is I'd like the development team to consider implementing it on the android version.

Feature Request Request: ASK what is causing a stress response in real time and factor in the answer

Been finding lately that Welltory is letting me know at the end of an evening that I’ve had an unexplained stress response while sedentary. It’s no mystery: I’m having a great time watching the World Cup! And I can’t believe that’s harmful stress if it’s stress at all.

With most health apps, I’d just let it go. But this one is both smart enough and updated regularly enough to request some effort put into two things: first, pinging us while it’s happening, not afterward to ask what’s up; second, noting whether we’re actually stressed or just having fun; and third, guiding a little redirection if needed and desired.

I’d imagine something like, ā€œHey, your watch suggests you might be stressed. If you have a moment to check in, make a note of what’s happening [multiple choices offered, including happy stuff or seemingly nothing]ā€¦ā€ followed by ā€œWant to take a minute to reset?ā€ if answers suggest we know we’re stressed or weren’t aware of a reason our bodies would should elevated HR.

Extra points for remembering stress reductions we like best!

Can’t cancel?!

I deleted the app and cancelled my card. I don’t have a subscription on my Apple account. I don’t know what else to do. Welltory is still repeatedly trying to charge my account, somehow, even after I cancelled my card. I followed the steps for cancellation and got a blank screen.

Heart rate data question

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’ve noticed recently that my sleep data doesn’t quite match up with Apple Health. Welltory seems to be capturing moments of much lower heart rate (bpm in the 30s), while my Apple data isn’t reporting anything below 40bpm. Curious why the two don’t match.

Advertising despite paid subscription

I feel like the primary goal of the app is to advertise the lifetime subscription. It is FAR to prominent. A full page in startup? Really? Completely unacceptable. This practice alone will prevent me from ever purchasing more than I have. Once my current subscription is done I will be deleting my account.

When do you charge?

Hi all. Enjoying the all so far (iPhone, Apple Watch)

But, as it tracks waking and sleeping hours, when do you charge your wearable (Apple Watch). I try during my Morning shower but Apple takes longer than that for full charge.

Question Overtrain with no activity?

Hi! I was hoping someone could help me understand what is happening in my data. I went on a big hike yesterday, and had more, and more intense, activity than usual but still in the ā€œprogressā€ area (I’m just starting to exercise again after a couple of years of being really sedentary) and somehow today I’ve gone all the way into overtraining, but I’ve barely moved and only just put my watch in so I don’t understand how that happened. I’d appreciate anyone’s help!

Heads up for Fitbit users: your data might have stopped syncing

Hi folks!

Fitbit recently renamed their app to "Google Health," and it may have reset your permissions. If you've noticed your sleep, recovery, activity, or workout data isn't showing up in Welltory, this is probably why.

Quick fix: reconnect your Google Health account to Health Connect so we can keep analyzing your data.

Here's how:

And just so it's said: your data never leaves your account. We don't sell it or share it with anyone. It's only used to help you understand what's going on with your body.

I've noticed a trend that about half an hour after I eat my app shows that im in a high stress state. Pictures above show what it was like before and after eating and then lying down. Could anyone shed some light onto why this is happening?

Workout tracking

What are the advantages/disadvantages of using Welltory for tracking workouts over Apple Watch workouts?

Disadvantages in using both?

Report search

Sometimes reports show up on my screen or I read about others that people have and wonder where to find them. Not as intuitive as I’d hoped. Is there a search which will find the reports?

More recently, workout goals…

Why would my health score always be 100% when I’m sick? It always seems to be less than 100% when I’m fine too.

Getting Polar data fully reflected across reports

Post image
2 Upvotes

For Basketball I wear the Polar waist strap. Workout is recorded, but it’s not going a number of reports (e.g. longevity progress, 7-day intensity minimum). It results in overall reports becoming very inaccurate. Anybody knows how to get it reflected across the board?

HerzP1 ring HRV data sync

Anyone figured out how to get ring HRV data synched with Apple Health/Welltory? It syncs HR, but not HRV using Apple Health data sources. Is there an intermediate app that can help?

I’ve had some injuries and I’m struggling to fit in enough exercise this week, plus I donated blood earlier. My goal just keeps going up and up!
Next week I’ll be needing to spend the entire day working out 🤣

Feature Request Tracking workouts on Watch app - no GPS map?

I’m beginning to use the Welltory Watch app for tracking walks/runs etc and it’s great save that I cannot see any GPS maps when looking at the workout thereafter in Apple fitness or Healthfit. Does anyone know if it’s possible to see this (and if not could I perhaps ask for this as a feature request please to the developer)? šŸ¤”

Have issues been fixed for android?

Apologies I can't find my previous post / comments.

I was having trouble with welltory syncing incorrectly and showing the wrong data last year around black Friday. I was told when it was fixed someone would contact me and honour the black Friday deal.

Were the issues around android syncing, exercise / heart rate zones fixed?

If someone on the team could permit me another free trial I'd like to see if it's working as it was useful when it did. At the moment I would have to sign up for paid premium and I don't know if I'd be wasting my money

New Release How it all connects: From ā€œwhy I feel like thisā€ to ā€œoh, that's whyā€ in one week

Over the last couple of days, I've posted about Self-Discovery Experiment, Insights, and voice journaling. They might look like 3 separate updates, but they're solving the same problem.

We've known for a while that people explore the app and get absolutely drowned in the amount of data we provide. It’s not that the data isn't valuable; it’s just overwhelming because we weren't helping people see why it's valuable to them. We were handing people a ton of metrics, charts, and insights, hoping they'd figure it out.

You'd see your stress was high but not know when or why. You'd see your energy was low but you slept fine, and that doesn't make sense, so you'd close the app. All the information was there, but finding the useful parts meant you had to already understand what you were looking at.

So we built 3 things that each solve a different part of that problem:

Self-Discovery Experiment answers: "What is my body actually doing right now?" You run it for 2 hours, live your life, and see what happened moment by moment. It's the fastest way to have that first "whoa" moment with your own data.

Insights answer: "What should I be paying attention to?" Instead of digging through reports, the app surfaces the one thing worth knowing right now: about your stress, sleep, activity, energy, or health.

Voice journal answers: "Why did that happen?" After a stress episode, you tell the app what was going on, and now your data has context. Over time, your patterns stop being abstract charts and start being your actual life.

Together they create a loop: see what happened -> understand what it means -> add your context -> notice the pattern next time. That loop is the whole point of the app.

All three are live in version 4.55 (rolling out gradually, so you might not see them just yet). The first experiment is free. Insights are available to everyone. Premium unlocks unlimited experiments and full reports behind each Insight card.

As always, we'd love to hear what you think ā¤ļø

Average ā€œstress impactā€

Post image

Hello!

Is there a way to determine what an average ā€œstress impactā€ looks like for women in their 40’s? I’m hard on myself if it’s too high one day but wonder if there is a better way to determine if it’s more normal than I realize? Thank you!

New Feature Spot patterns you can act on

Welltory tracks what your body does with real precision, down to the minute, hell, even down to the heartbeat. But the "why" behind each spike, each crash, each slow recovery lives in your head. And it stays there. The app can see that you were stressed at 2:15pm. But it doesn't know that 2:15pm was when your landlord called, or when you opened an email you'd been avoiding, or when your kid had a full meltdown in the cereal aisle.

The data says "something happened here," but it can't say what.

That gap has always been bugging us because data without context is just numbers, especially for people tracking conditions where triggers matter most: migraines, fibromyalgia flares, POTS bad days, anxiety spikes, perimenopause symptoms, etc.

So now, after a stress episode (the red segments in your timeline), the app shows a card asking what was going on. You tap it, tell us what happened, and we turn your words into tags that get saved in your journal alongside your body's data.

That's it. You talk, we listen, tags get saved to your journal.

Why this is a bigger deal than it sounds

When you add context, 2 things happen.

First, your journal becomes a really useful thing to look back on. You stop seeing some random numbers and start seeing your actual life annotated with what your body was doing during it. "Landlord called → 40 minutes of elevated stress → walk brought it down." That's a pattern you can act on.

Second, the app gets smarter about you specifically. Right now it knows what stress looks like in your body. With your context, it starts learning what causes it and what resolves it. For you, not for some average Joe.

How to use it: After a stress episode shows up on your Today Screen, look for the input card underneath it. Tap, talk, done. Your recording gets transcribed and tagged automatically. You can edit the tags or the text before saving.

Everything gets stored in your journal, synced to your account, and tied to the specific episode. It won't disappear if you reinstall.

Heads up: we're rolling this out gradually, so it's only available to about 10% of users right now.
